I watched her shift uncomfortably, looking around at the guests.

Everyone waited, practically holding their breaths and waiting to hear what she'd say.

When she looked back at me, I saw the anger in her eyes.

Oh, she was definitely going to throw a fit for my sudden proposal but that didn't matter.

Right now, I had won.

I had proven to her that daring to even look at Matthieu while she was mine, was strictly forbidden.

We might not be genuinely interested in each other but nobody knew about that and nobody needed to know.

As long as we smiled at the camera, were romantic and wore our rings, we were a couple.

Nothing else mattered, at least not to the Press.

"Yes." Her voice came out quieter than I expected.

Faking giddiness, I slid the ring on her finger and scooped her in my arms.

"With that look on your face, nobody is going to believe that you actually happily accepted my ring. And like you said, mischief, I pay you for a good job. So I expect you to do a good job." I
