6. Seducing the CEO

KIKI POV

“What the fuck?” Nathan thundered, his eyes filled with rage as his white shirt dripped with brown malty tea.

“I…I am sorry, Mr Montgomery”

Was I sorry? Well not really but the look on his face made me regret intentionally spilling the tea.

That is what he gets for making me walk to and fro.

“Shit,” Nathan cursed under his breath, looking at his stained white shirt. It must be so icy on his skin, but he was surprisingly calm, with his jaw clenched.

My eyes moved to the tissue box on the desk, I dispensed a sheet so I could help clean the huge stain the tea had caused.

As I got closer, I didn't expect Nathan to yank my hand away from him forcefully, “This is part of your trick, isn't it?”

“I am trying to help you clean off—”

“Help me?” Nathan scoffed as he dragged the tissue paper from my grip, using it to brush his shirt himself.

I straightened, “I am sorry, it was a mistake…”

Nathan gestured for me to stop talking.

“The tea your friend was talking about over the phone,” his eyes fixed on me. “That is what you do? Go around with men and discuss it during work hours?”

My brows knitted in confusion, I didn't expect he would talk about it since he was clearly acting like I didn't exist and the night between us never happened.

“We were talking about a movie” I lied through my teeth, just maybe he would be dumb to believe me.

“Don’t play dumb with me,” Nathan responded like he just read my mind. “That night you knew exactly who I was”

I opened my mouth to speak but Nathan shut me again, “Let me finish…” his voice laced with coldness that sent shivers down my spine.

He was nothing like the man I had given my virginity to that night.

“…today you show up at my company for a job, what game are you trying to play?” Nathan completed

“Are you finished speaking?” I half shouted, pausing just so Nathan knew his intimidating presence wasn't taking any hold of me, “I didn't know who you were when we met. If I had known you were Harry’s friend nothing would have happened between us—you lied about your name too”

“I do that for security purposes” he shrugged

“So you are the one that goes around with different women” I said more than asked. “What would be your next name, Teddy?”

A discomforting silence stretched between us.

“That means this is all a coincidence” Nathan broke the silence, pulling his tie off angrily “Harry calls in for a favor at my company for his sister and it happens to be you,”

“Yes” I responded “And we can start over, look past what happened between us that night”

“What happened between us?” Nathan asked, arching his brow with an empty expression.

That, that has to be the greatest denial in human history.

“So why did you give me an entry role despite the fact that I am your friend's sister?”

“I don’t mix business with my personal life,” he said, dropping his tie on the table.

Another thing I read about Nathan was how much of a principled man he was, and true to it, he looked as described when he was behind his desk.

If anyone had seen him when we were half drunk and dancing at the club, if anyone knew that he was living a double life when he wasn't wearing a suit, white shirt and tie…

“Since you can’t even get a tea right how can I trust you with a higher role, Kiki”

The way he called my name was nothing compared to the sexy voice from that night.

“I hate tea. I never included that I am a professional tea brewer in my CV” I said respectfully.

“Last time I checked, I am the CEO of this company and you will do whatever I tell you to do even if it is in your CV or not, understood?”

“Yes,” I responded dryly, if only I knew that I was agreeing to something bigger than me.

“You would call me Sir, understood”

I almost rolled my eyes, what was the harsh attitude all about?

“Yes…sir”

Nathan moved his hands to unbutton his shirt. The first button, then the second, that was my cue to leave and not stand there looking like a clueless employee.

“I will come back to clean the floor,” I said, quickly turning around.

“Don’t move an inch,” his command froze me on the spot.

He continued unbuttoning his shirt, oh my lord, what was he doing? I felt a hard lump in my throat and I quickly gulped it down.

When he was done with the buttons, he raised his arms and took his shirt off so his chest was left bare.

He flapped the white shirt, focusing on the stain while I just…

I just stood there pretending like I was not looking—admiring his broad shoulders and arms that had held my curves that night, this was him in broad daylight, sober, as my boss.

He may be an asshole but he was still God damn handsome, tall, muscular, perfectly sculpted jawlines.

Exactly the man I had danced with at the club, with a charming smile, but that smile was now invisible

I forced my eyes to look elsewhere, I didn’t know where else to look, the desk? The white walls? The desk?

“Is there something on my chest?” Nathan’s eyes caught mine looking right at him.

Oh shit.

“I…I”

Before I could even utter a meaningful word, Nathan threw his shirt on my face, his cologne sticking into my nose.

I removed the shirt from my face, my expression hardened, what was that for?

“Wash it, and bring it back to me tomorrow, you are dismissed,” he bit out.

I closed Nathan’s door but I didn't move an inch, I just stood there, then closed my eyes while forcing my lungs to take in air, fresh air that didn't smell anything like Nathan’s cologne.

“Unbelievable,” Miss Burgundy’s voice made my eyes go open.

