Adelia's Point of View
The last thing I remembered was being hauled across Siya's shoulder. Being dragged into the middle of the fucking battlefield with zero care in the world.
Then a lancing pain in my side, for the second time in the last two days, and everything went black.
Until now.
I could make out the whirr of an engine. People spoke in hushed tones. None of them close to me. None of them could be identified.
My eyelids felt like a ton of bricks were lying on them. Body was stiff and refused to obey me.
"You need to take it easy. Your body isn't coping well with being shot twice." Someone said above me.
My eyelids fluttered but they refused to lift.
"Water..." I barely stammered out. My throat felt like the desert.
There was a shuffling beside me. Someone moving. The voices around me stopped the moment the person moved.
Where was I?
"Here. Drink." The voice commanded and I felt something touch my parched lips.
A straw.
I sucked it into my mouth and gulped the contents down.
When I was done, I let it go and the person set the cup down somewhere beside me.
"Try opening your eyes again. Don't move, it will use up too much energy. Just open your eyes." The voice became clearer in my head.
Had a deep vibrating tone to it.
Recognition clicked into place and my heart dropped into my shoes.
Siya. This was Siya's voice. The man who wanted to kidnap me.
This gave my eyes renewed strength to open.
The light was dim but enough that I could make out my surroundings. We were on a plane. Several other people lay on gurneys inside it. Medical professionals wrote down stuff on their little charts close by.
But I didn't miss the way their eyes darted towards me. Towards Siya.
Holy. Fucking. Hell.
He kidnapped me.
All my muscles tensed at the same time. I recoiled backward, away from him, and into the hull of the plane.
Irritation flashed across his face.
"If I wanted to kill you, I could have done it whilst you were passed out." He snapped and stood up.
Growling, I tightened my body into a ball. Drew everything in.
"Where the fuck are we?" I asked.
Dark eyes narrowed. "A thank you would have sufficed. A bit of cordial banter, even. But no. Start with the hard shit first." He looked more pissed off now.
"Thank you for what? Kidnapping me? Keeping me against my fucking will? Setting your deranged sister loose on an innocent pack? The list of things I could thank you for would be fucking endless then." I hissed.
The pairs of eyes that still remained on us slid away with menacing scowls.
As if I was the fucking wrong one.
Siya pinched the bridge of his nose. Sighed. "We are on our way to my pack. I told you that my sister wanted you to make Felix cough up the uranium he owes us. Be thankful that she didn't send your dead body to him instead."
I gawked at him for a solid second. Noted the IV plugged into my fucking arm. Ripped it out without so much as wincing, even as a droplet of blood dribbled down. "Oh thank you so much, Your Royal Highness, for sparing me. How can I ever repay you for such kindness?" I mocked but kept my face flat.
A muscle ticked in his jaw.
"Are you always this argumentative?"
"Only when someone breaks into my fucking house, attacks my pack and fucking kidnaps me! Sorry if all of my anger is pointed at you because of it. Please, if someone else is responsible, shove me in their direction," I growled. Scooted an inch closer and got into his face. "Or shove me out of this fucking plane because I'm not going with you. I'd rather die."
"Girl got some balls, I'll give her that," Someone muttered a bit down from us.
Siya stifled a smile at the comment. The corner of his lips twitched but his eyes remained hard.
"We are still a good three hours out. Get some sleep in the meantime. Phaedra is back in Makatza so she won't bother coming to see you until she gets back in another two days."
Anger flamed my insides. Spurred me to move before my mind could tell me to stop.
My elbow rammed into his nose. Blood spurted across the floor and I was up. I ran nowhere but kept moving.
Siya didn't give chase. Or I couldn't hear him behind me.
Instead, one of the doctors swung out towards me. I dodged but was caught with something in the arm. Pausing long enough, I noticed the needle and syringe, now empty, stuck in my arm.
"Thank you, Nessa. I didn't think keeping a tranquilizer close would have been necessary. But as always, you were right." Siya said from his position still beside my bed.
My head snapped towards the doctor I thought I had evaded. Glared at the petite woman who stared back at me with a rueful smile.
"What the fuck did you just inject..." My lips refused to finish the sentence. Refused to move at all.
The rest of my body followed closely. Going numb from my toes up.
Siya was beside me in seconds, holding his arms out and around me. Gripped my stomach and hip, pulling me in close to him.
Just his presence suffocated me. Launched an assault on my senses. Every inch we touched felt like flames crawling up my skin.
