Betrayed. Abandoned. Left to die. Lilac had given everything to Alpha King Kael—her love, her loyalty, her very soul—only to be cast aside when his fated mate arrived. The fragile Omega not only stole Kael’s heart but destroyed everything Lilac had built, leaving her broken and watching her family perish. As Lilac took her final breath, the last thing she saw was Kael holding the woman who had ruined her. But death was not the end. When Lilac’s eyes opened, she was back, six years in the past, standing in the ceremony where she was first chosen as Kael’s mate. The goddess had granted her a second chance. But this time, she would not be the same naive woman who loved blindly. This time, she would fight. She would take back what was hers. Yet, with every choice she makes, the future begins to shift. Kael's half brother Alaric showed up in the picture. Fate is no longer predictable, and the kingdom's destiny is no longer set in stone. As Lilac walks a new path, one question haunts her: Is she rewriting her salvation… or her doom?

The silver bells chimed as I walked through the corridor toward the royal dining hall. My heels clicked softly on the marble, the same halls I’d walked a thousand times—as a Beta’s daughter, as Luna, and as Kael’s wife.
But tonight felt… different.
The air was thick with tension. The guards barely looked me in the eye. The servants whispered and turned away. Still, I kept my posture straight, my chin high. If I was going to be ignored in my own palace, I would at least look regal doing it.
Kael sat at the head of the table, golden eyes locked on the parchment in front of him. He didn’t glance up when I entered.
“Your Highness,” I said quietly.
No response.
I took my seat beside him anyway. The air between us thickened with silence. I tried again.
“I heard the Crescent Valley treaty passed. Your father would’ve been proud.”
Still nothing.
“Alpha Kael,” my father, stepping forward, his voice tight with anger. “How long do you plan to pretend my daughter doesn’t exist?”
That finally earned me a look. Cold. Measured.
“There are matters more urgent than your feelings.”
Before I could respond, the doors burst open—and she walked in like she owned the place.
Coco.
The omega girl. Dressed in gold, her raven hair cascading down her back. She didn’t bow.
“I thought this was a family dinner,” I said carefully, keeping my voice even.
Kael didn’t hesitate. “She is family now.”
He stood.
“I’ve found my mate. It’s Coco.”
The world seemed to tilt under me.
“And I hope you all can be happy for me.”
Happy?
Coco had joined our pack only a month ago. I assumed Kael took her in out of kindness. I never imagined...
"What?" My father rose, furious. "Your mate is sitting beside you! Have you forgotten your vows?"
We were chosen mates.
Five years ago, Kael’s mother begged me to marry her son, believing that our family’s royal Beta bloodline would help Kael secure his position as Alpha.
At the time, I had a secret crush on Kael and agreed to the proposal without a second thought.
I had asked Kael once, "What if you find your true mate one day?"
He had looked at me with such conviction then. *"Even if I do, nothing will change. You’ll always come first."
Now he turned cold eyes on my father.
"How dare you speak to your Alpha that way. Guards. Remove him."
I stood in shock as my parents were dragged from the room.
“Please,” I whispered, hoping he’d come to his senses.
But he didn’t.
That night, I wandered the halls like a ghost. By morning, the palace would never be the same.
******
I woke to shouts. The clash of steel.
Barefoot, I ran to the throne hall, heart racing.
There—my parents, chained and kneeling. Warriors stood around them. Kael at the center, Coco by his side, a smug smile on her lips.
“Kael, what is this?” I cried.
He said nothing.
"They are traitors," Coco said smoothly. She drew a dagger.
“No Way!” I turned to Kael, voice shaking. “My father served yours with honor for decades. How can you let this happen?”
He remained silent.
I fell to my knees. "Kael," I choked out, my voice cracking. "If you ever loved me, even a little.... let them go!"
Coco's laughter rang through the silence-sharp, mocking.
"Oh, darling," she purred, tilting her head. "Love has nothing to do with this."
She stepped forward, slow and deliberate, a predator circling its prey. In her hand, a dagger gleamed under the dim light. She pointed it at me, her smile dripping with false sweetness.
"I'll let them go," she mused, "if you die instead."
The words hit me like a punch to the gut. Before I could react, her smirk widened.
"Too late," she whispered. "I changed my mind."
She hurled the dagger.
Time slowed. The blade spun through the air in a deadly arc.
My father's eyes met mine steady, strong, the way they had always been. But now, they were filled with sorrow. With an apology he would never get to say.
The dagger struck. A sickening thud.
A strangled gasp escaped his lips. His body jerked violently as the silver burned through him. His fingers trembled, reaching-reaching for me-but his strength faltered. He crumpled to the ground. Convulsing. Dying.
"No!!!"
The scream tore from my throat, raw and broken.
I lunged for him desperate, frantic
But before I could reach him, before I could touch him one last time, Coco threw another dagger.
This one struck my mother's chest.
A sharp gasp. Her body jolted. Her trembling hands clutched at the hilt, as if she could undo it, as if she could will the blade away. Crimson bloomed across her gown, violent against the pale silk.
Her gaze found mine.
Her fierce, loving eyes the ones that had watched over me my whole life-now filled with something else. Regret. Not for herself. For me. For the pain she couldn't stop.
Her lips parted. No words came. Just a shuddering breath.
She collapsed beside my father.
A hollow, keening sound rose from my chest, a grief so raw it split me apart. My parents my home, my anchor were gone. just like that. Their lives. reduced to bloodstains on cold, unfeeling stone.
