Betrayed. Abandoned. Left to die. Lilac had given everything to Alpha King Kael—her love, her loyalty, her very soul—only to be cast aside when his fated mate arrived. The fragile Omega not only stole Kael’s heart but destroyed everything Lilac had built, leaving her broken and watching her family perish. As Lilac took her final breath, the last thing she saw was Kael holding the woman who had ruined her. But death was not the end. When Lilac’s eyes opened, she was back, six years in the past, standing in the ceremony where she was first chosen as Kael’s mate. The goddess had granted her a second chance. But this time, she would not be the same naive woman who loved blindly. This time, she would fight. She would take back what was hers. Yet, with every choice she makes, the future begins to shift. Kael's half brother Alaric showed up in the picture. Fate is no longer predictable, and the kingdom's destiny is no longer set in stone. As Lilac walks a new path, one question haunts her: Is she rewriting her salvation… or her doom?

"Please," I whispered, my voice shaking as I turned to Kael. "Let them go."
The words felt foreign, bitter, like ashes on my tongue. I had never begged before, never thought I would have to. But for them-for my parents-I would swallow my pride.
I had begged before Kael. I had pleaded with Kael to remember the vows we made, the promises he had whispered in the dark when the world felt safe.
"You will always come first," he had told me, his voice a balm to my fears.
That was before Coco. Before she swept into the palace like a storm, leaving ruin in her way. He swore nothing would change, that I would still be his queen, his love. It was all a lie. A beautiful, cruel lie.
Kael's golden eyes flickered with something unreadable, gone before I could grasp it. His silence cut deeper than a blade. My hands clenched into fists, nails digging into my palms, but the pain was nothing compared to the ache inside me.
The air reeked of blood and betrayal, thick and suffocating. The grand hall, once a place of celebration, felt like a tomb. The towering marble pillars, carved with our pack's history, seemed to lean inward as if they, too, couldn't bear to witness this. He killed all my trusted warriors, making sure my family was left vulnerable. Flickering torchlight cast jagged shadows across the polished floor ghosts mocking me, whispering of my downfall.
My heart pounded, every beat a painful reminder of how far I had fallen. My knees buckled, and I sank to the cold stone. The impact barely registered. My dress once a symbol of my status as Luna Queen felt heavy, suffocating, meaningless now.
I lifted my gaze, and there he was. Kael. The Alpha King. My husband of five years. The man I had given everything to. His broad shoulders were squared, his jaw set, his golden eyes colder than I had ever seen. This was not the man who once held me close, who swore to protect me. No, this was a stranger wearing his face.
And in his arms, cradled like something precious, was Coco. Wrapped in silk, her raven hair spilling over her shoulders, she was breathtaking. To me, she was nothing but a viper wrapped in silk and secrets. Her lips curled into a smirk triumphant, cruel. She had unraveled my life with nothing more than a glance, watching as everything I built crumbled at her feet.
Behind them, warriors stood motionless, swords drawn, aimed at my parents. My mother and father once proud, unyielding warriors were on their knees, heads howed, Silver chains bound their wrists and ankles, the enchanted metal searing their skin. The sight of them like this-broken, humiliated was a dagger to my heart.
"He is your Beta, Kael. He is the proud of our country," I said.
My father, the man who had once stood tall even in the face of war, sagged under the weight of his shame. My mother's fierce eyes were hollow now, empty of hope. The woman who taught me to fight for what I loved was now nothing more than a prisoner in the kingdom she once bled for.
I swallowed hard, forcing down the sob clawing its way up. I couldn't break. Not yet.
"Kael," I choked out, my voice cracking. "If you ever loved me, even a little.... let them go."
Coco's laughter rang through the silence-sharp, mocking.
"Oh, darling," she purred, tilting her head. "Love has nothing to do with this."
She stepped forward, slow and deliberate, a predator circling its prey. In her hand, a dagger gleamed under the dim light. She pointed it at me, her smile dripping with false sweetness.
"I'll let them go," she mused, "if you die instead."
The words hit me like a punch to the gut. Before I could react, her smirk
widened.
"Too late," she whispered. "I changed my mind."
She hurled the dagger.
Time slowed. The blade spun through the air in a deadly arc.
My father's eyes met mine steady, strong, the way they had always been. But now, they were filled with sorrow. With an apology he would never get to say.
The dagger struck. A sickening thud.
A strangled gasp escaped his lips. His body jerked violently as the silver burned through him. His fingers trembled, reaching-reaching for me-but his strength faltered. He crumpled to the ground. Convulsing. Dying.
"Nol"
The scream tore from my throat, raw and broken.
I lunged for him desperate, frantic
But before I could reach him, before I could touch him one last time, Coco threw another dagger.
This one struck my mother's chest.
A sharp gasp. Her body jolted. Her trembling hands clutched at the hilt, as if she could undo it, as if she could will the blade away. Crimson bloomed across her gown, violent against the pale silk.
Her gaze found mine.
Her fierce, loving eyes the ones that had watched over me my whole life-now filled with something else. Regret. Not for herself. For me. For the pain she couldn't stop.
Her lips parted. No words came. Just a shuddering breath.
She collapsed beside my father.
A hollow, keening sound rose from my chest, a grief so raw it split me apart. My parents my home, my anchor were gone. just like that. Their lives. reduced to bloodstains on cold, unfeeling stone.
