Anything for the kids.

"Oh my goodness! That is the father of the twins!" There is no way this could be true. If he discovered who I was, what would happen? Would he still give me the job if he found out about the kids? He might want to harm them, oh no, this is not happening.' She pondered within herself, she was not aware of her mental freeze as she was astounded beyond belief.

"Hello!!!" Her train of thought was abruptly interrupted by Mr. Cage. Many years had passed, and he could not recall her. Besides, he had been too preoccupied with trying to get her out of the hotel room that evening to really notice her facial features.

"Pardon me, sir. I am Ms. Nia, and I-I was chosen for this job." Despite her best efforts, she could not help but succumb to the overwhelming urge to swallow her saliva, as nerves were glaring at her.

"Yes, it was me who asked for you, dummy, " He said, Her heart skipped a beat at his arrogant tone. She could still feel the sweat trickling from her brow even with the air conditioning in the office running.

'Who is this girl? She brings up a memory, but I can not seem to put my hands on it; I am not sure where I saw this her." Mr. Cage thought to himself.

"And why are you still standing there looking silly? Please take a seat; and stop acting foolish." He said. What would truly happen if he found out she was his children's mother? Look how depraved he is; his arrogance is beyond comprehension.

Startled, Nia immediately sat down with her heart thumping loudly. In her entire life, she had never witnessed someone so conceited.

"Hello, welcome to Cage Enterprise. My name is Mr. Cage, and I am your CEO. I saw your works firsthand, and I must say, I was impressed. However, it seems that your work is more impressive than you." In spite of his efforts to remember Nia, Mr. Cage claimed to have remained composed and professional.

Nia was really not in the office; instead, her focus was on that one night—the night she lost everything—She just kept a dead pan look on her face as she gazed at him with his voice echoing in her head.

"Ah, yes, sir, Cage Enterprise is a prestigious company. I had to work extremely hard to catch an attention, but I do not understand what you said about me being less impressive than my work." She spoke to the man sitting directly in front of her, a hint of fear was palpable in tone, she fought hard not to swallow her saliva.

"I must quit this job; I do not really need to work here, but I have already used a portion of the signing bonus, and if I do not give it to him, he might sue me. Oh my god, I wish I had known it was him." She thought to herself.

"You came in here looking like a dumb twat; I know I am handsome, but please hold on to your professionalism, woman. You are not professional enough. Your clothing is out of style; you dress like ladies from the nineteenth century." Her shoulder felt heavily burdened by his remarks; who was he to criticize her appearance?

Even as she attempted to keep eye contact with him, Nia was compelled to face her appearance and started to criticize it. "I knew this pair of pants was not meant for me." She contemplated in her mind.

"However, let us set that aside for the time being. It is explicitly stated in the documents that you automatically become my "Personal Assistant" as soon as you sign the contract." He stated, Nia had read that section of the documents, and she consented to it, but she would not have consented if she had known it was this perverted demon.

"Yes, sir, I am fully aware." She answered, a little tense, but she knew she had to own up to her mistakes.

"All right, we will go see the site you are working on tomorrow, but in the meantime, I need you to do something for me." He asked, flipping through a file as if looking for something in it.

"All right, sir, what exactly is my job?" She responded.

"These are some proposals from our partners; I would like you to review them, pick the best one, and bring it to me later." He said, pointing to a stack of files.

Nia was taken aback by the amount of work assigned to her on her first day, but she knew she was not there to have fun.

"And I need them finished by the end of today." He commanded.

Mr.Cage was a really mean young man; he was the type of boss who could fire you for smiling at the wrong time, from the position of the tables to the standing position of employees, he always wanted everything to be perfect.

He had never seen ten percent imperfection; everything he did or attempted to do had to be perfect, including the size of his food.

"Certainly, sire." Nia stated as she attempted to pack the files.

"Hold on, my secretary will see you to your office." He then picked up the phone and dialed a number, and almost immediately, a lady entered, assisting Nia with packing the files.

"And Nia!" He called out, she turned around and looked at Mr. Cage, who gave her a morbid look.

"I want it done perfectly well, you may leave." He stated. Nia walked out of the office right away; everything that had just happened was strange to her, and she did not want to spend another second in there.

She was a bit relieved knowing that the CEO didn't recall her.

"Conan!!! " He yelled. Almost immediately, a stout man on black suit who was standing right in front of the office, walks into the room.

"Yes sire." He responds with a bass tone.

"From today, I need you to keep on eye on that lady, find out everything there is about her, and get me explicit information." Mr. Cage commands, he was really serious about finding out about Nia, she struck a memory but he couldn't really get a hold of it.

"Yes sir, " He bows," Anything else. " He inquired.

"Not for now, you may leave. " He responded, wiggling his fingers as the man exited the office.

*******

Nia was now in her office.

"You are fortunate to have survived that session with your heart still intact." The secretary said this while arranging the file on the table, not looking at Nia.

Nia was perplexed by her words; what exactly did she mean by "with her heart intact?"

"What do you mean? Can you please be more specfic?" Her brow furrowed as she adjusted her gaze to the secretary.

"Well, the last lady who saw the CEO attempted suicide after the CEO told her that she was not fit to be a human being." She responded.

