The ride home was quiet. The past few hours lingered between them, heavy and alarming.

Ethan kept one hand on the steering wheel, the other wrapped protectively around Hannah’s fingers. He hadn’t let go of her hand since they left the damp building.

Hannah sat curled up in the passenger seat, wrapped in his jacket. The hospital gown she wore felt thin, exposing her to the chill that had settled in her bones. She wanted to say something— to thank him, to tell him how much she thought about him— but the words felt stuck in her throat.

Ethan broke the silence first.

“What do you want for dinner?” His voice was low, rough with emotion even though he wanted to portray it differently.

Hannah turned her head, studying his profile. The sharp edge of his jaw, the tightness in his grip, the way his eyes remained fixed on the road as if looking at her might break something inside him.

“Can’t you just say it?” Hannah let out a breathy voice.

Ethan tightened his grip on her hand. “Say what?”

  • Hired My Ex's Sister as Wife   What Happens Tomorrow

Savannah It felt like I had woken up inside a bad dream. I thought I was the one setting traps, and playing smart, testing Noah to see if he was feeding the cops information. But instead, I walked right into a trap myself. Luka showing up out of nowhere was the last thing I ever could have seen coming. Not in a million years. It was bad, really bad. Luka was what you would call the bitter ex. A mistake I shouldn’t have made. He was dangerous, and if he said he would go to the cops with the tape, then he wasn’t lying. Still, at least Noah didn’t get a chance to hand me over to the cops. That was the only win I could count. But then my mind kept circling back to Leo. Where did he even come from last night? He saved me from Noah, sure, but why was he even there? How did he know I needed him? That’s what scared me. It was like somehow lately everyone knew where I was, Luka, Leo. It didn’t add up.By morning, I was running on almost no sleep. My body was heavy, but my brain wouldn’t stop

SavannahThe second I saw Luka standing across from us with that casual smirk plastered across his face like he owned the place, I could feel my heart racing with anger and dread.“You’ve got to be kidding me,” I said, my voice sharper than I expected. “How the hell did your miserable ass find me?”Luka smirked and stepped closer, and shrugged. “Come on, Sav. You really think I wasn’t looking for you this whole time? You vanish, you leave me hanging, no goodbye, no explanation, what’d you expect?”I glared when he said those words. “I expected you to stay gone. That’s what I expected.”He laughed, low and amused, like I’d just told him a joke. “And miss this? Please. You owe me, and I’ve come to collect.”My jaw clenched, and I narrowed my brows, stepping forward in pure defiance. “I don’t owe you a damn thing.”“Oh, but you do.” He tilted his head, eyes glinting in that smug way I remembered too well. “When you walked away, I’ll admit…yeah, that did sting a little. Took me a while to

SavannahFor a while, I couldn’t move. My brain felt stuck, like it hadn’t caught up to the scene that was unfolding right in front of me.“You’re making a mistake,” Noah said, his voice low and stubborn. The words were barely out of his mouth before Leo slammed him again against the wall, this time with more annoyance.“Don’t,” Leo said in a rough and groggy tone. I could tell that he was just as frustrated with Noah as I was. Neither of us could really understand why he was doing this, but I’d come to accept that I wasn’t going to try anymore. Noah had his own twisted way of doing things, and right now, I didn’t care to question them.“You don’t get to make those decisions anymore,” Leo said, shoving him against the wall.Noah’s jaw tensed, his pride itching to fight back, but he didn’t move.Leo leaned in closer, his voice dropping but still hard enough to sting. “You’re the one who got me snatched up by those dealers. You let me get beaten half to death. You pulled Savannah into

SavannahAfter that call, I could feel my body freeze up. Two days? Two days? I started to feel my skin crawl and my anger rising. Noah’s silence had been eating at me the entire time we spoke, like he was holding back more than he was letting on. And when he said nothing else, I took that as my cue to walk. I couldn’t afford another word wasted, not with the walls closing in around me.But before I’d made it two steps, his hand shot out and clamped around my wrist. “You’re not leaving Savannah,” he said, his voice sharp and his breath hot.I felt a change in the air when he said those words, like a hint of danger in his voice, almost as if he wasn’t the same Noah I was used to. “What are you doing?” I asked, yanking lightly, but he wouldn’t let go.“I can’t just let you leave like this,” Noah muttered. His eyes darted past me, scanning the shadows of the station like he was searching for something, or someone. Then I realized what he was doing. And in that moment, I suddenly didn’t

SavannahAfter our meeting, Jack had informed me he’d find the perfect mole for this. The next morning, he was quick to deliver the news. “I found someone,” he said, his eyes glinting with that mix of pride and danger that always followed him around. “A mole. Someone inside Tyrant’s orbit who owes me a favor. They’ll get us closer than we ever dreamed.”On paper, it sounded like exactly what we needed. The missing piece of our plan. But as Jack explained, I barely heard him. My eyes kept straying toward Noah.He stood a little apart from us with his arms crossed and his face unreadable. To anyone else, he looked like he was just tired, maybe annoyed. But I had spent too much time around him not to notice the small things that said otherwise, like the way his jaw tightened when Jack spoke, the way his eyes kept shifting like he was somewhere else entirely.Ever since that night in the quad, when he reluctantly agreed to help me, something had been wrong. He wasn’t just distant, he was

  • Hired My Ex's Sister as Wife   A Risky Proposal

Savannah The drive back to campus felt different this time. My father’s words lingered in my head like an echo I couldn’t shake. ‘If you’re going to do this, then at least do it the right way.’To be honest, I didn’t know what the right way was, but I knew one thing for sure: I couldn’t keep circling around the edges of Tyrant’s world, waiting for him to strike again. He was already inside our lives, inside our family, and if I wanted to end this, I had to step into his territory before he swallowed us whole.By the time I reached my dorm, a plan was already forming in my head. Admittedly, it may have been reckless, dangerous, maybe even suicidal, you name it, but it was a plan. The first person I called was Jack. He didn’t waste any time and showed up fast, leaning against the brick wall outside the library, his usual smirk replaced with something heavier. “You sounded urgent.”“It is,” I said. “I called because what I’m planning is going to need both you and Noah. This isn’t someth