The world blurred. My vision darkened as rage and sorrow swallowed me whole. My wolf surged forward, her growl shaking the hall. My claws elongated, my fangs bared. I was ready to tear Coco apart
But Kael stepped in front of her, his massive frame shielding her from my wrath. His golden eyes bore into mine, cold and unyielding, and in that moment, I saw the truth.
To him, I was nothing. The love I thought we had was never real. Just a placeholder until his true mate arrived.
|| Lilac’s POV ||[Four Months Later]The grand hall of the Nightshade palace shimmered with golden candlelight, the scent of roasted venison and honeyed apples thick in the air. Aurora squirmed in my arms, her chubby fingers reaching for the towering cake decorated with edible silver wolves. It was her first birthday."No, little wolf," Alaric chuckled, catching her wrist before she could demolish the masterpiece. "Let your poor father have one unruined celebration."Our daughter responded by baring her tiny milk teeth— already sharp— and growling playfully. The exact replica of my green eyes sparkled with mischief. No more nightmare or eerie violet glow."Oh, she's definitely your daughter," Darius boomed from the head table, his silver-streaked beard twitching with amusement. Alaric's father looked healthier than he had in years, the weight of the kingdom finally lifted from his shoulders and we finally had peace. He had been living with us and Aurora was his heart."Takes after her
|| Third Party POV || Then, with deliberate slowness, Coco began moving toward Agatha. Each step sent tremors through the earth, her black boots crushing fallen lilies beneath them. "Yes... Mother," Coco murmured, her voice oddly flat. Alaric tensed, his muscles coiling to spring - but Ezra's hand on his arm held him back. The royal beta's eyes were narrowed, his nostrils flaring as he studied Coco's posture. Something wasn't right. Agatha's smile widened as Coco drew nearer. "My loyal child. My perfect vessel. Together we'll—" The words died in her throat as Coco's free hand shot out, fingers like steel bands closing around Agatha's neck. With terrifying strength, she slammed the witch queen against the crumbling stone altar, making the ancient runes flare to life. "Co-Coco?!" Agatha's eyes bulged, her manicured nails scrabbling uselessly at the hand choking her. "What are you—" "Sorry, Agatha," Coco purred, her voice shifting, deepening in
|| Third party POV ||Two days. That's how long Lilac had been counting the cracks in the prison walls, her fingers tracing the hidden vial in her boot as Aurora's distant cries tore at her heart. The witches had kept her weak— silver cuffs around her wrists, wolfsbane smoke in the air— but they couldn't stop her from planning.'Just one chance... that's all we get... that's all we need,' she whispered to her wolf. The door creaked open, and Coco slipped inside, a tray of food in hand."Still alive, I see."Coco stood silhouetted in the doorway, her raven black hair hanging in greasy strands around her hollow cheeks. The silver dagger at her belt caught the dim torchlight as she kicked a wooden bowl of gruel across the floor. It sloshed against Lilac's bare feet, cold and congealed."You should eat," Coco murmured, her voice oddly gentle. "Tomorrow will be... difficult."Lilac didn't move. "What's in it?"A flicker of so
|| Third party pov || The sky darkened without warning as hundreds of crows descended upon the packlands. Their black wings blotted out the sun as they circled in eerie silence before vanishing into the forest, leaving only scattered feathers in their wake. Endora's gnarled fingers trembled as she pressed two vials into Lilac's palm. The first swirled with smoky darkness, cold to the touch. The second glowed faintly amber, its contents unknown to anyone but the old healer. "The first will hide you from their sight for one hour," Endora whispered, her milky eyes glistening. "The second... use it only when all hope is lost." Lilac tucked the vials into her boot with a stiff nod. The weight of the unspoken goodbye hung between them. "Will you send my letter to Alaric?" Lilac asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Endora clutched the folded parchment to her chest. "He'll have it before nightfall." A pause. "Girl, are you certain—" "There's no
The world tilted. Runa's howl of rage echoed in my skull as my knees hit the dirt. No. Not her. Not my baby. My pulse roared in my ears, drowning out the murmurs of the gathered pack. "Where did you last see her?" My voice came out eerily calm. Mira trembled beside me. "I— I gave her to Endora, and then—" A warrior's shout cut through the night. "Luna! Over here!" The world narrowed to a single point, the blood dripping from Endora's shoulder, the way her chest rose and fell too quickly. We found Endora slumped against a tree, her silver robes dark with blood. Her wrinkled face twisted in pain as she looked up at me. "I'm sorry, my queen," she gasped. "The rogues took her... I couldn't stop them." Something inside me snapped. I crossed the distance in the blink of an eye, my hands closing around her throat before I could think. The gasps of the pack faded into white noise as I lifted her off the ground, her feet
|| LILAC’S POV || The evening sun painted the wooden houses in golden light as I stood by the window, Aurora's warm weight nestled against my chest. She was getting heavier now, her tiny fingers curling around mine as she dozed. Outside, the forest swayed gently in the breeze, the trees whispering secrets I still couldn't remember. A week. A whole week since Alaric had left for the border. "Luna, dinner is ready," Mira called softly from the kitchen. "Thank you," I murmured, pressing a kiss to Aurora's downy head before settling her into her cradle. The smell of roasted vegetables and fresh bread filled the house— comforting, familiar in a way. I had just lifted my fork when the door burst open. Elizabeth stood there, chest heaving, her usually perfect braid coming undone. "You need to leave. Now." Before I could ask why, she grabbed my arm, yanking me to my feet. Mira didn't hesitate— she scooped up Aurora in one fluid motion, her eyes wide
