Chapter 21 - Underdog at Work
Bridda was on the phone when I called out "Dinner is ready!"
It took her a few minutes and by the time she sat down, her parents were almost done.
"Is the food not good?" I asked Bridda as she was toying with her utensils.
"Uhumm.. It is okay," father-in-law clears his throat and replies. This family never admits how good my cooking is.
"I think I lost my appettite." Bridda sighed. "If only we can get an invitation, Grandma will be very pleased. She had put me and Aaron in a contest so as determine the next CEO for the company. She plans to make an announcement on her birthday next Friday.
"So what do you need to do?" I asked her as I also took my seat and start to eat my dinner.
Bridda was holding her fork but it just went in circles around her bowl.
"First the invitation. It will be a plus point to have an attendance in the masquerade ball. Of course, it will basically boil to getting an ad slot.
