Author’s POV

A few days went by, and Ethan became incredibly distant from Hannah.

The venue for the merger between the Eunuch and his family was set to happen in Venice. This meant that for an entire month, Ethan would have no choice but to spend every day with her.

When he informed Hannah about it, she did not know how to react to the news. Once again, she was going to have to spend not just an evening, but a month living in pretense.

Grace had called Hannah about a piece of new information about her husband, and because of this trip, Hannah decided to meet earlier for it. If she had to go to this event. She may as well learn a little about her husband.

Hannah left the house quickly that morning and headed to Driun Cafe to meet with Grace.

The entire ride there was filled with awkwardness. Since their last encounter with Ethan, Clint hadn’t said a word to her. He didn’t want to risk Ethan’s wrath.

After a long uncomfortable ride, they finally reached the cafe. Hannah was about to

  • Hired My Ex's Sister as Wife   Bad Timing

Since that day at the school play, Hannah had practically locked herself indoors. This situation with Ethan was weighing on her more and more. But she didn’t want to think about it anymore. She wasn’t sure when the dizzy spells started—maybe two, three days ago. At first, it felt like a wave of exhaustion washing over her. A slight headache, a moment of spinning when she stood up too fast, but then she started having nausea, but wrote it off as stress. She’d barely been eating, or sleeping. Her emotions were in chaos, and between Ethan’s silence, Julian’s hovering, and the constant needs of the kids, she could barely think straight. Still, she pressed on. That’s what she always did. This morning, the world tilted the second she got out of bed. She gripped the nightstand, steadying herself as a wave of heat flushed her skin. It passed quickly, but it left her rattled.“Just breathe,” she muttered to herself in the mirror. “You’re fine.”She splashed cold water on her face and forced h

  • Hired My Ex's Sister as Wife   Familiar Strangers

It had been days since Ethan sent the message and still there was no reply. He had read it over and over again, trying to see if there was a tone he had missed, but the message was simple and clear. "We need to talk. Not about the kids—about us." But still, Hannah didn’t respond, and that silence was starting to feel like a wall between them.He told himself to let it go, to give her space, and so buried himself in work, trying to drown the ache. But even in the middle of back-to-back meetings and corporate fires, her name stayed in his mind like a quiet echo. But then came the school play. It was a Thursday evening, and Ethan almost didn’t show. He had gotten the memo, but did not know if Hannah really wanted him there. In addition, he had been drained by work the entire week, and he hated these public events—the fake smiles, the judging eyes, the press hoping to catch a soundbite or a scandal. But it was for the kids, and that mattered more than anything. That day, he wore a simple

  • Hired My Ex's Sister as Wife   The Space Between Us

Days passed, and still there was not a word from Ethan, or a text from Hannah either. It wasn’t planned—it just happened. Neither of them wanted to be the first to break the silence, and yet, both felt it weighing on them more with each passing hour.Ethan buried himself in work. He spent more time in the office than necessary. His assistant noticed he was quieter, less witty, more mechanical. He no longer joked during meetings. He didn’t flirt with the marketing lead or compliment the intern’s outfit. The version of Ethan who once charmed a room with a single smirk was gone. Now, he just worked and that was all that he was concerned with. He answered emails, signed documents. Sat in boardrooms and stared out the window when no one was looking. His phone buzzed sometimes, but it was never her. Just numbers, appointments and deadlines. She wasn’t reaching out.And maybe, Ethan thought, she wasn’t supposed to. Maybe she was trying to protect herself again. Maybe what happened that nigh

Julian’s shoes hit the floor with sharp, angry steps as he stormed toward the door. His face was hard, his jaw clenched, and every muscle in his body tight with disappointment. He didn’t even look at Hannah as he yanked the door open. He didn’t really know why she was angry or why he was. But just as he stepped outside, he paused, and slowly turned back. His hand still on the doorknob, and fixed his eyes on her—cold, warning, unforgiving.“I hope you know what you’re doing, Hannah.” He said. His voice was low, but every word cut like glass.“I wouldn’t want to see you get burned twice. You may think Ethan’s changed… but he’s still the same man who broke you before. Don’t forget that.”And with that, he was gone. The door shut behind him, and Hannah felt like the floor had been pulled from under her.She stood there for a moment, frozen, breathing too fast. Her heart pounded against her ribs like it was trying to escape. She slowly slid down to the kitchen floor, pulling her knees to h

The morning sun had barely broken through the clouds when Hannah heard the knock on her front door. She was in the kitchen, still in her robe, stirring a half-eaten bowl of cereal while her thoughts ran wild. She wasn’t ready for anyone. Especially not him.But then the knock came again, louder this time. Reluctantly, she stood up and walked towards it, opening the door slowly to find Julian standing there with his hands shoved in his coat pockets, with a soft smile, his eyes sharp and unreadable.“Julian,” she breathed, surprised.“What are you doing here?”“Morning,” he said, coolly. “You disappeared last night, so I thought I should come check in on you.”She stepped aside and let him in, hesitantly. “Yeah, I wasn’t feeling well.” Hannah said, walking back inside. He looked around the house, like he was searching for something—or someone. “Funny,” he muttered. “You looked fine the last time I saw you. Then poof, gone. Almost like you disappeared.” He paused, and then added, “You kn

  • Hired My Ex's Sister as Wife   Escape at Dawn

The first light of morning slipped through the blinds, brushing against Hannah’s bare shoulder. She blinked awake and for a moment, everything felt just like every other morning. But then, she suddenly felt a strange warmth beside her before she even turned her head.Just then, her memories reeled back and her hands flew to her mouth as she saw him there — Ethan. He was still asleep, lying on his side, one arm resting across the sheets where she’d been curled up moments ago. His hair was tousled, and his face, in sleep, looked peaceful—almost like the man she first fell in love with, but that only made it worse.‘No, no, no!” She panicked and clutched her chest like a fist. Then she sat up slowly, heart pounding, barely breathing. The room was still, but in a way that screamed everything had changed. For a moment, she hoped this was just a dream. That she hadn’t slept with Ethan, but then she glanced down and could see clothes scattered, and memories of last night painted across the f