Nia's heart began to pound violently; was this secretary trying to scare her or was she joking?

"And now that you are here, brace yourself for years of harsh criticism; do not worry, you will grow to it; I have been working here for years, and my body can withstand his words like a bulletproof vest." The secretary stated.

Nia's eyes widened, her jaw dropped, and she could not believe what she had just gotten herself into. Not only was this perverted demon her children's father, she was about to spend six years with the meanest CEO in history.

“See you later ma'am, hope you're not the next person the ambulance would be rushing out.” She said as she left the office.

Nia was speechless, she had nothing to say, she tried to figure out why she signed those papers.

Recalling the kids was the only thing that left her mind at ease, she was ready to bear all the pain in the world just to make them happy.

Ring!!!

A loud telephone in the office jolted her out of her thoughts.

“Nia, I need you in my office immediately.”

Chapter Twenty-Four: The First StoneThree weeks later, the chaos of the naval depot felt like a distant nightmare, though the physical and emotional scars remained vivid. Tom Hardy and Vicky were locked away in high-security isolation, facing an avalanche of charges ranging from kidnapping and attempted murder to treason. Frank and Marcus, with the quiet support of Mr. Cage's top legal team, were busy laundering their own records, turning them from former mercenaries into highly effective, newly contracted members of Cage Enterprise Security. The most difficult adjustment, however, was internal.Mr. Cage sat at the head of the impossibly long dining room table in his mansion, trying to focus on his morning coffee. Nia sat across from him, looking radiant but exhausted, attempting to coax Mira into eating a piece of fruit. Destiny and Stanley were already engaged in a low-volume argument about a construction set, an argument Mr. Cage now listened to with a terrifyingly sharp sense of

She rushed to Ice, who lay motionless on the marble floor, a spreading crimson stain darkening his side."Marcus, check Ice!" she ordered, her voice sharp with adrenaline and fear.Marcus, the scarred guard, was already there, kneeling beside his friend. He tore away the blood-soaked tactical gear, revealing the wound. "It's bad, but it missed the spine and the major organs. He's lost a lot of blood. He needs immediate medical attention, Frank!"Frank, who had been covering the unconscious Vicky, immediately called their backup team on the specialized, untraceable comms frequency

Nia grabbed Mira with one hand and Stanley with the other. "Stay low! Follow me!"Meanwhile, Mr. Cage, despite the remaining restraints on his wrists, was fully engaged. The black transport van, now repurposed as a vehicle of salvation, tore through the coastal night toward the old military installation marked on Frank’s tablet. Inside, the intensity of the situation was etched onto every face. Frank and Marcus, the scarred guard, worked swiftly, preparing their passengers for the ultimate infiltration.Mr. Cage was running purely on adrenaline and the devastating truth Nia had revealed. The shock of learning he was the father of Stanley and Mira had stripped away his ego, leaving him raw and focused. He was a man reborn, but his rebirth was baptized in blood and guilt."The uniform," Mr. Cage muttered, accepting the black tactical shirt Marcus handed him. "Hardy expects us to be prisoners.""He expects us to be captured prisoners, Mr. Cage," Frank corrected, securing a heavy vest over his own chest. "The difference is subtle. You and Nia will walk in restrained, but you will be wearing your own clothes underneath Hardy's men’s uniforms. When the time

  • Hiding the twins from their billionaire father.    Back fire

Chapter NineteenThe air in Tom Hardy’s mansion tasted of ozone and plaster dust. Nia and Mr. Cage scrambled down the back staircase, their movements clumsy in the pitch black. Mr. Cage was still partially cuffed, his right wrist free, but his left hand still shackled to the heavy metal chair, which he dragged and kicked against the stone steps."My car is parked five blocks west," Mr. Cage whispered, pulling Nia's arm. "We need to get out the back entrance before those guards secure the perimeter.""He knew we were coming, Cage," Nia countered, her eyes darting through the gloom. "He'll have the back exit covered too. We need to split up and create a distraction.""No splitting up!" he snapped, the fear for their children overriding his usual bravado. "We stick together. We find the kids. That's the priority."They burst through the heavy kitchen door and into the manicured garden, the sounds of shouting guards and blaring alarms fading slightly behind them. As they sprinted toward t

"Where is he?" Arrow roared, struggling to his feet after the impact of the taxi rammed into his men. The air was thick with the scent of burning rubber and spilled oil. Two of his men were groaning on the asphalt, but the remaining three were quickly recovering, their weapons aimed at the lone figure standing over the terrified children.Ice didn't flinch. His knife was poised, reflecting the stark, fluorescent lights of the parking garage. The children, Destiny, Stanley, and Mira, were scrambling toward the main entrance, fueled by adrenaline and Stanley’s shouted code."You won't touch them," Ice growled, his body a rigid shield. He knew he couldn't win a sustained fight against three armed men, but he had to buy them time.Arrow sneered. "Such loyalty for a dead man's kid. A shame. It ends now, Ice."Just as the command to fire was forming on Arrow's lips, a high-pitched, insistent siren pierced the night. A black, unmarked SUV skidded into the garage entrance, tires squealing.
