Chapter 3

"Henry, I have been waiting for you since the old divine doctor called, and you have finally arrived today. Come in. The door is open!"

John Miller went to the door to greet Henry because he had not seen him in a while.

Henry immediately smiled when he saw him and said, "Grandpa Miller!"

"Have you two met?" John looked at his granddaughter.

Lydia looked awkward.

"We met during the day," Henry said.

"Well, that's quite a coincidence. Perhaps it's destined.

"Today is a good day to get married. You can go do that after lunch." John laughed heartily.

He thought highly of the old divine doctor's medical skills. His students should be just as good.

Henry was stunned momentarily, finally realizing that the gorgeous lady was his fiancée, Lydia Miller.

He could not help but keep observing her with his eyes, focusing on specific areas.

Lydia had also noticed Henry's gaze, which reminded her of the incident from the night before. She felt even more embarrassed.

Not only did he take advantage of her vulnerability the previous night, but he also happened to be her fiancé.

Lydia was still upset about what had happened the night before and got even more frustrated with what she had just discovered.

John was happy, but a middle-aged couple beside him had a frown on their faces as if they were dissatisfied.

They were Lydia's parents.

Their daughter was beautiful, and she also happened to be the CEO of the Miller Group.

A slew of wealthy individuals pursued her. How did she end up with such a brash ruffian?

Lydia's mother, Jennifer Miller, could not help but say to John, "Father, you intend to marry Lydia to this guy?

"Look at how he's dressed. What a shame if our daughter marries him."

"Yes, this will turn the Millers into a joke." Lydia's father, William Miller, voiced his dissatisfaction.

"Stop the nonsense. Henry is not a bumpkin. He has been living in the mountains and doesn't know much about the world. You guys should take care of him even more."

"Their marriage is already decided," John said in a determined tone, ending the discussion.

The couple did not dare to say anything more.

Even though John had handed over the company's business to Lydia, no one dared to challenge him.

Lydia understood that well. Hence, she was mentally prepared for that.

The only surprise was that her fiancé was a bumpkin ruffian who took advantage of her vulnerability the previous night. He had also just left the mountains.

It did not matter because she would show him the difference, forcing him to leave.

Furthermore, it would be impossible for him to get his hands on her!

Lydia drove Henry to the Civil Affairs Bureau at noon, as John requested.

It did not take them long to finish the paperwork, and they came out very quickly.

As he looked at Lydia's frosty face in the photo on the marriage certificate, Henry shook his head and said, "Why can't you look happier?"

"Happier? How can I be happy marrying a ruffian like you who knows nothing but bragging?"

"You're wrong. I'm pretty amazing."

"You?"

"Yes, especially in medical skills. Everyone calls me the divine doctor!"

Pfft.

"You are the divine doctor?! I am the god of medicine if you're the divine doctor! Stop wasting your breath. I'm not a three-year-old who you can fool." Lydia sneered.

"Okay." Henry shrugged helplessly.

"Good to hear you understand. What happened last night was an accident. We are from different worlds. Things will never be possible between us."

"That's hard to say. You might admire me once you get to know me better. You might not be able to resist falling in love with me."
