Snooping around

Luciano’S POV

I heard some muffled screams suddenly and quickly came out of the shadows to figure out what was going on.There,I saw Sabrina who was being held by one of my men.I strode forward, a little pissed, and demanded, "What the hell is going on here?"

The man holding Sabrina who looked just as bewildered as I felt, stammered, "I caught her snooping around, boss."

I shot a glare at Sabrina who had tears welling in her eyes. "Is this true?" I growled at her.

Before she could explain herself, I cut her short, my temper flaring. "Enough! Don’t you say a word” I ordered, my tone leaving no room for argument. Two of my men immediately began cleaning up the mess of the traitor I just killed on the floor, erasing any trace of the struggle.

Lorenzo dragged a shaken Sabrina  along as we made way to my study. Once we were inside, I told Lorenzo to wait outside, and I circled around Sabrina , who was trembling with fear.

I pulled her by the arm, closing the space between us, our bodies inches apart. Her breath hitched, and she refused to meet my gaze, keeping her eyes fixed on the floor. "You were here for one night, and you're already sticking your nose in my business?" I snarled at her.

Sabrina  stammered, "It wasn't intentional. I had just put Noah to bed, and I heard some commotion outside. I wanted to make sure there weren't any burglars breaking in."

I scowled, finding her explanation ridiculous. "I have high and tight security, Sabrina . Not just anyone can waltz in here," I retorted.

She quickly apologized, her voice shaky. "I'm so sorry, Sir Luciano. It won't happen again. I promise."

I leaned in closer, my eyes locked on hers. "You better concentrate on the real reason you're here" I warned her.

She nodded, her gaze still glued to the floor. "I understand."

"Good," I said, my anger slowly subsiding. "I don't know what you saw, but you better not breathe a word about this to anyone. Is that clear?"

She agreed with a quick nod, and I released her, pushing her away. "Now get the hell out," I ordered.

Sabrina  wasted no time, taking quick and light steps as she darted out of the room. I watched her leave and then sighed deeply.

The next day, I woke early and went about my usual business. Today was no different, and I had to attend to some of my mafia operations.

I dressed in a sharp black suit that screamed authority. My dark eyes locked onto the mirror as I adjusted my tie, making sure every detail was perfect. With a final look, I grabbed my coat and headed out, my trusted enforcer, Lorenzo, at my side.

We visited various locations, overseeing the operations.

"Any leads on the Blackhood’s gang?" I asked, my voice tense.

Lorenzo responded, "I'm still working on it, boss. We'll get them. I promise."

I clenched my jaw, the fury and pain still fresh in my mind. "I won't stop until every last one of those bastards related to my rival's family is dead," I swore. Revenge fueled me, and I was determined to see it through.

My biggest rival, Horacio and his gang members had been the ones responsible for killing my brother and his innocent wife, leaving little Noah behind. Noah didn’t deserve any of that and I was going to make sure I killed every last one of them even if it was the last thing I did.

As I entered the mansion, I was surprised to see Isabella who was sitting with her legs crossed in the living room. I couldn't help but roll my eyes; her constant presence was starting to wear on my nerves. I was beginning to hate to how she started acting clingy and behaving as if she were my girlfriend.

Isabella was a striking woman, no doubt. She had a buxom figure, long, smooth legs, wild shoulder-length blonde hair, and a face of a beautiful model. Her signature very red lipstick highlighted her full, alluring lips. Her smooth ivory skin and the slender curve of her face framed striking green cat eyes that always looked mischievous.

Today, she was wearing a provocative dress that would make any man's head turn – a black mini skirt and a low-cut crop top that left little to the imagination, revealing ample cleavage.

When she spotted me, her lips curled into a seductive smile, and she rose to her feet, her four-inch heels clicking loudly on the hardwood floor. She wrapped her arms around my shoulders and planted a kiss on my lips. "I've missed you," she purred.

I raised a skeptical brow. "You were here three days ago," I pointed out.

