I picked up the empty chip packets and bowl, that previously had a fruit salad in it, from the carpet before going into the kitchen. Discarding the mess in the trash and the bowl in the sink, I went back to the living room. 

Five minutes ago, I was deep into a game that I started playing a few minutes after I came back from the picnic. Sleep soon caught up to me and retiring to bed was what my body sang hymns for at this point. 

I got my phone from the sofa and pressed the power button. I looked at the time and was surprised to see that it was almost midnight. It's weird how fast time flies when you are doing something unproductive. 

The doorbell rang and I looked at the door, wondering who it might be at this hour. I didn't order anything so, I decided to ignore it because it would obviously go away if the person thinks I'm not around or figures that they have the wrong apartment.
