~ADRIAN~

I felt guilty for threatening her. My heart couldn't rest, but that was the only way to get her to do it. All the anger I had for her earlier, dissipated because she was clearly not the whore here, it was her sister.

I wasn't sure she was going to take up the breeding arrangement despite my threat. I mean, considering the way I treated her that night. Every lady in her shoes would hate me and wouldn't want to have anything to do with me. I knew she might hate me now, but she still accepted.

A part of me was happy that she did. So, I decided right here on my balcony never to treat her badly again.

"Aria..." I breathed her name, the event of that night creeping up in my mind. I knew I wasn't in my right head but my body surprisingly ignites whenever I think of it.

I didn't give room for the thoughts because I thought it was her that seduced me. But now that I knew better, I couldn't help but feel shivers at the thought of it. She really felt good.

Realizing where my thoughts were going, I shook my head vigorously.

"No way," I bit my lips. "This is just a breeding arrangement, nothing more."

I decided to bare my mind and concentrate on expecting the full moon. From my balcony – which was beside hers– I could see the full view of the moon when it appeared.

I always repeated this cycle over and over since I became the Alpha King after the death of my father. I would stay on this balcony to usher in the celestial full moon.

At that instant, the appearance began. Little by little it made itself known, till its full size was on display. I could hear different howls from the pack, giving the full moon a warm welcome.

My wolf, Adel, growled inside, begging to be freed to join the rest. I had stepped backwards in readiness to shift when I heard a sharp howl in the next room. It was probably her.

My wolf whined inside of me, and I felt the irresistible urge to go and check up on her.

"What do you say, Adel? Should we go and check on her?"

My wolf purred in anticipation and I took that as a positive response. This was the first time I was concerned about a random lady.

Against my wish, I strode out of the room, and when I got to hers, I turned the doorknob and it opened. That was a relief because I wasn't sure if she would want to open the door for me. Not after the hurt that was etched on her face at the Hills household when I threatened her.

Stepping in, I caught sight of a shiny silver wolf on the balcony. Her wolf was attractive, I couldn't agree more. And the size was beyond the size of a normal wolf.

Her wolf... Something was familiar about her wolf, even its size. I couldn't quite pinpoint...wait... It was Adriana's wolf that she looked like. Wow! What a big coincidence.

When I recollected myself I took a few steps further into the room, having a clearer view of her wolf whose gaze was fixed at me.

"Are you okay, Aria? I heard your howls from across my room." I asked, my voice coming out soft to my amazement.

I was almost on the balcony before she shifted back, falling on the floor and panting. I guess it was her first shift.

She hesitated in standing up and I crossed the remaining distance to help her, but before I stepped into the balcony she was already on her feet.

My eyes beheld her body again, but this time I was sober enough to take in every part. Damn! She had one hell of a sexy curvaceous body.

My gaze swept through her body, right from her legs up to her lap, and resting on her round firm breast. My body shivered, and a sizzling sensation shot through my spine.

The last time I felt this way was when Adriana was alive. And surprisingly, my wolf was also delighted to set his eyes on her. What was that supposed to mean?

Was it because the goddess chose her to bear my pup? It had to be it.

Her gaze rested on me when she finally got her breath and the look on her face showed she noticed the way my eyes were hovering over her body.

She looked down at her discarded clothes on the floor and back to me.

"Yes, I am okay. Can you please leave? I want to wear my clothes."

I smirked at her words, and instead of stepping away, I stepped closer to her, my eyes fixed on her breast.

"Aren't you going to give me space to wear my clothes?" She asked again with arched brows.

I wasn't listening to what she was saying. How could I when my body was reacting to the sight in front of me? I couldn't have enough of it, and no, I didn't want her to cover it.

"Aria..." I uttered in a surprisingly low and husky voice that I had never used since Adriana died. My body was already heated and despite my earlier resolve not to have anything else with any girl, I found myself closing the tiny distance between us.

My eyes rested on her bare waist and I felt her tense. It was just as if her body was the surge my body had been waiting for to get electrified. This was all new and I kept wondering why my body was acting on its own accord.

She leaned into me, her strawberry scent wafting through my nose and filling my senses. Without thinking, I buried my face inside her velvety blonde hair.

"Hmmm..." I moaned as I inhaled the scent of her hair wash. Everything about her was so perfect and enticing.

My already hard member pressed against her bare fold making me groan. She pushed her hand gently against my rock-hard chest. Her small frame fitting perfectly with my muscular build.

The warning bell of my resolve was ringing at the back of my head, but I paid no heed.

I was already intoxicated by her. Her scent, her body, her subtle resistance which wasn't lost to me.

She was fighting the chemistry but she wasn't winning. I couldn't back down, not when my body was already high and seeking hers.

"You smell so good..." I whispered into her ears and I felt her body shivering. Hell, mine was already a shivering mess. I couldn't decipher how my body surprisingly awoke after so many years of celibacy. Well, she broke it today, and it wasn't supposed to be a shock if my body still yearned for it.

I was supposed to hate her for breaking the celibacy I built over the years, honoring the memory of my loving mate.

Instead of hating her, I was here basking in her scent and getting heated in every way possible.

Without wasting further time, I lifted her chin which was buried in my chest, and sought for her lips. She didn't pull back, nor did she throw any further resistance.

Just as my lips mated with hers in a deep, slow kiss, I lost all sense of right thinking and the thoughts of Adriana. My lips devoured hers with so much hunger I couldn't decipher.

