More like being on the enemies' side?

"Take this. Make sure you deliver this to Jamel before 6pm today." I stamped the envelope and handed it over to Jade.

He nodded curtly before taking it from me. "Sure thing boss." With that, he bowed before walking out.

"First mission almost done." Lincoln said from behind.

"I just hope it goes as hope. Jade can be clumsy sometimes." I replied with a chuckle.

"Next, we need to get an informant from inside. They're sure to gain one from us, we need to be more careful." Lincolnshire said as he itched his brows slowly.

"I know. We don't really need informants from them, we need to disconnect all Cameras in here. They might want to hack through it, Jamel seems desperate with a look at the way he was acting yesterday.." I sighed.

"I should do that right away." He nodded. "What about a disguise, will it be okay?"

"A bitch will do, he loves bitches a lot." I smirks. "We can use that to get through him."

"You should handle that yourself." He toned before getting up. "I need to get the cameras disconnected as soon as possible."

"Sure, I'll take care of that."

I know I should trust Lincoln but I still need to be careful. I picked up my laptop from the centre table and open it, I need to get more information about Jamel and Gareth. Knowing more about them is gon' help me here.

First, I should go for Gareth Sebastian.

No information...

Wow! He did a great job by wiping his data away from the mass. Investigation will do if internet refuses to.

Jamel Grayson.

Only his age and his home address was here and oh! He got a sibling too. Looks like he cares about her a lot, but I'm so sorry I'll use his sibling against him.

"Gareth is the only problem here." I thought.

"Done, already." Lincoln pried into my system. "This look like Jamel 's profile."

"Yeah. He got a sister. Get all necessary information about her here before tomorrow." I said authoritatively before walking out.

"Sure thing, Hardie..."

...............

One week has pass and it seems nothing is happening from Jamel and Gareth's side. I know for sure they're trying to keep low, wanting me to strike first.

"How sure are you that they aren't expecting the first attack from you?" Lincoln said from behind, like he was reading my mind.

"I'm starting to think that way too." I sighed deeply. Seems like the silence I'm receiving from those two fuckers is just frustrating me and I can't help it. I need to detect their moves not the other way round, tch.

"What did you think is gon' happen here? You attack first? Or we keep watching them?" He picked his words carefully.

I groaned. Yeah, I hate to think this way. "Seriously, I don't know yet."

"You don't know? Really?" He hissed loudly. "The fu.ck Hardie, you're the game boss here, think fast."

"I'm tired of thinking." I replied as I lazily laid my head back. "What am I suppose to do then?"

"I can't believe you, Hardie. Seriously?" He twitched his lips, clearly showing disappointment.

"Why do I have this feeling about you, Lincoln? H-huh?" I huffed lowly.

He raised his left brow. "About me? That?"

"You are acting desperately lately, what's up your sleeve? Don't make me believe you're actually the bait they plant here. Or are you?" I said lazily.

He was taken aback as I watched his face clouded with confusion. "R-really, Hardie? Y-you can say that, huh?"

I shrugged my shoulders lightly. "Do I have a choice here?"

I never for once lose my trust in him but then I have to be careful, people change with time. I'm only doing this to poke his conscience, no hard feeling though.

"You can actually say this? Geez! I Never expected this from you, not you of all people. Sigh." He breathed out.

"Tsk, Lincoln. This isn't my fault, alright? People change with time." I replied flatly.

"I'm not people. I'm Lincolnshire, yeah?"

I ignored him and light a cigarette as I twirled the chair I'm sitting on. Lincoln sigh again like he's fighting something within himself, good thing.

"Fine, if that's what you think of me. Then so be it, I understand." He threaded carefully. "Trust isn't something to be gained lightly, I know."

With that what I heard next was his footsteps before I heard the door clicked silently. He left.

I just hope I'm not being too hard here.

***

Night seems to be fast approaching, I haven't seen Lincoln since our last encounter. Where did he go? Was he hurt by my words?

No! The Lincoln I know won't be bother by all that, yeah I'm sure. Even if he's hurt, he'll never react with. I've known him too long, he's always ignoring people's comments about him. But why now?

"Something is wrong here boss. W-we got an attack from..." Jade breath hard as he barged into my study room.

"Speak Jade, what's wrong?" I asked impatiently.

"Lincoln is severely injured, he's been attend to now." He replied between breath.

"Lincoln? How come?" I thundered. Did Lincoln sort of pulled some crazy stunt? No! He'll never do that shit, he's always been careful all his life.

"He asked me to accompany him to the warehouse at the hillside, said he needs to get something done immediately." He paused.

"And...?"

"Few minutes to us being inside, we were clouded with smoke. He ordered me out and the next I heard was an explosion. Someone had managed to plant bomb in your warehouse." He finished.

Silence fell.

"I think Lincoln was aware of the attack, don't you think?" He asked.

"How? What did you mean?" I creased my brows in confusion.

"More like being on the enemies' side?" He treaded slowly.

Lincoln?

I let out a sardonic laughter. "He'll never do that, I know that. Be rest assured."

Jade let out a sigh before heading out. My next plan is to know who's behind this before jumping into action...