"How much did you give her?" He asked the woman, menacing growl in tow.
"Enough to keep her body busy until she is settled into the cells." She replied, perky voice matching her exterior perfectly.
Another growl ripped out of Siya's throat. Vibrated through me as my eyes dipped and opened in long intervals.
"She is going to my quarters. If anyone has a problem with that, send them my way, but don't expect them back anytime soon."

The next time I woke up, my head was on fire. But I was in a warm bed with a lot of pillows behind me. I could smell a cup of tea beside the bed. Could also smell the lingering scent of Siya.
It was all around me. Consumed me.
Which only sparked more anger.
"You need to calm down. Your heart is working overtime as is and spiking it now won't help you." A lilting voice came from the bottom of the bed. One I could vaguely remember.
Sitting up a fraction, I came face to face with the woman who had driven the needle into me. Her petite brown face now had a smattering of glitter on it. Her slender frame was draped in soft blue silk.
"Don't take it personally but I tend not to take advice from people who stab me in the arm."
The corner of her lip twitched up. "Now I get why he took a liking to you. You're a feisty one, aren't you?"
"And by taking a liking to me do you mean being my mate? Or don't you guys believe in that kind of crap around here? Because I doubt he's going to be very happy that you are here in the first place." I snapped back, unable to help myself from claiming him.
It came as easily as breathing, despite my better judgment.
The woman's eyes grew wide as saucers. The pleased expression on her face fell away. Replaced by something else. Something darker.
Like fear.
"You're his-"
"Nessa, what the fuck did I tell you about going into my fucking room! You know it's off limits, especially with Adelia in such a fragile state." Siya seethed and burst through the doors.
Nessa jumped off of the bed. Recoiled away from me. "She's your mate, brother? Why didn't you tell me! You can't give her to Phaedra now! You know what she'll do-"
My mind skipped a few words. Drew up a blank.
Then it bit down on the word.
Brother.
"Wait, you have another sister?"
Adelia's Point of View“Get out, Nessa,” Siya growled again and the girl shrunk into herself. My eyes narrowed at him.“If she goes, then so do you,” I replied, keeping my chin high. There was a spark in his eyes. A little more light entered them. As if he was caught by surprise.“You don’t want to know why she is my sister?” He asked me pointedly.Nessa’s eyes hurried between the two of us. Scanned each of us with the same amount of apprehension. Like I was the same person as him. As if I could ever fucking be.Shrugging, I sat upright. Crossed my arms over my chest. “Well, I assume when a mommy wolf loves a daddy wolf very much-““Can we keep her?” Nessa asked, face breaking into a large smile.Siya sighed. Pinched the bridge of his nose. “Go find father. Or anyone else. I would like to talk to Adelia alone.” He urged. The girl stood her ground.“Like she said, if I go, so do you,” Nessa stated and smiled deviously at her brother.I liked her. She caught on fast. Despite her ramming
Adelia’s Point of View“You still haven’t eaten,” Siya said as he strolled into the room. His eyes roamed his surroundings. Looked everywhere but at me.Dinner had come and gone. My plate still sat untouched on the small table beside the door. Right where I had placed it before slamming the door shut in the servant’s face. Two could play his childish little games.“I’m not hungry.” I quipped and shoved away the drawing I had been working on.There was no use in inflating his ego more by letting him see the damned thing.Despite my best efforts, I couldn’t fully capture the intensity of his eyes. Not that I could fully comprehend them even in real life.“That was your excuse for lunch and two tea times as well. I have to send a new server every fucking time because apparently you make them all cry.”“They’re crying because they have to work for you.” I replied and decided to rather crumple up the page I had been drawing on.There was no use in trying to get it right. I wouldn’t be able
Adelia's Point of View“I never thought I would see the day the mighty Siya Mxolisi got blue balls. But here we are and I am so fucking amused.” Nessa chimed, her pace beside me rhythmic.I scowled at her but kept my pace light. Felt my blood course through my veins soothingly. “I’m surprised he actually thought I would sleep with him after he literally kidnapped me,” I replied, venom seeping from every word. Our little tryst in his room was nothing. Meant nothing. Not whilst I was his prisoner. And seeing as that last fact won’t change for a while, I refused to bend to his will.Nessa stiffened at the tone of my voice. Her pace faltered for a second before catching up again. “You don’t seem as angry as I imagined you’d be,” She stated.Across the courtyard, I could see Siya standing beside one of his other guards. His eyes never left my form. Even when he had stormed out of the room after my rejection last night. He still seemed intent on watching me.“There’s no time for anger. Not
