Her Tears

SCARLET's POV.“Hon, I'm leaving first,” I said, but he seemed too stunned. “Wait... Are you okay?” I asked. He still could not talk. I'm worried.“H-Hon.. You will not leave me no matter what, are you?” he asked, and he took my hand in his and pulled me into his lap. I frowned at him, wondering why he seemed to do something wrong.I've been noticing it for two months, but I just ignore it, maybe he's just having a problem at work.“Hon? Is there something wrong?” I asked. “We're husband and wife, so I should know what my husband's problem is,” I said. All he did was hug me.“Please promise me you will not leave me.” he said. I stood up, letting go of his embrace. What he's saying confuses me.I don't understand everything! What is going on with him?“What's wrong, Dominic?” I asked, annoyed. He continued to drink while shaking his head.“I love you, Scarlett.” he said. I sighed and moved closer to him.“Yeah, I love you so much that I will never leave you.”That's what I believed, bu

“Where are we going, Mommy?” asked Carrie, my daughter.I just smiled at her as we packed our belongings because I had already decided that we would return to Manila. Perhaps the five years I spent hiding from my family were enough. Maybe it's time to introduce them to my kids.As they sat on my bed, I looked at them.“In mommy's proper home,” I replied, caressing Carrie's cheek. Her eyes widened as she heard what I said, and she smiled.“Do you mean I'll see our grandparents, Mommy?” She asked. I nodded, and I messed her hair.As I saw how excited they were to see my family, I smiled. And will not hide forever because I'm still going back to where I came from. And I know they're excited because my daughter has asked me why there are only four of us here and where their grandparents are because they want to see them.“So, mommy, I can see daddy as well?” When she asked me again about their father, I was stunned and stopped putting our things away. What if they find Dominic is the fat

SCARLETT's POVHer eyes widened because of my question. “H-huh?” she stammered. “W-what, should I be afraid of? What should they know?” asked Sophia. I frowned, as if she couldn't understand what I was saying.Did she forget, or is she unable to confess the sin she committed against me? I just shook my head because Sophia was unable to give me a reasonable answer.“I don't feel like talking to you anymore, Sophia; just tell me what you want to tell me,” I said as I took my towel. “You seem so to be unaware of the sin you have committed,” I added. Her eyes widened once again.“I don't know what you're talking about! You've been gone for five years, you don't know what it's like—” she was about to say when I interrupted her. I don't have time to hear it out.She acted like she just wanted to make me feel like she had my husband earlier at dinner. She's so pathetic.“You have nothing to fear if I return here because you are not the reason I returned,” I sighed. “I won't bother you as lon

Because of what had happened earlier, the children had lost their desire to play in the mall. So, Erin bought them their favorite toys so that they could be happy during the trip.“Let's talk,” said Erin, and I turned to face the man who had handed me the coffee. I simply smiled and leaned back in my chair.“I'm not blind or deaf, Scarlett, but I know something is wrong with you and them,” he said.I looked around at the kids who were playing with the gifts Erin had bought them.“I'm your cousin, Scarlett,” he added, “and you can talk to me whenever you want.” I stroked Carrie's hair before turning to face Erin.“Where do I start?” I asked, taking a deep breath.“Scarlett.”I was taken aback, and the smile on my lips disappeared.“Brother, you're aware of our rules and boundaries; you know that I'm not allowed to have a boyfriend, aren't you? But I disobeyed that chairperson's law for me.” I looked up as tears fell from my eyes. “I disobeyed not because I wanted to, but because I want

We arrived at the Knight Palace, and I parked Claire’s car outside the mansion and went inside.I looked at the entire Knight with a mix of frustration and concern. The Stones have also arrived; maybe they are helping with what happened to the chairperson. So, I approached them and gained their attention.“Are you all okay?” I asked. My cousins came up to me.“The chairperson was ambushed, and our other personnel died, TSK,” said Sandro. Sandro Knight is the son of uncle Alejandro.“Someone informed us that our enemies were planning to ambush the chairperson, so we moved him to another car,” Rios Knight explained. He is one of the most mysterious of us, but he is gentle with his female cousins. He is Erin's younger brother and the family's second child.“I can’t believe he can do this to the chairperson! Is there something we did wrong? To avenge us?” asked Lux. She is a beautiful and strong woman. She is the daughter of Aunt Amelia Knight.I took a deep breath, rubbed Lux's hand, and
