Chapter twenty four

The stillness in the streets was ruined by a loud honk. A bus was rapidly approaching Marcelyn from behind.

Her skin was bruised as a result of her quick leap out of the way. She stood irate and continued to stare at the bus as it quickly disappeared from view.

Marcelyn scoffed, "Darn these modern carriages," and padded up the road in the same direction as the "modern carriage." She appeared particularly hungry and as though she wouldn't have anything to eat that evening.

From a distance, Marcelyn noticed a tall building with numerous people entering and exiting it.

Additionally, there was a line of cars in front of it that had to flash red lights above them. Stretchers were quickly wheeled into the building from the vehicles.

Marcelyn was awestruck by the sight of it even though she quickly realized that it was a place for the sick.
