Emma’s POV

“My God, I’m so exhausted,” I cried out as I threw myself onto the couch.

“You can’t be as exhausted as I am,” Liam responded, plopping down on the couch opposite me.

“You’re kidding, right?” I scoffed, propping up my body with my shoulders, so I could have a good look at him.

“I mean, I did greet a lot of people,” he shrugged his shoulders and then burst out laughing. “Don’t mind me, I’m just kidding”.

“You think you’re such a comedian sometimes, don’t you?” I shook my head, then rested my head again.

“I try,” he laughed. “On a serious note though, thank you for tonight. For all the effort you put towards making sure everything went according to plan. I really appreciate it for real. I mean you were on your feet for most of the being and you didn’t complain once, just went along with everything. You truly are an amazing person, Emma, and I appreciate you,” he said.

His tone seemed so soft and genuine, like he was in actual awe of me.

It made me melt.

“Thank you,”

Emma’s POV“Honeymoon time!” I squealed, bouncing on the bed hard enough to make Liam groan and pull the pillow over his head.“What’s going on?” he mumbled with a thick voice full of sleep as he carefully fluttered his eyes open. “Wake up, sleepyhead,” I tugged the blanket away from his face, staring at him with a huge grin plastered across my face. “We’ve got to start getting ready to head to the airport if we’re going to catch our flight in time”.“Five more minutes,” he whined, burying his face back into the pillow like a child.“No”.“You know all of this could’ve been avoided if we just took my dad’s jet right?” he groaned.“I’m aware but it’s still a no,” I laughed, smacking his shoulder lightly. “Now, we’re not missing our flight because you want to cuddle your pillow”.Slowly, he peeked at me, his hair sticking up in every possible direction, his eyes squinting against the sunlight. “What if I want to cuddle you instead?”The words were low, teasing, and entirely unfair. My

Emma’s POVIt was finally D-day… not the day that had been forced on me months ago, not the day where I had stood at the altar out of duty and resentment, but the day I had dreamed of ever since I realized I was in love with Liam Henderson. This was my real wedding day.As my girls and I were getting dolled up in one of the guest rooms at the Henderson residence, all I could hear were wedding bells… not literally, of course.I’ve been waiting for this day for months and I’m so glad it’s finally here. The day I get married to the love of my life, Liam Henderson. As I thought about all the day was yet to offer, I sat quietly in front of the mirror, my hands folded in my lap, my heart racing faster than I could keep up with.I’d been waiting for this day for months, and now that it was here, I couldn’t stop the swirl of emotions inside me.“Babe, are you good?” Sammy asked as she came up to my side with a look of worry on her face. “You’ve been awfully quiet for the past hour”.“I’m fine

Liam’s POVIt’s wedding day.Yes. That’s right. It’s the day I get married to Emma… for real this time. Not the wedding that had once been forced upon us, not the cold transaction arranged by our families. This time it was real. Our choice, our love, our promise. I had imagined this day so many times, but now it had finally arrived and I could hardly believe it.The morning sunlight spilt across my parents’ estate, casting everything in a soft glow that made the day feel charmed. The house was buzzing with quiet excitement. Footsteps were pattering across the hallways, laughter drifting in from the garden where the florists worked their final touches, and the faint sound of music floating from the room where Emma and her bridesmaids were getting ready. And me? I sat in my childhood bedroom, Ryan lounging across from me with a grin on his face, and three of my college friends who stood in as groomsmen were cracking lighthearted jokes to keep me calm. No amount of jokes could distract m

Emma’s POV“Hey, baby. How’s the wedding planning going?” Ryan’s thick voice spoke up from behind me.“Baby?” I looked at him with a raised brow before turning my face to Sammy. “Girl, you better get your man,” I laughed.“Behave, Ryan,” she jokingly smacked him.“Ouch,” he feigned hurt and laughed. “You know I’m trolling, Ems,” he said as he walked up to me and hugged me, placing a kiss on my cheek.“I know,” I smiled. “Liam’s downstairs waiting for you in the car”.“Thank you,” he said to me, then walked up to Sammy and kissed her. “Bye, baby”.“Bye,” she and I chorused to him as he walked out of the house.“Hi, my love,” she greeted me with a grin as wide as that of a Cheshire Cat.“Calm down with the grin. You’re creeping me out,” I chuckled as I kicked off my shoes.“Yeah, yeah,” she rolled her eyes. “Sit down and tell me about the flowers you picked,” she urged, pulling up a seat at the kitchen island.“Yes, ma’am”.“Before you start, just know that I’m still pissed that you had

Liam’s POV“Liam Henderson!” Emma’s loud voice rumbled throughout the apartment as she walked through the front door.Yeah, that could only mean one thing.I was in some sort of deep shit.Fuck. On a regular day, there are a lot of things that Emma gets mad at me for. Whether it’s that I didn’t lay the bed properly, or I didn’t put Amelia’s toys away properly, or that I just didn’t fill up the dishwasher properly. Unfortunately, this wasn’t one of those days. Why? Because she has just gotten him back. So, it could only mean one thing. Her father got to her before I did.“Yes, my love,” I stood up from my spot on the couch, turning to face her, trying to feign a look of innocence and confusion, as she made her way up to me.“Why the hell did I just get off the phone with my dad calling me to thank you again for what happened at your office today?”Yup. Called it. “Babe…” I started, walking around the couch and up to her so that we were directly in front of each other. “First of all,

  • Her Unexpected Love Story    Chapter One Hundred and Seventy-Three

Liam’s POVLast night, as Emma and I were at her parents' place, while she spoke with her mum just before we left, it hit me that to properly start this new journey with Emma, whereby our marriage is free from anything linking back to the initial agreement that got us married in the first place, I had to cancel the deal my father has made with hers two years ago. Of course, that wasn’t a conversation that was going to happen on the spot. However, it didn’t feel right to have it drag any further than it needed to. So, while Emma was engrossed in conversation with her mother, I spoke to her father in a hushed tone, asking him to come to my office this morning for a talk. It wasn’t a conversation that I wanted to involve Emma in until things between him and I were settled, so, while Emma was a bit upset with me this morning, as we both got ready for work, because I chose to continuously evade giving her an answer when she asked what he and I spoke about last night in hushed tones, I fi
