The weeks leading up to the crowning ceremony of Dominic was smooth and the feelings between Athena and Dominic had been growing, bot unaware of what tonight will hold in store for them as individuals, their packs and most importantly their relationship as fated mates.
Athena’s P.O.V
I keep checking my emails religiously every day, alas no reply from the company abroad that I applied to work at. It’s been almost two weeks and nothing. Mom has been giving more of the pack work to handle and training and building the strength of our pack has become my priority. Tonight, is the party and crowning ceremony of Alpha Dominic Thunders and I’m still not sure what I will be wearing. “That just about does it”, I get up and leave the pack office and head to the pack house to meet Tessa, we have been best friends ever since I can remember and recently found her mate Ashlin and I can’t help but adore the way he treats her. I brush of the feeling of loneliness that wants to creep up and squeeze my heart. I walk freely into her room and find her all dressed and waiting for me, “You’re always early! I am so glad I have learnt that about you and get ready at least fifteen minutes before you get here”. “Oh stop being such a cry baby Tess” I giggle, “We need to go shopping for a dress for me to wear tonight.” She wiggles her eyebrows at me, I push her off the bed and we get into my car and drive. The drive in my Audi sport is smooth and comfortable the bright red gets the attention of any onlooker. Tessa blabs on about her and Ashlin and I am truly happy for her. I park the car and I know this is going to be one quick shopping spree. Shop after shop we enter and we stop dog tired and I have found nothing for the ceremony tonight. “Tess I am so fed up!”, She laughs at me and teases me “Its just a fling. Right” I hear her mocking tone and I glare at her. I stop and lean back in my chair, her question nagging in my head, from the corner of my eye I see a little boutique Vasilissa Botique the Greek word for “Queen Boutique”, I am drawn to the shop and Tessa follows me and I find the perfect dress, it exudes the word royalty it was a blood red dress V- neck front, off shoulder mermaid fitting dress with a train it was plain and simple and yet something about the dress spoke to me. I tried it on. I look up and hear Tess catch her breath “Athena you look like the queen of queens! YOU HAVE TO TAKE THIS ONE!!!” I rush and shush her giggling and I head to the counter to pay for it after picking up a pair of black heel sandals.
I get home and shower up Tess ran home to get her hair straightener and promised to help me get dressed for the ball I find a mask on my bed and it matches the dress perfectly. I head into the shower and let the water run over my body, I take my raspberry body wash, after a good half an hour I step out and dry my body and put my favorite songs play and I sing along and do my skin care routine. I step out dancing and singing and stop when I notice a figure in my room I clutch my towel and get ready to strike at the person and then a familiar voice breaks out singing one of our favs “Meant to be it will be, it will be, baby just let be!!” we fall on the bed laughing. She then forces me up and I start applying my make up while she straightens my hair, I apply my powder and eyeliner with a small wing, I apply a little highlighter just to highlight my features I apply black liner to the bottom lid of my eye and apply mascara my eye make up brings out my dark brown big eyes, Tessa uses hair spray on my hair and we slick it back to and use black hair pins giving it the slick wet hair look and I clip on my ear cuff that look like wings with a diamond drop to finish of the look. I slip on my dress and it hugs all my curves amazingly. I slip my shoes on and head down to leave with the parentals. I wink at Tess spray a bit of perfume and walk down; my parents smile in approval and we leave.
Athena’s P.O.VIt has been three day. Thirty minutes and forty-five seconds since we brought our beautiful baby girl Zephyra home from the hospital; she was nothing short of a miracle baby, fighting her way into this world against all odds. My mother had decided to come stay with us for a few days to help me move around and Dominic’s mom was in and out of the house making sure we ate timeously. Dominic had to attend urgent pack meetings in regard to security and also
Athena’s P.O.VIt had been a month since the baby shower and I had not opened up any of the gifts that arrived the day after the baby shower and the nursery was not even painted, when is my due date you ask? Ha-ha! Any day! Apparently, my kid looks like he/she will always be on time unlike me; the momma always just making it on time or making a grand entrance. I jumped out of the bed and went to shower. Dominic was fast asleep; he had worked late the entire week after the baby shower and h
Dominic’s P.O.VAthena is almost six months pregnant and at the last ultrasound the doctor informed us to be ready for the baby to arrive within the next month, Athena and I have been doing the nursery up in neutral colours, we want the gender of our baby to be a surprise; mood swings with Athena have been interesting, she moves from happy to angry to sad and crying to confused about what happened. Her counselling to deal with the trauma has been going well and we recently stopped because Athena felt that she was over everything that had happened, I wa
The weeks leading up to the wedding date 14th November was not only exciting but also stressful; Dominic had been pushing the construction company to finish up so that Katherine and the girls could get the decor company in and let them set up, and the wedding invites had been sent to the selected few outside the pack; Athena and Dominic had opted for a Garden wedding and a Beach party reception. Katherine had the decor company set up the seaside facing part of the yard with clear Tiffany chairs and a white carpet for the bridal party to walk down; red rose petals would be scattered just before the bridal party arrived. The wedding altar was a square draped with white net and she had insisted that the tie backs be red, the backdrop behind the priest was t
Athena’s P.O.VI woke up to the beautiful sound of seagulls and the calming ocean, I looked down at my hand and realised none of last night was a dream; I was now engaged to Dominic Thunders and the ring on my finger was nothing short of beautiful. It was a crescent moon encrusted with black diamonds and a dangling star that had a clear diamond on a gold band; I tried to turn in bed to face my fiance but he just pulled me closer to him. He thought I was trying to get out of bed
Dominic’s P.O.VDay three, Athena still had not woken up. The pack had decided that they would hold off all burials and memorials of their loved ones, as they would feel it would be disrespectful to their Luna and Alpha; whom they revered so much. I on the other hand refused to leave Athena’s side, my eyes were red from the lack of sleep and my body had aches all over. I had refused to eat anything until Athena woke up and since then my weight and muscle had started to degenerate; it
