TESSA.

“Is that a yes?” Jaxson’s voice came low, his eyes fixed on mine like he already knew the answer.

I turned around, pretending like I hadn’t heard him. “No,” I said flatly, already walking off.

“Then what was that?” he asked, his tone laced with that teasing edge he always used when he wanted to get under my skin.

“It was nothing,” I muttered, not slowing down.

But before I could make it past the hallway, a hand caught mine. I barely had time to breathe before he spun me around and pressed me against the wall. The sound of footsteps and whispers filled the space. Students walking by slowed down, some stopping outright to stare.

My heart jumped against my ribs. “What are you doing?” I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

His eyes didn’t move from mine. He didn’t answer. Instead, he leaned in, closing the distance until I could feel his breath brush against my skin. Then he kissed me.

It wasn’t soft or careful. It was rough, like he’d been holding back for too long. His hand gri

  • His Biker Girl, Her Biker Prince.   Chapter 57

The moment I stepped through the front door, the air felt wrong. It was too quiet. My heart pounded as I looked around the empty living room. The lamps were still on, glowing dimly against the cream walls. A half-empty glass of whiskey sat on the table beside the couch. The faint smell of cigar smoke lingered in the air.I took a slow breath, clutching the gun hidden at the back of my jeans. My fingers brushed against the cold metal, and my stomach twisted. Each step I took up the stairs echoed louder than I expected. The house that once felt alive—the laughter, the noise, the teasing—now felt like a stranger’s place. Every picture on the wall seemed to watch me as I climbed, my chest tightening with each breath. At the top of the stairs, I stopped in front of the heavy wooden door that led to his study. Light poured through the crack beneath it.I didn’t knock.I turned the handle and pushed it open.Victor Kane sat behind his large desk, a cigar between his fingers, a file open in f

TESSA. My body shook as I stayed on the floor, my face wet with tears I couldn’t stop. My breathing came out uneven, shallow, like my lungs had forgotten how to work. I could still hear her voice echoing in my head — He killed your father. Those four words twisted inside me like a knife. My mother was still on the floor too, her body hunched, her sobs breaking the silence between us. I wanted to ask her again, to make sure I heard right, but I was too scared of hearing it twice. Because if I did, then it would mean everything was real — every fear, every doubt, every question I tried to push away. My father was dead because of Victor Kane. Because of Jaxson’s father. The room felt smaller, tighter. I could barely breathe. My mother’s voice broke through my thoughts, soft but shaking. “They were business partners, Tessa,” she said. “Your father and Victor… they built everything together. The MC, the club—everything. They were like brothers.” I turned my head slowly, my vision s

TESSA.I woke up the next morning to the faint light slipping through my curtains. My phone was right beside me on the bed, the screen dark. I picked it up and pressed the button. Nothing. No message. No call. Not even a missed one.My chest tightened.I sat up slowly, staring at the blank screen, wondering if maybe it would light up if I just waited. But it didn’t. It stayed quiet, the same way he did.Jaxson hadn’t texted. Not once.A bitter laugh slipped out before I could stop it. Of course, he didn’t. This wasn’t new. He did this before, disappeared for days like my feelings didn’t matter. But this time felt worse. Maybe because I actually believed him when he said I could trust him.I threw the phone back on the bed and pressed my hands over my face. I could still feel the dull ache in my chest from last night. I told myself I wouldn’t let him do this to me again. I wouldn’t sit here waiting for someone who clearly didn’t care enough to stay.He could have called. He could have

JAXSONMy head felt like it had been slammed against a wall. The pounding was so bad it made the room spin when I opened my eyes. My throat was dry, my tongue heavy, and for a second, I didn’t even know where the hell I was. Then the pieces started coming back, the argument with dad, Ryder, and the drink.I pushed myself up from the bed, my vision blurry, my heartbeat sharp in my ears. The curtains were drawn halfway, and the room was dim. My phone lay on the floor beside the bed. I grabbed it, pressing the power button. The screen lit up — 9:14 p.m.The next day.“What the fuck…” I muttered, sitting up straighter.I slept through the entire day. My chest tightened, a rush of anger crawling up my throat. They drugged me.Ryder and Dad.I noticed the notifications on my phone: dozens of missed calls. There were a few text messages and lots of missed calls, but most were from Tessa. My heart kicked hard in my chest. I opened the messages. Her texts started calm, then turned desperate.“

I walked through the gate and our security man greeted me with a smile.“Hello, Tee.”His voice carried the same warmth it always did, but today, it felt like a weight pressing against my chest. I forced a small smile and waved weakly.“Hi, Mr. John.”He nodded, still smiling, and I could feel his eyes linger as I walked toward the house. Maybe I looked tired. Perhaps he saw the redness around my eyes, the way my steps dragged like I was carrying something heavier than my bag.The moment I opened the door, the smell of fried rice hit my nose. It was warm and familiar, the kind of smell that usually made me smile, but right now it just reminded me how empty I felt inside. My mum walked out of the kitchen holding a tray of food. Her hair was tied up, and her face softened the moment she saw me.“Come, my child. Sit,” she said, her voice gentle as she carried the tray to the dining room.I followed her slowly, my heart tightening with every step. When she turned around after setting the
