Another day passed and Aria was still in Zavier's penthouse making it more lively and human. The darkness was still there but her light was erasing it gradually. The penthouse was feeling more like a home than a place with just furniture and walls. Zavier had lived a sufficient amount of time in the apartment with her and it was much more than his visits in the penthouse usually. She's been keeping him sane and rational since she entered his life.

The penthouse had a rhythm now. Not a loud one

Daisy reached with Aria, out of their apartment building. As soon as Aria saw the familiar building, her eyes lit up. She remembered the park in which she used play and then the floor of her apartment. Daisy walked to the elevator with her and she obediently walked beside her. Daisy looked down at Aria, her eyes filled with pity and concern. She shouldn't have gone through all of it, at such a young age. Soon the elevator doors opened and they both stepped out together. The corridor outside Innara's apartment smelled faintly of disinfectant and old paint- too ordinary for a moment that felt like it might split the world open. Aria smiled as soon as she saw the door of her apartment. Daisy stood in front of the door, her hand hovering inches away from the bell. Aria clung to her leg, fingers curled tight into the fabric of her skirt, eyes wide and curious and tired all at once. She had fallen asleep in the car- in which Zavier ordered his men to take both of them to their home, wo

(Translation: She was not meant to be taken.) "No estaba destinada a ser llevada." She said. Aria tugged at Daisy's dress. (Translation: As if that makes it better. If not her, today Sophia would have been at her place.) "Grandma Daisy, don't be angry, He didn't hurt me." she said earnestly, defending him. Daisy looked down at her, heart shattering all over again. "No, sweetie, I'm not angry at you." she said softly. Her gaze lifted back to Zavier, sharp now despite the tears. "Pero su madre debe de estar muriendo." She said. Zavier's jaw tightened. Daisy stood fully, drawing herself up with a strength that surprised even her. (Translation: But her mother must be dying.) "En algún lugar hay una mujer que llevó a esta niña en su vientre, que la crió, que la arropaba en la cama todas las noches, y hoy cree que su hija se ha ido para siempre." she said, voice shaking with restrained emotion. Aria frowned, sensing the shift in mood. (Translation: There is a woman somewhe

Not a loud one. Not chaotic. But different from before. Morning light slipped through the sheer curtains, softer than the harsh glare Zavier usually allowed into his life. Somewhere down the corridor, a small voice hummed- tuneless, happy, completely unaware of the weight of the world it had been dragged into. He didn't apply any rules on her because she didn't need one. She doesn't trouble him or create any mess. She just silently does her work, sometimes drawing something on the sheets he provided for her

Weapons. Bodies. Power. Never something this light. Never something that breathed softly against his chest. The penthouse was silent as he walked down the hallway toward his bedroom, lights dimming automatically with each step. The walls reflected faint shadows- long, distorted shapes that followed him like ghosts. The door to his room opened. The space inside was vast, darker than the rest of the penthouse. Heavy blackout curtains framed the windows, muting the city lights into a dull glow. The bed dominated the room- large, wide, dressed in black and charcoal linen. It had never been chosen for comfort. Only for dominance. Space. Control. Zavier approached it slowly. When he lowered Aria onto the mattress, the contrast was jarring. Her small body sank immediately into the bed, the dark sheets swallowing her almost entirely. The pillow dwarfed her head. One leg slipped awkwardly, too short to reach the edge. She looked impossibly small. For a fraction of a second, something t

Soon the elevator doors slid open without a sound. Zavier stepped out first, long coat draped over one shoulder, posture relaxed in the way only men who own the ground beneath them can afford to be. And Aria's curious gaze roamed everywhere. Soon the doors opened by his biometrics. When they entered inside, the penthouse doors finally closed behind them, the space felt different, too quiet, too pristine, too unprepared for a child's presence. Aria looked around with wide eyes because all she could see was darkness and she was scared of it. She just wanted to hide somewhere but her momma wasn't there to hide her in her embrace. She looked around and then she frowned, scooted a little closer to his feet. Her small hand clutched the fabric of his pants. He felt a gentle tight and looked down at her. "What happened?" He questioned. "It's big and so black. Dark. I'm scared." she whispered. "Yes. I'm here." he said. The penthouse lights activated automatically- soft, recessed i

Night had settled heavily over Mexico City, the skyline a jagged crown of lights under a sky bruised with clouds. From the underground base, engines hummed as vehicles lined up in quiet efficiency. Zavier moved through the corridor without a word, long strides measured, expression carved from stone. Everything was done. Orders given. Loose ends tied. The mistake identified. The men had their rewards for making the mistake- hell. The child was not supposed to matter. She was supposed to be returned, reassigned, erased from his attention after Mateo's surrender like every other miscalculation that crossed his path. Yet his steps slowed as he reached the final junction- one corridor leading to the exit, the other toward the secured rooms deeper inside the base. Zavier stopped something in his stirred. His men paused several feet behind him, instinctively silent. They didn't ask questions. They had learned long ago that when Zavier stopped like this, something inside him was turning