Isabella pouted, her fingers tracing along my arms while she bit her lip in a suggestive manner. "It feels longer than that. I just wanted to spend some quality time with you, Luciano."

I sighed, not in the mood for her games. "You know I'm a very busy man, Isabella," I reminded her. "I have a lot on my plate."

She leaned in closer, her breath hot against my ear, as she whispered, "Sometimes, you need a break from all that stress. And I can be your stress reliever, baby."

I couldn't deny that Isabella's presence was tempting, but I had more pressing matters on my mind. My thoughts returned to the pursuit of my enemies, and I needed to stay focused.

Isabella, however, was far from done. She wrinkled her nose in disapproval and asked, "What happened to Eloisa? I don't like the new nanny."

I gave her a curt look. "Eloisa needed some time off, and I trust the new nanny to take care of Noah."

She pouted, clearly unsatisfied with my response. "I don't like her. Whatever happened to Eloisa? I think you should reconsider."

I glanced at her, trying to maintain my composure, and said, "Eloisa fucked things up, Isabella, and I had to let her go. Noah has already taken a liking to Sabrina."

She frowned deeply, her displeasure evident. "I don't like that maid one bit," she grumbled. "She looks incompetent."

I arched an eyebrow, somewhat surprised at her quick judgment. "Isabella, you've barely been here for a day. How can you decide on that so easily?"

“Wait… I hope she is just Noah’s nanny and nothing else.”she narrowed her eyes at me.

“I can do whatever I want with whoever the hell I want it with. You do not own me,Isabella.”

She huffed in response, crossing her arms. "I’m sorry Luciano. Well, she broke your favorite," she paused, trying to find the right word, "thing."

I frowned, my interest piqued. "What did she break?"

Isabella seemed hesitant for a moment before confessing, "Your favorite vase."

I clenched my jaw at the news. That vase held sentimental value to me, and it was a cherished possession. I couldn't believe it was shattered. In frustration, I called out, "Denise!"

Denise rushed into the room, her eyes wide with concern. "Yes, Mr. Luciano?"

I didn't waste any time. "Where is Sabrina?"

Denise replied promptly, "She's in Noah's room, teaching him."

"Did Sabrina actually break the vase?"

Denise nodded, her voice apologetic. "Yes, she did and then she cleaned up the mess and disposed of it in the dustbin."

I nodded stiffly and dismissed Denise. As soon as she left, I hollered at Lorenzo who was by my side in a minute.

"Lorenzo," I said when he answered, "I need a new vase, identical to the one that got broken. Have it here by tomorrow morning."

Lorenzo replied, "Consider it done, boss."

Isabella, clearly shocked by my response, protested, "Why are you letting her get away with it, Luciano? You should punish that careless nanny."

I took a deep breath, trying to keep my temper in check. "Don't worry, Isabella," I told her, "I'll handle it in my own way."

Isabella still seemed unsatisfied, but I wasn't in the mood for further discussion. "Go home, Isabella," I instructed, "I'll send for you if I need you."

She pouted, clearly disappointed. "Aren't you happy to see me?"

I shot a warning glare at her, my patience running thin. "Go home," I repeated firmly, "and I won't repeat myself."

She reluctantly picked up her bag, her pout not disappearing, but she didn't push any further. She left the mansion, and I was finally alone to deal with the situation.

I walked to Noah's room and stopped short at the slightly open door. I peered inside and saw Sabrina sitting on the floor with Noah. She was speaking to him in Spanish, and he seemed captivated by the language and her presence.

Suddenly, Noah turned to Sabrina, his eyes filled with curiosity. "Are you going to apologize to my Daddy for breaking his stuff?" he asked.

Sabrina smiled gently and nodded. "Yes, I will, Noah. It was an accident, and I'm kind of freaking out."

Noah, in his innocence, placed a small hand on Sabrina's chest. "Don't worry," he assured her, "my Daddy doesn't bite."

Oh I bite,and I bite hard.
