Earl, the vampire leader for the past one thousand years, sat at the dining table along with some elders of the clan who helped him with ruling the clan and making sure everything was in order. He had just received another letter from the head of the human clan of the nearby village about his daughter, Marcelyn, and he felt sad.Why wouldn't he? He was the vampire leader and he had made the rules, but his daughter was the one breaking those rules with no regard for his reputation. Marcelyn sat down immediately and Earl asked the servant to get his daughter a cup. When the servant arrived with the new cup, Earl poured his daughter a cup of vervain.Marcelyn picked up the cup and gulped down its entire content immediately. Jude shouted to his identical twin brother, "Jayden, come and see what I just found." Jayden and his companions hurried over to hear what Jude was saying. When they arrived at the location of the other teen, Jayden hissed at his brother when he realized it was just a squirrel with a black and white striped color that was lined horizontally on the animal's fur, which had his brother squeaking for joy like a three-year-old child. Jayden watched amused as his brother pulled out his phone and started taking pictures of the squirrel, which surprisingly stood still for a while. The others expressed their annoyance by leaving Jude and the squirrel and dispersing across the mountain they were on in search of something that would make the trip to the mountain worthwhile. Marcelyn noticed how dark it was when she first opened her eyes wide inside the coffin. She gathered her strength and yanked the cover covering the coffin's top that was obstructing the light. She adjusted her vampire eyes so they could see through the darkness and then she took a look around. She became immediately aware that she was in a cave. As Marcelyn rose from the corpse, she groaned in pain throughout her body.She sank back into the coffin and gave her body time to adapt to the new stage it was on. She pulled her body up, climbed out of the coffin, and stood straight once she judged that enough time had passed for her body to readjust. Her body sagged as hunger overcame her. She began to crawl on the floor using her arms and legs to prop her body forward.When she emerged from the cave, she discovered that she was surrounded by rocks and dirt. She grimaced as she considered how she could escape the area by crawling without causing any physical harm. Marcelyn stopped c

Marcelyn noticed she was still naked as she looked down at herself. As another of the large boxes stopped in front of her and the people inside yelled insults at her, shame overcame her. She turned into the first corner. She saw another box approaching and moved into its safety when she saw that it was comparatively quiet. She considered how much had changed in the years she had been asleep, which wasn't even a thousand years, as she walked away from the corner.She was aware of this because it takes that long for a new fang to grow into a sharp one after the old one has been removed. She was certain, however, that she hadn't been away from the human world for that long since her fangs were still baby ones. She turned as a sudden light flashed into her face to see another of the large boxes heading straight for her. The large box abruptly came to a stop in front of her before she could react.
