|| Lilac’s POV ||

The morning sun lit up my room as I woke up, the shadows of a restless night still lingering. My first thought was to reach out to Runa, my wolf. But there was no response. My heart raced as I tried again, but still nothing. She was barely there. Something was wrong. Why had I been given this second chance? It didn’t make sense.

The smell of pancakes pulled me back to the present. Downstairs, I could hear the soft hum of conversation and the clinking of plates. It felt like home, like the life I’d fought so hard to protect.

I dressed carefully—a blouse, a pencil skirt, and heels. As I walked downstairs, the smell of pancakes and coffee grew stronger. My family was in the kitchen. Mom was at the stove, flipping pancakes. Dad sat at the table with his coffee, and Ezra, my younger brother, was reading a book. He looked so much like Dad, with the same dark hair and sharp features. Everything felt normal, and I wanted to keep it that way.

“Good morning, sweetpea,” Dad said, smiling at me.

“Morning,” I replied, sitting down.

Mom set a plate of pancakes in front of me. “You look different,” she said, studying me.

I glanced down. I *was* different. The naive girl who believed in fairy tales was gone. Now, I carried the weight of a second chance.

“I have some plans,” I said vaguely, picking up my fork.

Mom didn’t press, but her gaze lingered. Breakfast was peaceful, filled with casual chatter and the sound of forks on plates. But I couldn’t stay. I had work to do.

As I cleared the table, Ezra leaned against the doorframe. “Where are you off to so early?” he asked, still in his pajamas.

“Just errands,” I said.

He raised an eyebrow. “Errands? You look like you’re about to negotiate a business deal or break someone’s heart.”

I rolled my eyes. “It’s not a date outfit, Ezra.”

He smirked. “Are you cheating on Kael already?”

I shoved him lightly. “You’re so annoying.”

“It’s my job as your older brother,” he teased.

“You’re younger by a year,” I groaned, but I couldn’t help smiling. I’d missed his teasing.

The drive to the plaza was quiet. Today was the day. Kael was holding a conference here, and it was my chance to set my plan in motion.

When I arrived, the plaza was busy. Reporters and cameras were everywhere. I spotted Elara almost immediately. She ran over, her curly hair bouncing. “Lilac!” she exclaimed, hugging me. “I heard you’re Kael’s mate! This is huge!”

I forced a smile. “Yeah, it’s… something.”

She tilted her head. “You don’t sound excited. Isn’t this what you wanted?”

“It’s complicated,” I said. “But I need your help.”

Her eyes lit up. “What do you need?”

“Get me into the press room,” I said, lowering my voice. “There’s something I have to do.”

She grinned. “Consider it done. But you owe me the full story later.”

“Deal,” I said, relieved.

As we walked, I felt a flicker of hope. This was the first step in changing my fate. With Elara by my side, I could do it.

  • His Abandoned Luna   Epilogue

    || Lilac’s POV ||[Four Months Later]The grand hall of the Nightshade palace shimmered with golden candlelight, the scent of roasted venison and honeyed apples thick in the air. Aurora squirmed in my arms, her chubby fingers reaching for the towering cake decorated with edible silver wolves. It was her first birthday."No, little wolf," Alaric chuckled, catching her wrist before she could demolish the masterpiece. "Let your poor father have one unruined celebration."Our daughter responded by baring her tiny milk teeth— already sharp— and growling playfully. The exact replica of my green eyes sparkled with mischief. No more nightmare or eerie violet glow."Oh, she's definitely your daughter," Darius boomed from the head table, his silver-streaked beard twitching with amusement. Alaric's father looked healthier than he had in years, the weight of the kingdom finally lifted from his shoulders and we finally had peace. He had been living with us and Aurora was his heart."Takes after her

