KASH. Two more days have passed, and we have been travelling mostly by car since then, without stopping, but today something wasn’t right and Ziahra was adamant we’ll be stopping at a place to stay for the night. The decision was abrupt, but no one questioned her and I didn’t manage to get her alone to ask her what was going on either. It was actually the last of my concerns, especially since Evelyn was no longer eating and she was refusing to speak, simply nodding when spoken to, almost as if she didn’t want to communicate with anyone. Zerachiel was as arrogant as ever, but didn’t seem bothered by her silence. Ragnar had said she had been crying after Zerachiel had talked to her, and it makes me wonder if he had said something to make her end up like this. I’ve been watching him, and the more I see of him, the less I like him. To me, it feels as if he’s the only bad thing about Zedkiel himself. “Are you alright?” I ask Evelyn as she settles down onto the bed in her motel room.

EVANGELINE. I have never worn a dress with so many jewels, yet at the same time feel as light as I do. The lightweight shimmering silver fabric somehow holds the tiny diamonds that adorn it, despite how flimsy the fabric appears to me. The skirt that flares at my thighs seems to float around my feet, as it hugs my thighs. It is strapless and attached to the back, is a glimmering darker silver fluid-looking fabric, that trails on the ground behind me. Unlike the dress which contains only tiny jewels, this top layer contains diamonds in several colours, different shades of reds, greys and clear diamonds. All combined to create a beautiful design on the trail. My neck, arms and ears are glittering with jewels, and upon my head is a matching crown. The only makeup I am wearing is a deep red coloured lipstick. My hair is styled in a small quiff to hold my tiara, the rest is left open, glittering with tiny jewels. EVANGELINE. ‘Evangeline…’ Zedkiel murmurs. ‘Do you have faith in me?’ I ask softly through the mind link. Our eyes meet, and he frowns before giving a small nod. Seeing the wisps of light that begin to rise from all around us, from the walls and the ground itself. The light begins to swirl in the air as they grow and join one another before they begin wrapping around me. It's intense and for a moment I can’t breathe, before the tendrils begin to sink into my skin. I feel it, the pure power of the moon itself. My hair moves in a non-existent wind, swirling around me. “Then with the power vested in me, by his Supreme Majesty, the Eternal God, I announce you, Goddess Evangeline, the rightful and only Goddess of the Moon!” The symbols swirl around me, wrapping around my arms and body like a chain binding me. EVANGELINE. The door closes behind us and we are left in one of the grand sitting rooms of the palace. A waterfall fountain is against one wall, splitting open as it parts down the centre, curving along the archway that leads off from the room. I hope I have made the right choice in asking to see him. After all, I have prepared these questions for long enough! “What will it be, let's cut to the chase.” He says coldly. I step forward, knowing that he clearly isn’t one for games. “On behalf of Selene, I ask for your forgiveness. Please end her punishment. ZIAHRA. It’s been two hours since I snapped his neck, but he is still unmoving. His heart hasn’t beat, and he is simply lying there lifeless. What did I do? Fuck, I killed him! My heart is thundering as I cradle his head in my lap. We’re still in his motel room, a place that can be broken into without a hitch. But there’s no way I can move him anywhere safer or more secure. ZIAHRA. I killed him! My heartbeat rings in my ears, my entire body freezing up as I realise what I have just done. Blade’s body drops to the ground, and I jump back. A shaky gasp leaves me as I stare at the dead body of one of my closest comrades. KASH. I’m behind her within a split second and we both leave the motel. I make sure to shut the door behind us as I rush after her. We don’t need someone seeing that body or blood right now, that will only add to everything that is already going on. Her heart is pounding violently as I try to ask her what happened. “What happened?!” I ask again. “Gray! He tried to connect with me!” Something’s happened… She keeps running. We’re on the road now and I have no fucking clue as to where she’s going. But it’s clear she knows. “He!
