The table was thrown into a trance like silence as Higan and I stared at my dad in shock. My grip around the cup tightened and I frowned at his downcast face as I grasped onto every word that he had said - still failing to believe his words.

"What?" I asked, the word barely slipping through my clenched teeth.

"I'm sorry. I know that no amount of reason can justify the way that I-"

"You left us because of that!?" I yelled and he flinched at the bitterness in my voice.

"Jamie-" Hig cut in, putting his arm around my shoulder but I pushed it away.

"No! That was a jerk move. If you knew how hard it was when the both of you were trying to support us, how do you think she'd handle it by herself?"

"I'm sorry," Dad muttered with an utterly sorrowful voice and tears of frustration and anger filled my eyes at the sight.

This man didn't have the right to be sad. How dare he mess things up and expect us to throw ourselves in his arms!?