  • His Abandoned Luna   257. Blood and Vengeance

    || Third Party POV || Then, with deliberate slowness, Coco began moving toward Agatha. Each step sent tremors through the earth, her black boots crushing fallen lilies beneath them. "Yes... Mother," Coco murmured, her voice oddly flat. Alaric tensed, his muscles coiling to spring - but Ezra's hand on his arm held him back. The royal beta's eyes were narrowed, his nostrils flaring as he studied Coco's posture. Something wasn't right. Agatha's smile widened as Coco drew nearer. "My loyal child. My perfect vessel. Together we'll—" The words died in her throat as Coco's free hand shot out, fingers like steel bands closing around Agatha's neck. With terrifying strength, she slammed the witch queen against the crumbling stone altar, making the ancient runes flare to life. "Co-Coco?!" Agatha's eyes bulged, her manicured nails scrabbling uselessly at the hand choking her. "What are you—" "Sorry, Agatha," Coco purred, her voice shifting, deepening in

    || Third party POV ||Two days. That's how long Lilac had been counting the cracks in the prison walls, her fingers tracing the hidden vial in her boot as Aurora's distant cries tore at her heart. The witches had kept her weak— silver cuffs around her wrists, wolfsbane smoke in the air— but they couldn't stop her from planning.'Just one chance... that's all we get... that's all we need,' she whispered to her wolf. The door creaked open, and Coco slipped inside, a tray of food in hand."Still alive, I see."Coco stood silhouetted in the doorway, her raven black hair hanging in greasy strands around her hollow cheeks. The silver dagger at her belt caught the dim torchlight as she kicked a wooden bowl of gruel across the floor. It sloshed against Lilac's bare feet, cold and congealed."You should eat," Coco murmured, her voice oddly gentle. "Tomorrow will be... difficult."Lilac didn't move. "What's in it?"A flicker of so

  • His Abandoned Luna   255. Crow's Summon

    || Third party pov || The sky darkened without warning as hundreds of crows descended upon the packlands. Their black wings blotted out the sun as they circled in eerie silence before vanishing into the forest, leaving only scattered feathers in their wake. Endora's gnarled fingers trembled as she pressed two vials into Lilac's palm. The first swirled with smoky darkness, cold to the touch. The second glowed faintly amber, its contents unknown to anyone but the old healer. "The first will hide you from their sight for one hour," Endora whispered, her milky eyes glistening. "The second... use it only when all hope is lost." Lilac tucked the vials into her boot with a stiff nod. The weight of the unspoken goodbye hung between them. "Will you send my letter to Alaric?" Lilac asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Endora clutched the folded parchment to her chest. "He'll have it before nightfall." A pause. "Girl, are you certain—" "There's no

The world tilted. Runa's howl of rage echoed in my skull as my knees hit the dirt. No. Not her. Not my baby. My pulse roared in my ears, drowning out the murmurs of the gathered pack. "Where did you last see her?" My voice came out eerily calm. Mira trembled beside me. "I— I gave her to Endora, and then—" A warrior's shout cut through the night. "Luna! Over here!" The world narrowed to a single point, the blood dripping from Endora's shoulder, the way her chest rose and fell too quickly. We found Endora slumped against a tree, her silver robes dark with blood. Her wrinkled face twisted in pain as she looked up at me. "I'm sorry, my queen," she gasped. "The rogues took her... I couldn't stop them." Something inside me snapped. I crossed the distance in the blink of an eye, my hands closing around her throat before I could think. The gasps of the pack faded into white noise as I lifted her off the ground, her feet

  • His Abandoned Luna   253. Kidnapped-I

    || LILAC’S POV || The evening sun painted the wooden houses in golden light as I stood by the window, Aurora's warm weight nestled against my chest. She was getting heavier now, her tiny fingers curling around mine as she dozed. Outside, the forest swayed gently in the breeze, the trees whispering secrets I still couldn't remember. A week. A whole week since Alaric had left for the border. "Luna, dinner is ready," Mira called softly from the kitchen. "Thank you," I murmured, pressing a kiss to Aurora's downy head before settling her into her cradle. The smell of roasted vegetables and fresh bread filled the house— comforting, familiar in a way. I had just lifted my fork when the door burst open. Elizabeth stood there, chest heaving, her usually perfect braid coming undone. "You need to leave. Now." Before I could ask why, she grabbed my arm, yanking me to my feet. Mira didn't hesitate— she scooped up Aurora in one fluid motion, her eyes wide
