Mag-log inErin's POVThe phone went to voicemail again, but no message was left. Not even two seconds later, the same number called me back, making four calls in a row.“Hello?” I barked; annoyance laced in my tone. I quickly pressed the phone to my ear, stepping just outside of the viewing room. I had been trying to maintain my professionality, but whomever this is, seems to want to throw a wrench in my plans.“Am I speaking to Mrs. Erin Connolley?” a deep, male voice questioned.“Yes, this is she.”“My name is officer Cleric. We’ve been trying to reach you because your husband was involved in an accident this morning and has been taken to Portland General hospital,” the man explained.Rowan was involved in an accident… Here in Portland? He was supposed to be on his business trip for another day…“Is he… okay?” I glanced over my shoulder at the door, wondering how much longer I had before Finn and Mr. Nitrile stepped out here.“Mr. Connolley is being taken into surgery for a lacerated spleen.
Finn's POV‘Is she watching?’ Azure’s voice fills my head, and I have to fight the urge to roll my eyes.‘No, she’s having a tea party with Mr. Nitrile,’ I snarked. ‘She hasn’t taken her eyes off of you or your ass.’ I probably should have left that tid bit of information out, but it was clear she held the same appreciation for Azure’s ass that I did. And that outfit…. I may or may not have persuaded him to test the pants today for a little bonus to the show. Not that he needed it. Azure oozed confidence, and once he begins moving; That’s going to be on full display. Even Rowan wouldn’t be able to tear his eyes away from what Azure can do.‘Thank you, as always, for your pep talks,’ Azure sounds cocky, even while thanking me. ‘I’ll make sure to give you a little show too, baby.’ This time, I couldn’t fight it. My eyes rolled so hard, I swore they might get stuck.‘You know he’s always like that,’ Nash sighs. ‘At this point, I don’t think he or Nero will ever change.’ His words hold
Erin's POVFinn escorted us to another room with floor to ceiling windows as well as various monitors showing different areas of the arena. My curiosity got the best of me, and I walked straight up to the large windows, looking down at a massive space designed to look like a forest. Large, fake trees and shrubs were scattered around, as well as rocks, a cave, and a few trenches.“This is an impressive set up, Mr. Gray,” Mr. Nitrile chirped, glancing around the space with curious eyes, “And Mr. Blackwood does all of his own testing?”“Yes,” Finn’s eyes lit up, and it was clear how much pride he felt for Azure and their accomplishments. “Azure has always made it his top priority to be involved in every aspect of this business. His goal is to create groundbreaking products that he personally knows will work in battle.”“Are you suggesting that he will be shot,” Mr. Nitrile’s eyes widened. “While down there?”A pit of anxiety tangled up in my stomach as I stared down at the empty arena. W
Erin's POV“You’re wearing something new on your lips,” Finn’s green eyes dip to my mouth before lifting to my eyes.“You’re observant,” I can’t fight the smile that pulls on my lips. As I was doing my makeup, I pickup up my tinted gloss but just as I was raising the wand to my lips, I switched to a plain, cocoa scented balm.“Didn’t want to leave any evidence behind?” he pecks my lips again with a smile. My cheeks heated immediately. That was exactly the reason I’d made the change.“I was simply trying to be frugal and didn’t think you’d be interested in having pink lips.”Finn’s face falls in the crook of my neck, “Are you suggesting that I have dry lips?”The elevator began to slow, and Finn immediately pulled away, moving just far enough away that he looked professional as the doors slid open.“Right this way, Erin,” Finn didn’t use my last name again, and I was grateful. The thought of being tied to Rowan now makes me feel sick to my stomach. The sooner I drop his last name, the
Erin's POV“Erin,” Andrea hisses, and I have to pull the phone away from my ear. “How?!”That was a really great question. How the hell am I supposed to explain my exclusive invitation to Blackwood INC without admitting that I’m sleeping with the CEO and CFO.“I must have caught Mr. Blackwood in a good mood yesterday,” I hoped the tone of my voice didn’t betray me. “He responded to my inquiry almost immediately.”I hated being a good liar. While it served me right now, it still felt incredibly wrong, especially to Andrea.“You do understand how difficult it is to get in touch with the Azure Blackwood, correct?” I imagine her pacing the length of her office with the end of her pen clicking against her teeth. “I know you remember that man causing me a full mental breakdown,” she growled.Only a fraction of a second later did that incessan
Erin's POVAzure’s fingers trail over my blazing skin, creating a sensation I can’t quite describe. It feels like tiny fireworks are exploding beneath my skin, but with every explosion, a surge of pleasure courses through my veins.“You look like sin, sweetheart,” Azure purrs before slapping my ass. The sting causes my back to arch further, and a guttural groan bubbles from his throat, “My fucking god, I can’t believe I was considering sitting back to watch when you look like this.” “Greedy bastard,” Finn snarls, and my eyes snap to his once more.“You’d be a greedy bastard too if you had the view I did,” Azure grinned without missing a beat.Finn caresses my jaw, his fingers creating a trail of fire as the drag down the column of my throat, “I’ve definitely got the better view,” his voice is low, green eyes hooded, and pupil blown wide with lust.My cheeks heat, but I don’t have time to bask in the sweetness of his comment. Azure slaps my ass once again, this time harder than the fi