  • His Breeder, His Second Chance Mate   Chapter 40 Identity Crisis...

~ARIA~ Cora texted me that she was already home by the time I finished at the Eatery. I had to stay back and get done with my meal. While the Alpha could graciously leave his meal halfway, I couldn't because I didn't like wasting resources, much more food. I got over the butterflies in my stomach, because its inventor wasn't around at the moment. His final words, "Better get ready for me tonight." Stayed with me till I left the eatery with shaky legs. Sure I would. But the thought of what he would do to me brought back the butterflies that had hitherto deserted my stomach. Great! I stepped out of the Eatery, glancing around as the friendly air blew in my direction. They weren't friendly to my sensitive body, thereby making me feel a little cold. All because the Alpha's words couldn't leave my ears. "Girl! Where are you?" Cora's voice literally rang from the other end, as soon as my call went through. "I'm still in front of the Eatery. Any direction as to how I can find my

~ARIA~"Don't pop champagne just yet, princess. The battle had just begun. I will have him back no matter what." I analyzed, halfway through our meal. That was one of the couple of statements Harriett made during our squabble earlier today. The one that struck a nerve. Now, it all made sense. Obviously, Harriett had already made plans to use her position as the heiress to bring Alpha Adrian to her bosom again. So, that was what was inflating her ego? Her father's money. From what I heard from Alpha Adrian, he had been chasing that contract for a while now.It seemed to me that the partnership wouldn't have been awarded if Harriett hadn't gotten involved. Wow! How convenient.Still looking as shell-shocked as they came, I guarded my gaze— which unknowingly strayed, along with my thoughts— back to Alpha Adrian. His eyes were slightly narrowed at me, as his hands held the wine glass close to his lips.I schooled my expression back to normalcy as I held his gaze. I was curious to know

  • His Breeder, His Second Chance Mate   Chapter 38 His Striping Gaze.

~ARIA~ With several measured breaths, I found myself padding through the door of the eatery, my heart pounding in anticipation. Cora left immediately after we got here, but not before tilting a knowing gaze at me as well as a smile that indicated she could see through my already frayed nerves. "Call you later," she had tossed over her shoulder before setting off to cross the slightly busy road back to the pack's market. Now, I was standing by the door, glancing around and sniffing to find his scent. I didn't need to sniff further because his overwhelming pinewood scent filled my nose as my gaze rested on him. Well, he had already seen me because his eyes were already making me feel as though I was naked and at his service. Damn! Talk about a striping gaze. More than anything, I wished Cora was here, so she could witness this torturing gaze and tell me if he wasn't feeling the same way I was. Even if he hadn't said anything in that regard, I found confidence in that gaze he was sh

  • His Breeder, His Second Chance Mate   Chapter 37 "Perfect Watermelon."

~ARIA~Cora hit the watermelon repeatedly, scrunching her face in dissatisfaction. "It isn't ripe."We had finished buying everything on the list her mum gave her and now we were roaming the entire market all over again, looking for the watermelon that suited Cora's taste. I couldn't help chuckling at her contorted face."Let's check the store down there," she muttered, dragging me along immediately as though sensing I was about to protest. Thank Goddess I was wearing low-heeled sandals and not a high one. Goddess knew I would be literally dragging Cora away right now."Why don't you just pick one already?" Despite being in comfortable footwear, I wasn't ready to roam the market a second time because of the watermelon.Cora turned sharply, giving me a quizzical look. The kind that screamed, "Are you really saying that right now?"I could interpret all of Cora's looks, the same way she could interpret mine. "Did you by any chance conveniently forget that watermelon is my favorite fru

  • His Breeder, His Second Chance Mate   Chapter 36 No Partnership...

~ADRIAN~Hardly had I flopped myself on my comfy upholstered office chair behind my mahogany desk when a soft knock sounded on the door. I knew who it was even without asking. "Come in." I also knew he wouldn't step foot into the office without my permission, despite being my managing director and Beta. He accorded me respect that much without having me spell it out for him. I barely finished the last word when he slightly pushed the door open and sauntered in. I kept my gaze focused on my large shelf that was located in the right corner of my large office. He crossed the distance between the door and my desk and settled on the office chair across from mine. I could feel his gaze on me, but he dared not speak till I had urged him to."You can say what you want to say, Dex." My gaze drifted to the mural of my wolf beside the shelf. I usually looked at it whenever I was losing myself to pressure and to remind myself of who I was. Being an Alpha of one of the strongest packs and a CEO

  • His Breeder, His Second Chance Mate   Chapter 35 Backing Out...

~ADRIAN~I looked on from Dexter to the rest of the Dell company representatives whose faces I was familiar with. I had met them during the early phase of the contract deal. But why hadn't I met Harriett?Scratch that! Why didn't I know that she was the daughter of Lucas Dell? Fair enough, I knew that she was from a wealthy family, but I never met them. I was getting around to doing that when I met my mate, Adrianna. Now, she was standing right in front of me, staring at me with a smirk that mirrored just how much she enjoyed fooling me. Not only that. There was a triumphant look on her face that screamed, 'I already had you where I wanted you.'Signing the deal of partnership meant working with her. And from the terms of the contract, their party would have a higher say since they were the one in charge of the production of the laptops that would be registered as my company's production.I wanted my company to expand in tech production, which was why I decided to include the producti
