Miranda's point of view

Feeling threatened, I ducked and escaped from the person's grip. Creating a safe distance between us, I turned around in a defensive stance and was ready to throw a punch at him, but stopped myself when he raised his hands and spoke again.

"Hey, it's me, Kaspar," he said.

"Kaspar?" My brows furrowed as he mentioned a name I am very familiar with. I took a closer look at him.

My eyes widened in shock as I finally recognized him. "Kaspar, what... what happened to you?" I asked, taking in his appearance once more.

This isn't the Kaspar I used to know.

Kaspar, Anna, and I used to be best friends back in our original pack when we were teens, but something happened to his family—his father died, and his mother remarried someone else from another pack, so they moved away from our pack.

Kaspar has always been a neat freak among us. He was always on a buzz cut, dressed in baggy pants and a little oversized T-shirt, which I used to secretly love so much.

  • Her Sweet Revenge.   Chapter 44

Miranda's point of viewVincenzo stopped the car right outside the villa. He got off, went to the backseat, carried the shopping bags, and went inside. He didn't look my way or bother to hold the door open for me like before.I didn't complain, though. I respectfully got off myself and rushed in after him.He wordlessly placed the shopping bags on the couch and made his way to our bedroom—I guess he's going to take a shower, just as I’d told him.I, on the other hand, walked into the kitchen, tied my hair up, and began boiling water for the pasta."Do you need my assistance, Luna?" Claire asked me from the living room."No, just go on with your business," I replied to her. She nodded, then headed towards her room. While waiting for the water to boil, I stared at the kitchen counter, gripping its edge and exhaling slowly. You can do this, Miranda. Apologize properly this time, I encouraged myself."You know, having these misunderstandings will help you get to know each other better," K

  • Her Sweet Revenge.   Chapter 43

Miranda's point of view.Exhaling heavily, I entered the store and joined Kaspar and Claire."What have you picked?" I asked, looking at Kaspar."I didn't pick anything yet. I was waiting for you," he answered.I simply nodded and began walking through the T-shirt aisle. Kaspar and Claire were following behind, but Kaspar was a bit closer to me as he was directly at my back."You can pick whatever you—""No," he interrupted me. "I want you to pick for me."I stopped walking at once and turned around with my brows raised."Why? You're here in the store and your hands are functioning well. Just browse around and pick whatever you like."He rubbed the back of his neck as it suddenly turned red and let out a brief, embarrassed laugh."I haven't shopped for clothes in a while. I don't know the trend nowadays," he said."Oh... that's right," I agreed. According to his story, he's always been on the run and hardly has money for food—he definitely wouldn't have money to buy clothes."But don'

  • Her Sweet Revenge.   Chapter 42

Third Person's Point of ViewVincenzo watched as Miranda stormed away from him. He saw the disappointment in her eyes and realized he’d messed up."Fuck!" he cussed as he pulled his hair angrily. "I was just looking out for her!""You should trust her," his wolf, Blackwood, scolded him."I trust her. I just don't trust that motherfucking cunt!" Vincenzo glared at the barbershop. He balled his fists and clenched his jaw tightly as he fought against his will of barging into the barbershop and beating up Kaspar."He is our mate's long-lost friend. Even though he might have returned with an ulterior motive, she can't sit back and watch him suffer when she can help... Acting too vigilant around him would upset her and make her feel like you don't trust her," Blackwood said."But I can't bear to watch them getting close. That's obviously his intention. He wants more than her help. And don't pretend like it doesn't bother you at all—you’re the one growling in my head every time you see her s

  • Her Sweet Revenge.   Chapter 41

Miranda's point of viewThe atmosphere in the car wasn't so pleasant. I could feel the tension, as Vincenzo was grumpy throughout the drive to the mall.He kept looking in the rearview mirror, and judging from his tightly clenched jaw, I could tell he was glaring at Kaspar, who's sitting in the back seat.Kaspar is awfully quiet; it's almost like he's reflecting on his mistake. I cleared my throat quietly and faced him."What do you say about getting a haircut?" I asked him, trying to lighten up the mood a bit.My question earned me a warning growl from Vincenzo, but I ignored him."Would you like a buzz cut like the old times? Or do you want to try something else?"He took a peek at Vincenzo before looking back at me, silently asking if it's safe for him to speak. I gave him an encouraging nod, and he gulped before speaking."A buzz cut would do," he replied in a quiet voice. He's choosing his words carefully, as he's scared of what Vincenzo's reaction would be.I squinted my eyes, w

  • Her Sweet Revenge.   Chapter 40

Miranda's Point of View"Alright, we should go home. We need to pack our bags and get some things ready for the trip," Mr. Antonio worriedly glanced our way as he said those words.Anna snickered as she motioned for me to bring my ear closer, then she whispered, "He must be cursing at me in his mind."I wasn't supposed to laugh, but seeing the triumphant smirk on her face, I couldn't help it."He's just worried that the trip would stress you, but unfortunately, you're not worried for yourself," I whispered back. "You're going to be the end of this man," I scolded her, still maintaining my hushed voice."I know," she nodded in agreement, her smirk turning into a prideful one.Mr. Antonio got up. He bowed at Vincenzo once more before coming over to our side. He stretched out his hand, but Anna raised her hands instead, motioning for him to carry her."Anna!" I gently slapped her hands down. "Don't you know it's dangerous to carry you at this stage of your pregnancy? I know you don't val

  • Her Sweet Revenge.   Chapter 39

Miranda's point of view"We'll be right there," I told Claire."Okay," Claire replied, then I heard her walk away. After she'd gone, I quickly ate two slices of bread and gulped down the glass of milk on the tray because I didn't want to waste Vincenzo's effort."Let's go," I told Vincenzo."Are you not going to change into something else?" he asked, eyeing my pajamas disapprovingly."I don't think there's need for a change," I replied."There is. Your nipples are pointing at me."I looked down at my chest and realized he was right. Deciding to listen to him, I snatched his jacket on the couch, wore it, and zipped up."Happy now?" I asked. He smiled in satisfaction. "Perfect!"> > > > > > > Mr. Antonio and Anna stood up immediately they saw us approaching them.Mr. Antonio bowed quickly, and Anna wanted to follow his lead, but I rushed forward and stopped her."What are you doing?" I scolded her quietly. "You're pregnant. I don't think Vincenzo would mind a nod from you."She smiled
