Maddie P.O.V.

“This is not a good idea, Maddie.” I roll my eyes as Liam wraps his arms around me, trying to prevent me from leaving the packhouse. I turn in his arms, kiss his cheeks and search his eyes. He is worried. So am I, which is why this is not only a good idea, it is necessary. Besides, I have to.

“I placed her in that viper’s nest, Liam. I can’t just leave her to her own devices and then let her think I forgot all about her.”

“Do you really think that is what is going through her head?” He asks, mouth a tight line. I kiss the corners of it, making him sigh.

“No, but I also don’t want her to start entertaining that sort of thoughts. I know we communicate, but I need to see if she is well.”

“The Covens swear she is not linked to any of them.” I sigh.

“I know, which is her secret and not mine. She’s been loyal so far, Liam, I will not insult her with questions about her heritage just because she is not exactly what she initially said she was.”

“You didn’t pick up on it i

  • Her True Mate   Help from the shadows

Maddison P.O.V.“You lose, Maddie.” Jessica says with a menacing gleam in her eyes. The little knife hovering just above where my heart is being violently.“Just one problem, Jess.” I tell her back, making her narrow her eyes. I fling her off me with my magic, pushing so hard she flies across the clearing. Jess screams the whole time in fury. When she lands, she makes sure to land on her feet. Her whole body is shaking in anger and hatred, but even so she doesn’t move. She heaves for breath between her teeth, but she doesn’t move. I brace myself. I have no illusions, Jessica is at her most dangerous when she is cornered and I know she will have nasty surprises up her sleeve. From the forest I hear movement. Not enough to be the children or guards, but enough to make my senses tingle. It’s not someone I know, or someone known to the pack. The animals have fled the surroundings of the clearing, giving me a disadvantage. I try to mindlink Liam, but as soon as I do, a blinding pain shoo

  • Her True Mate   Confrontation

Jessica P.O.V.Druida has been gone since before noon, and I wonder where she went. My spies tried to follow her and Kennock, but they lost them when Druida decided to teleport out. Even Freya says she can’t track Druida’s magical trace when she does that. I’m not entirely sure I believe her, but right now I need to move on with my own plans more than reveal that Freya isn’t as loyal to me as she used to be.“Tell Silvan I’m out for the afternoon.” I tell a servant boy in the hallway. He bows his head to me and Freya, who gives me a look of confusion. Good. Keep being confused. I have plans, and they are going to be executed while miss goodie-two-shoes is away. “Where are we going exactly, Jess?” Freya asks as the boy hurries away. I gesture for her to follow me, Tywin appearing from the shadows, following as well. His cold eyes gleaming with amused menace. “Yes, Jessica, where are you going in such a hurry?” He asks, raising an eyebrow. I can tell on the way he says it, he already

  • Her True Mate   Mates, together

Cian The cottage seems both more and less hostile than before. More because my mate's aura is not exactly welcoming, which I know I’ll have to work on, and less because I know this is a thing I can rectify myself. It’s not like before where I walked in here with my guards up, my senses on alert and my magic searching for traps and enemies at every turn outside. I know who is outside now, and I know who is inside. “So, Angel says I have to talk to you.” She says after a stretch of silence where she’s been looking out the window. She turns around, and the light catches the green in her eyes, making them shine like emeralds, while her hair gleams like melted caramel. She is without a doubt the most exquisite woman I have ever laid my eyes upon, and she is already doing things to me, I had no idea anyone could do. I also never wanted it, although I have been wanting a mate, I think I’ve underestimated the power a mate has over their other half, and in her case she has that power over tw

  • Her True Mate   The rival, who is not

Lucas P.O.V.Druida decides to keep the majority of the enemy in her air prison, while she takes the gag from the man spewing profanities at her before. He spits on the ground, seemingly aiming for her shoes. I growl at him, Ulric riding just under my skin, coming forward in my mind, not liking neither this idiot or the one throwing a tantrum in the forest. Druida taps my chin, her eyes shining in amusement and warmth. “Easy, he is not worth the emotions.” She says, her voice deadly calm, her aura dangerous. Angel walks forward, her hands upwards, her eyes blazing with malice and intent. Her aura is even more dangerous than my mates at the moment, but I keep my position besides Druida, never wavering, never stepping even a small step back. I’m no wimp, no simple warrior or regular guy. I’m the Crown Prince of the vampires and I’m her mate. Her first mate, her only and true mate. The one in the forest may pretend all he likes, but at the end of the day he is a demon in his soul, and

  • Her True Mate   First temporal ripple

Druida P.O.V.Days bleed together, and somehow I find myself in my workroom, door closed and sealed so no one can gain access; magical or by blunt force. I take out the hidden crystals from the cupboard no one but I have access to and take a deep breath. Lucas tries to reach me through our bond, sensing my emotions going rigid with what I’m about to do, but I just ignore him. I need to do this, and it’s long overdue. I think I’ve been putting it off because I’m afraid of what I’ll find. The sun is moving on the sky outside, and I know I’ll have to move fast as I have a meeting with Silvan and his new war captains at noon and we’re getting close. I gather the crystals in both my palms, sitting down in a crisscross position on the floor and closing my eyes. I mumble the enchantment activating the crystals feeling the magic flowing from me into them. As I open my eyes one of them shows my current timeline, the one I’m creating and it doesn’t look halfbad, but the other.. I look at the

  • Her True Mate   The unforeseen Angel

Cian P.O.V.I sigh as the last gate to the Underworld closes behind me. I know father would lock Alora and I out of there if he could, and I’m very relieved with the thought that he can’t, but it still sounds ominous as the last of the locks click into place. “Why did that feel so final?” Alora asks, staring at the gate door. I laugh, hugging her side, glad I’m not completely alone in my gloom. “They can’t lock us out, sis. But you’re right, it did feel kind of weird and…” The bushes behind us rustle in a way they shouldn’t. I push my sister behind me, although she is beside me a second later. We’ll have to talk about that. “If you’re here to harm us..” “I would never do such a foolish thing.” A woman answers, coming out with her hands forward and open so we can see she is unarmed. I can feel the magic pulse in her though, so I keep my guard up. “Then what can we do for you?” I ask, trying to stay polite and calm. The woman looks at us, her eyes too old for her young appearance