The world blurred. My vision darkened as rage and sorrow swallowed me whole. My wolf surged forward, her growl shaking the hall. My claws elongated, my fangs bared. I was ready to tear Coco apart
But Kael stepped in front of her, his massive frame shielding her from my wrath. His golden eyes bore into mine, cold and unyielding, and in that moment, I saw the truth.
I was nothing to him. My love was less than nothing.
The bond we had shared, the love I had believed in, had been an illusion, shattered by the arrival of his true mate,
|| Lilac’s POV || The council hall's heavy oak doors swung shut behind me with a finality that echoed in my bones. I pressed my palms against my thighs, willing them to stop trembling. The scent of melted flesh and wolfsbane still clung to my clothes, no matter how many times I scrubbed at my arms. Witches. In the council. Among us. A familiar laugh cut through the murmurs of departing Alphas. Elara waved. She was with Astrid and Madeline near the gardens, her auburn curls catching the afternoon sun. Madeline and Astrid flanked her, their smiles sharpening when they saw me. No. Not now. A lot had happened recently and I wasn’t ready to tell them everything. I forced my feet to move toward them, each step heavier than the last. "There you are!" Elara hooked her arm through mine. "We were starting to think you'd forgotten about us." Madeline's gaze raked over me. "You look radiant! What is Alaric feeding you these days?" Astrid elbowed h
|| Lilac’s POV || The council chamber smelled of polished oak and tension. My fingers tightened around the delicate teacup as I watched the amber liquid swirl, catching flickering candlelight. The air hummed with quiet conversations and the clink of fine china, a civilized prelude to what I knew would be anything but civilized. One week until the election. One week until the world changes. Unless the alpha king does something. I glanced at Alaric who was standing in a corner. His jaw was set in that familiar stubborn line, the one that meant he was holding back words better left unsaid. These days, it seemed permanently etched into his features. Alexander rose, his chair scraping against marble floors. The room quieted instantly. "Before we begin," he said, raising his glass, "let us honor those who will lead us into our future." His eyes swept the room, lingering on each contender in turn. "May the Moon Goddess grant wisdom to whoever takes the t
|| Lilac’s POV || The morning sun filtered through the sheer curtains of Alaric's bedroom, painting golden stripes across the rumpled sheets where he should have been. My fingers traced the cold, empty space beside me— another night he'd come home after I'd fallen asleep, another dawn he'd slipped away before I woke. Always gone. Always exhausted. Always running after the rogues and witches! I sat up, pressing a hand to the subtle swell of my stomach. The baby— our baby— was still small enough to hide beneath loose blouses, but soon, that wouldn't be possible. Soon, the whole world would know. If only I could tell him first. A knock at the door startled me. "Luna?" Mira’s voice, gentle but firm. "May I come in?" "Of course," I called, hastily tugging the blankets higher. “Did you tell him last night?” She asked as soon as she entered. I couldn't hide it from her or from most of the she-wolves in the pack but they were loyal and kind en
|| Lilac’s POV || The minute streched and the growls from upstairs died slowly. It was over. I felt it in my heart. Then the door burst open. Garry stood there, panting, his clothes torn. "Everyone okay?" His eyes locked onto my bloodied arm. "Luna, you are bleeding." "Later," I cut in, forcing myself to stand. "The rogues?" "Gone. For now. You were right— their numbers were massive, but we were ready." "How are our warriors? Is everyone ok?" I asked. "No casualties. Just injuries. We have moved them to the healing center. Endora isn't here as her students are tending to them now." Garry explained. "Good." I moved toward the door. "I’m going to help." " But, Luna, you’re hurt—" he protested. I didn’t stop. Because this was my pack now. And I would bleed for them. But where was he! Why wasn't he back yet? ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ || Alaric's POV || The tires of my car screamed against the gravel as I skidded
|| Lilac’s POV ||Whispers slithered through the room like snakes. She’s lying. She’s not even our real Luna. Why should we trust her? "I don’t give a damn if you trust me or see me as your Luna," I said, voice cutting through the noise. "But Alaric does. He put his faith in me, and I won’t back down when this pack is in danger. So move." For a heartbeat, no one did. "Right away, Luna. Do it," Garry said, his voice rough. "Sound the alarms. Get the women and children to the tunnels. Warriors— positions, now." The packhouse erupted into chaos. Within minutes, the packhouse was a storm of motion— warriors arming themselves, mothers ushering children downstairs, elders being guided to the tunnels beneath the house. "Garry, double the guards at the north border," I ordered. "On it." He turned, barking commands. An omega tugged at my sleeve. "Luna, you should go downstairs too—" A scream cut her off. "My pup! || Lilac’s POV || The sunset bled across the sky in streaks of crimson and gold, but the beauty of it did nothing to ease the restless dread coiling in my chest. I sat by the window, fingers gripping the sill until my knuckles turned white. Where was Alaric? He should have been back by now. He only went to see Elias. Did something have happened? A cold whisper of unease slithered down my spine. Runa, my missing wolf, howled faintly in the depths of my mind— a distant echo of warning. Something was wrong. I shut my eyes, forcing my breathing to steady. Focus. The wind carried no scent, no sound— just a suffocating silence. And then, like a ripple in water, a vision flashed behind my eyelids. Teeth. Blood. A sea of rogues crashing against the pack borders. My eyes flew open. "No—" I was moving before the thought fully formed, my bare feet slapping against the polished floors as I sprinted through the house. My fingers fumbled