She walked closer to the door, her heels slamming on the floor as she stopped right in front of me, her gaze moved to the shirt I was holding.

“You are seducing the CEO already?”

KIKI POV “Who did that to you?”I swallowed a lump down my throat. Everyone was waiting for me to say something. My eyes were fixed on Mr. Montgomery but my eyes somehow trailed to Miss Burgundry who was standing behind his seat. She was his secretary. She was the reason I fell and tore my gown in the hallway.Stacy—that was the name Corey had called her back in the office.I would get back at her, but not like that. I was bullied in high school and the last thing I did was allow someone else to fight my bullies for me.“I…uh lost my step in the hallway,” I said Immediately Miss Burgundry’s face eased a little, she may think I let it slide just this time. But I don’t want to look like the new employee who ran to the CEO because someone tore her dress. “And?” Mr. Montgomery didn’t let the topic drop.“I didn’t expect the cabinet to…to,”“Enough!” Mr. Montgomery lashed out, Oh dear Lord, what if he knew I was lying, I could lose my damn job and that Stacy girl wouldn’t even be bot

  • His Curvy Secretary, His Ruin   11. Mr. Non-Negotiable

KIKI POV I swear I may still be drunk. What the hell was I thinking when I decided to kiss Mr. Montgomery? How dare he even kiss me back? Why didn’t he shove me away, yell at me and throw me out of his office? Why didn’t he fire me? I like the way he kissed me…. “Stop dreaming, Kiki,” I muttered under my breath. He was way out of my league, had a side hustle as a womanizer and to top it, my brother’s friend. Even if I found him attractive and was turned on by his presence that was the last thing I would ever let him know. Right, my brother. We didn’t have the closest relationship so we rarely talked but I made a mental note to call him after work. I had just arrived back at my office, taking in a deep breath as I scanned through the spread sheet I was supposed to turn in tomorrow. The door of my office flew open and Miss Burgundy stepped inside “I underestimated you,” she purred. “You have been promoted so you have a new office, and this is your new employment clause,”

  • His Curvy Secretary, His Ruin   10. Play with Fire

NATHAN POV Last night when I dropped off Kiki and drove away, by the time I realized I was speeding, it was already too late. A police car was trailing closely behind me with the blaring siren, flashing blue and red lights so I could pull over. Even though I had just dumped my best friend's sister kilometers away yet I could still hear her voice, how she had spoken to me. Throwing her out of my car didn’t even relieve how insulted and disrespected I felt, no one, I mean no one, had the right to do that to me. If I let it slide the first time, then it would repeat again and again. My rule of life was not to tolerate any bullshit the first time. I pulled over, looking at the rearview mirror as the police officer approached my car “Running late for dinner?” The police officer asked me, stopping to look at me through my open window. “I didn’t realize I was speeding.” I didn’t smile. I had never been a people pleaser. “Can I see your ID?” I removed the seat belt, le

  • His Curvy Secretary, His Ruin   9. Marry Me

KIKI “Get out,” Wait, what? We were in the middle of the road, late at night and…Nathan pushed the car door wide then leaned back in his seat. This wasn’t a joke.“Sir, with all due respect…”Fuck it, he didn’t deserve even an ounce of my respect.“…you should have just left me in the club instead of driving all the way here to kick me out of your car”Mr Montgomery didn’t say a word, he just looked straight ahead, drumming his fingers on the steering wheel and his jaw twitching. I sighed, pulling myself and my bag together so I could leave his damn car. I didn’t realize the red traffic light had turned green, Mr. Montgomery hit the accelerator, moving the car with my side of the door still open.“Jesus!” I exclaimed, then he stopped. “I don’t have time to waste,” he turned to“What if I had fallen out of the moving car? I shouted. “Are you trying to get me killed?”What other answer was I looking for? Clearly he was. Cars behind began to honk impatiently for him to move. Mr. M

  • His Curvy Secretary, His Ruin   8. Get out

KIKI POV Taylor and I didn’t have as much in common as I had thought. I mean who went to parties on a Monday night? Taylor. And when she asked me to join her at Grove club I didn’t think about it twice, I needed the club to clear my head. I took a shot, the taste of wine burning on my tongue and closing my eyes didn’t make it any sweeter. “You will grow into it, trust me” Taylor laughed at my facial expression Trust a girl I just met days ago? Well jokes on me I trusted a man enough to sleep with him that night. “I hope so,” I replied, dropping the tiny shot glass. Talk about bad influence? That was Taylor except that I was an adult and I had my decisions to make. “Kiki, loosen the fuck up!” Taylor pushed my shoulder a little to tease me. “It’s just…I don’t really party,” “Seriously?” she looked at me in surprise “But you came the last time,” “That was because I had just caught Jordan cheating and needed a distraction,” “I am really sorry if you are not the party
