Chapter 38 The Engagement

She felt like there was chaos outside, but she didn't want to get involved just yet. She still felt half-asleep.

She headed to the bathroom to take a shower. She immersed herself in the water. She felt tired, like she hadn't slept much.

She decided to check the time. Her eyes widened.

(Is my clock broken? Why is it already eleven? How did I not realize it's already noon? Why?)

She hurried her shower. She didn't know what had happened or how she had overslept.

She put on a floral dress and added a ribbon to her hair. She applied a bit of powder and lipstick. She had picked up the habit of dressing up from her mother and grandmother, so she adopted it even when at home.

Passing by her grandmother's room, she knocked. No response. She opened the door, but her grandmother wasn't there. Perhaps the old lady was out.

Arriving in the living room, no one was there, yet she had heard commotion earlier.

(Am I getting old? Where is everyone?) She whispered to herself.
