"Woah, I haven't even done anything yet." Damian raised his hand in mock surrender, his mouth twitching.

His brother held a bat in his hand, and it amused him. It suddenly felt like they were kids again, pranking and always on each other's throats- until they separated, each one to their own different universities.

"Keep it down." Darian thrusted the bat forward.

Damian released the book and it went reeling to the table, where it was before.

"You prolly have a lot of secrets in that book, with the way you made me drop it." Damian commented, when Darian walked over. He had thrown the bat to a corner and snatched the notepad from the table. Now, he glared at Damian from the corner of his eyes.

"Hey, doppelganger. How have you been?" Damian said to him after some seconds of silence punctuated occasionally by sounds from the city below.

"You actually sound like you care right now," Darian tsked. He refilled the glass that Damian had kept on the table and took slow sips of the win

3 days later, it was mid-day when Olivia enfolded Rosie in one last near hug before the latter climbed into the limousine that waited patiently in front of the mansion where Olivia resided. "I still think it's not a good idea for you to return to that place, Rosie." Olivia tucked her head in the limo and whispered, trying her best to convince Rosie to stay with them or at least, accept an apartment offer from her. "I know you're concerned about my safety, love... But I'm gonna be just fine, okay?" "You can always call me when you need my help," Olivia finally resigned and drew away from the limo. Just before it drove off, Ivan Arthur stepped out with his flank of men. They were dressed in black, as accustomed, wore shades and had earpieces latched on their ears. "Rosie, I suppose..." Ivan stopped walking, and his men halted in their stead. "Yes," Rosie blushed, feeling honored to be noticed by him "... Sir." "Alright. Come again when you're free, okay?" "Definitely, sir.

It was lone in the suburb where Rosie's dainty cottage stood, as always. He pushed his lanky figure at the door but it wouldn't give way, so he slithered around the cottage, searching for clues that might suggest that she had been around. That his prey had gotten back here after frolicking around with that bastard son of a bitch. But there was none. His fist clenched in rhythm with his jaw as he stared at the window to her room with bloodshot eyes. Soon, she would be his. He would bask in her very screams of torture as he punishes her for running away from him. She was only meant for him. She could only be with him. Either he or she has to die for them to be separated from each other, and even if he did, his ghost would haunt her till she joins him in deathly matrimony! * * * As soon as they arrived at the estate, Olivia ensured that the maids attended to Rosie. She entrusted her into Marietta's hands. They bathed her wi

Saying Rosie was mad is an understatement, she was infuriated beyond words. She dropped her utensils with a clatter and picked her bag. Olivia's firm hand held her back. She turned to look at her with eyes that suggested torture, murder and every bad thing there is in life. "Please, don't go just yet." "I..." Rosie shook her head, feeling her breath hitch just as tears welled in her eyes. "I'll get you back to the estate in one piece, Rosie. This whole thing..." Olivia gestured in the direction of Darian's table "May not be what you think." "What would you do if you were in my shoe?" Rosie questioned sharply, her red eyes latched on her friend now. "I need to get the details of all that happened during the trip, Rosie." Rosie slid into her seat, demotivated and depressed. She stared sadly at her glass of wine and Olivia took the cue, filling it while keeping her eyes on Rosie who turned back to Darian a couple of times before taking the glass of wine and gulping it at a go.

"You've been moody the whole day, Rosie." Olivia peered at Rosie from the wooden barrier that barricaded them in the office restroom. It was almost 6:00 pm and thanks to Olivia, Rosie still lingered in the company. "I'm just a bit exhausted, I guess..." Rosie told her with a faltering smile. She dried off her hands and tossed the used napkins into the trashcan. "Let's not go home then," Olivia suggested, drying off her hands as well. "Huh?" "Let's go to a fancy restaurant and eat all our problems away, what do you say to that?" "But I had a burger earlier and I don't think I'm hungry just yet..." The rumbling from her belly cut her off and Olivia pointed in the direction of her belly. "Did you hear that?" "I did," Rosie rolled her eyes, smiling genuinely now. She could not believe her stomach, giving her away even before she could finish talking. "Yikes. Let's move." Olivia took a look at her watch and exited the restroom and her office while keeping the door open and urging

Damian stared into his system, his eyes hooded with worry that no one could decipher even after studying him for minutes. He sat with the calmness of one whose life was on track, and his fingers flew over the keypads as he sent a letter of dismissal to one of his workers. He had found the man out on inspection. He was a spy, sent from God knows where. The man refused to spill the bean in spite of the logical torture that Damian had put him under, so Damian resorted to subjecting him to physical torture. Even so, the man would not budge. Not planning to stain his hands just yet, Damian had told his men to let him off the hook. He had a clue that he was sent by Olivia, and it was the secondary reason to why he had not harmed him in any way. Now, he sat stoically after pressing send and wondered how far she intended to go with her plot to destroy him. He was already half as rich as he was before. The company was cutting down on cost even when everything seemed buttered up on the outs
