LOGINMicha P.O.V.One year later “Come on now, Micha, or we’re going to be late.” Mom calls up the stairs. I laugh as Layla and Mia overtakes me on the stairs, declaring I’m a slowpoke, and pouts when I use my power to jump off the and levitate down, beating them both. Mom just shakes her head at our antics, her eyes alight with emotions I can’t quite place. There’s been a lot of that lately. Ever since she went to see Mirage in Ambrosia about a year ago, as if something in the visit changed something in her or something. She is holding on to a secret that’s easy to tell, but what kind of secret? I keep wondering about it, especially when I wake in the middle of the night with strange nightmares of another adult version of me; a darker version, evil and sinister. I’ve not told anyone about them. Not yet. I don’t know what they mean, or if they mean anything, but right now I just want to get going and see Mirage be crowned twice over. It’s her coronation day, and it’s long awaited. Lucas
Druida P.O.V.A couple of days after Lucas’s official crowning, we’re walking through the royal garden, one of them, with my parents. Cian and Alora have joined us today, even though Alora mostly resides with Iron Mountain or Blackmoon these days, as she is determined to get the next generation right. I’ve been getting memories and dreams of my ‘aunt Lora’ and her strict yet loving nature and amazing trips to the air while I was little. The funeral of Tywin and everyone else who lost their lives during the war was buried in silence, and we help a memorial for Tywin, general Abast, Freya, her mate Ezra and Azlela as she was pronounced dead after the war, although she did not go to the Goddess until after Lucas was crowned. Mom needed time after that to recover from her loss all over again, and I needed to mourn Freya who had become a friend. She was a sweet girl, and she lost her life when she saved a group of vampire warriors from an ambush of straggler enemies. Her mate lost control
Lucas P.O.V.Sunset. The sun is shining through the windows of the chapel, making the light seem ethereal as my parents watch me walk towards them with my head held high. Mirage is on my arm, her head adorned with a beautiful and old family tiara, showing the world her position as my mate and my future Queen. On her other side, just a step behind her, walks Cian, in solidarity, with his crown, his wings and a smirk. His black eyes have more light to them now, his body language is relaxed. Today is my day. Tomorrow is ours. And soon Mirage will be crowned Queen of both our species, acknowledged as the absolute badass woman she is. Today has been a whirlwind. I still don’t know what kept my mate awake last night, and I’m not going to prod. Whatever it is, she will come to either of us, or both one day and talk. Until then, we are just going to be there for her. She has been through more than most, and I can’t even begin to imagine what she experienced in her variant of the future, the
Druida P.O.V.The cleaning of both Iron Mountain and Blackmoon took almost two whole weeks as we also went to the village where Silvan had overtaken the Royal vacation home, aka the giant ass mansion as his base of operations and the camp where some people were still working and going on with their daily lives. On both occasions they were put in for a choice; pledge allegiance to the reigning species of whom they belonged, or be arrested and set before a fair trial. All of them chose the pledge. I knew they would. They were regular people who just wanted to survive and had done what they had to with the means dealt at the time. Some even had special skills, such as some very skilled doctor apprentices, woodworkers etc. Common for all was that they were offered a place to live within our packs, the Ambrosia Coven and amongst Queen Yrina’s people, who she had finally gotten in contact with. Most of them were on her side, and they were fighting a brave fight to take back what rightfull
Cian P.O.V.Mirage, Cian and I find some quiet place in the shadow of the night to lie down, outside and free at last. Mirage cuddles into the both of us, sighing with content as she drifts off to sleep in a matter of seconds. Cian and I do not fall off as fast, and as she lies there between us, her body cuddled between the two of us, Cian brushing her hair from her eyes, my arm protective around her abdomen, we smile at each other. “She is something else isn’t she?” He says, his black eyes shining with more light than I have seen when he looks down at her. “She will keep us on our toes for sure.” I laugh, and he chuckles. “Are you complaining, pup?” He asks, a teasing tone in his silky voice. “No, batboy, but I am reminding you that you are not going to be able to just run around corners with her.” I sigh. “Or charm your way out of everything.” “That goes for the both of us, Luke.” He says quietly. “I know, Cian. Don’t I know. We did good though, right?” “Yes, we did excellent
Lucas P.O.V.Midnight rings quiet over the cleared packlands. Maddison and Liam moved their pack members to off-site saferooms all day, in smaller groups, as if they were going to a pack party or something. Some went with their leadership, some went with each other, some went with either Cian or I, but in the end we had everyone accounted for and off the site where the last battle was about to be fought. Little Mirage and her siblings were the first to be moved, and when Maddison and Liam came back, they hugged their adult daughter a little closer. It was as if she was getting new memories from this timeline. She was explaining it to Cian and I when her parents came back, and they sat down to listen. She said she was getting small visions of what had happened in the Ambrosia Coven earlier, and now from the bunker where her smaller self were playing with her mermaids and singing to herself. Mirage had some time to talk to her parents during the day and evening as well. They had many
Unknown P.O.V.I know it was probably a mistake to go topside, but I had to see her. Smell her. Feel her. I did not count on her being away when I finally got through all the gates, and out into the realm of air and sky. I tracked her through our bond, feeling her emotions, getting glimpses of her
Jessica P.O.V.I storm back to my own room and not the one I share again with Silvan. I summon Freya to my side when I’m there and ask her to close and lock the door. I need some peace and quiet to think, and I need her twisted little mind to bounce ideas off of. I got rid of Abast and Gillian, and
Lucas P.O.V.I have been in the camp for two weeks now, observing, training and gathering information for my parents. It’s draining to suppress my vampire aura all the time, but I have to if I don’t want Silvan to know who I really am. I need him to keep thinking I’m Kennock of the North and not Cr
Lucas The night air brushes through my hair as I travel through the mountains close to the Iron Mountain pack borders. I decided to go myself, as I want to see my mate and it’s more difficult for her to leave Silvan’s court, than it is for me to leave mine right now. Angel said sh