Adelia's Point of ViewThe garden emptied on a phantom wind. Syphered away without so much as a word. And I was left to face an angry Siya on my own. How wonderful."What do you think you are doing?" He asked again, grinding his teeth in the process. My eyes snapped up at his. All of my emotions drained out of my features. But I couldn't forget the feel of him. How he held me up against that wall last night. The way he stormed off when I didn't give him exactly what he wanted."I just wanted to know the time. Is that a crime? If so, need I remind you of yours?" I threw back and aimed to leave. Slip right past him and go back to his room. The only place no one else would bother me.Deft fingers launched forward and gripped my upper arm.Cold eyes snapped towards his fingers on me. Disdain shifted my face. Lip curled upward. All a farce. Because just the feel of them caused immense pleasure. Pleasure I had no intention of following through on. But it was there and it was hard to ignore
Adelia's Point of ViewTossing in bed was my new hobby in life. Wondering where Siya was came in close at second place. My mind wandered to him, not my escape, more than I cared to admit. It was infuriating. Distracting. Especially when I knew that Phaedra would be here in the next 48 hours. Or less. The time frame for my escape was closing swiftly and here I was, awake in the middle of the night, pining after her most prized lap dog."This is insufferable," I groaned and turned onto my stomach. The cool sheets wrapped around my cheek. Broke some of the heat from my thoughts. "Tell me about it," A deep voice answered from the door. Flying up, I narrowed my eyes into the darkness. Waited a second for my vision to adjust. "What the fuck are you doing in here?" I asked, unable to stop my voice from wavering a bit.Siya was shirtless. Stood in the door like a pillar of beautiful ebony. His shoulder was pressed against the frame. Eyes keenly on me."Last I checked, this was my room." "
Adelia's Point of View"You look beautiful!" Nessa exclaimed and clapped her hands together in excitement.Eyeing myself in the large mirror, I cringed at how much I looked like my old self. "I look like a whore." I ground out and turned away from the image.Nessa's brows furrowed. Mouth opened slightly as she beheld me. "Well, a beautiful whore. Make all the boy whores go whaaa." I perked up an eyebrow at her. "What an odd fucking statement to make." She seemed offended for a second. Held her hand over her heart. "Don't tell me you never watched Princess Diaries. It was a cultural masterpiece," When I didn't respond, she sighed deeply. "Did you grow up beneath a rock or something? What's wrong with you?" I hadn't grown up under a rock. My father just never allowed me to watch TV. Wanted me to practice my piano and dance. How to become a perfect wife. Everything else took second place to him."Whatever. Let's just get going. I don't want to piss off your brother more than I alrea
Adelia's Point of View"The king will have our heads if one of your spies fucks this up, Harold! That's what I mean by that!" The old geezer's voice carried across the room with an echo. I glanced at a tense Siya by my side. Took in the way he held his head up by his chin. The bored expression on his face. But how utterly taut his body was.Although I found their arguments amusing and lapped up the fact that they were freely letting me in on all of this information, what I didn't like was the fact that we were two hours in and no closer to an end."Fuck the king! Let him find out! Phaedra has plans in place that will stop him from coming even close to us!" Another fool snarled. They were arrogant, then. An easy enemy to read and anticipate, seeing as they had no self-control when it came to their tempers. Their egos made their moves whilst rational thought failed them.Once upon a time, I had been much the same."When is this going to be done?" I asked loudly. Remained staring at my
Adelia's Point of View It was stifling to hear him say those words. Made my blood run cold. What kind of a person was he then, if he couldn't even be loyal to the one person he promised to be? Or was he just fed up and looking for a way to get away from her? Either way, this only solidified to me that I needed to escape. Brave the elements with what little insight I already have. "Then why did you bring me here if you knew I was your mate? Knew that she would use that fact against you? Are you dumb or just arrogant?" I asked, voice steely. Killian shied away from Siya as the larger male ground his teeth together. Looked ready to slaughter anyone and anything in sight. I was pressing on a nerve, then. "I had a duty to these people-" "But not to me?" I shrilled back, nostrils flaring. "I don't even know why I thought you would put me first. How stupid, right? I mean, not like I'm your mate or anything." I seethed, feeling more heat rise to my cheeks. By now Killian was shifti
