Chapter 07

"I am the God of war they say but never did I became bad, I'm as good as the Sun, but I am neither kind when it comes to my interests. I am the Son of Ephelitius and I am your brother, Finesia."

The raindrops stopped and my vision was covered with light, it means he's telling the truth. No wonder, the world suddenly stopped.

"How did you do that?" I asked.

"What? Stopping the time?" he asked back.

Time? Is it only the time? I bit my lower lip and let out a deep sigh. "Yes, the time...how did you, I mean what's happening?" I asked annoyingly.

He burst out of laugh and I heard a whistle coming from nowhere, I turned my head around the forest but I didn't see anyone.

"Who was that?" I asked looking at him curiously.

"He's someone you can't see, he's just uh...what do you call this? Invisible? Yeah, that!" He snapped his fingers and the forest began to move again, but Jeneva was still petrified.

"How...?" I hurriedly stepped back, but I felt someone pressed my body from my back.

"Oh, don't do that. She's still a child you know," Ares said pressing his lips upwards.

It's really frustrating me to the point that I want him gone. He's a mad man, no---a mad God.

"What do you want?" I asked.

He pressed his palm on his forehead and shook his head heavily. "I don't need anything, I just want to see the child that my mother wanted to be killed."

Killed? He's talking about me.

No matter what, I shouldn't trust him. I clenched my fist and veins coming from my inside body was visible enough as I greeted my teeth preparing to attack.

Amusement was written on his face when his eyes landed on me. He suddenly disappeared from my sight and found myself beside him, he didn't disappear but I was transmitted beside him.

"You're not gonna win against the two of us Finesia, your body is still a human. You might end up dead before awakening your power, " He whispered through my ear and I heard him chuckled when I tried stepping back.

"I'll be watching you, and remember, there's always a price within the happiness. You can never acquire it because it's not meant for you, you're only an eye of the truth."

His presence disappeared with his invisible companion. I was left alone, curious and unable to fill in my empty thoughts.

"Finesia! Why did you take it off?" Jeneva hurriedly wrapped the white fabric around my eyes.

It's like nothing did happen.

Can I really trust her? She's kind and maybe she's just like them, willing to take care of me, but what if she dies too?

We arrived at the place where Mariano's house is. Jeneva knocked the door three times and it opened, Mariano was scratching his neck while yawning.

He stopped when he saw us and checked the outside where we are standing if someone is with us.

"What are you doing here Jeneva?" asked by Mariano and invited us inside.

"Mariano, we need your help to convince Jake." Jeneva took a cup of water and gave it to me.

Mariano took a glance at my direction when I removed the cloth from my eyes. He gulped and look away when our eyes met.

"For what?" He asked.

"We need his carriage to go in the Capital," she said holding my request inside her.

Mariano's expression suddenly darken. "Are you crazy?!" he asked angrily.

I played with my fingers to cover my embarrassment, it was my request after all. I shouldn't have acted reckless, Jeneva will be in danger because of me.

"It's an emergency, we might be able to help her. She knows someone from the capital—"

"Shut up Jeneva, you don't know how dangerous the capital is. Knights are there, one move and you'll be imprisoned!" he accused, cutting Jeneva's words.

He looked at me and closed his eyes firmly. "There's no way we can help you, we aren't noble that can easily walk pass inside the capital. We are lower than commoners, " he said trying to convince me.

I let out a deep sigh and nodded before looking at Jeneva who wasn't expecting my answer.

"I shouldn't bother you, you might get in danger because of me. I'm fine traveling with my own, " I said with a smile.

"Finesia you can't do that, you're still a child. Mariano, please.... just, let's help her." Jeneva tried to convince Mariano but he just shook his head.

Jeneva walked out and Mariano followed her. I heard them arguing, it's because of me.

I wrapped the white fabric around my eyes and walked slowly to reach the door.

I slowly opened the door and the wind was the first one that welcomed me. I smiled and stepped out from the house, I must leave before Jeneva finds out.

Everything seems like watching me, the birds, the trees, and even the wind, embracing me in every steps I take.

I shudder and breathe heavily as I felt the pain inside me, the pain I kept hidden, the pain I didn't want to forget but I don't want to feel. The sorrow appeared and my tears came, it pains me.

It hurts being alone, it hurts when I remember everything that happened to them. I want it to stop, I want it gone.

but I don't want to forget them, because stopping the pain in my heart means forgetting about them, I don't want that.

I pressed my chest to ease the pain, it will disappear. To have a sorrow is a sin to bare, I don't need to feel pain, I don't need to be loved nor love.

It will gone, gone....gone.

Why? It isn't disappearing, the pain, inside me, is still there.

I slipped my feet realizing that I was near in the cliff. The feeling of being thrown to the cliff while my eyes were glued on Leia, smiling at me, and died.

I opened my arms wide, open and confident, my smile become broad grin and jumped off to the cliff.

The cloth was removed from my eyes and I can see the sun, shining so brightly in the midst of falling.

I was about to close my eyes when I saw a man standing on the end cliff, he was looking at me, without any emotion on his face.

His eyes were brilliantly reflective to the bright of sun, scorching with blaze as he look down on me, falling onto the cliff.

Who, who is he?
