PREVIOUS NIGHT

----------------

Just a step past the threshold of his room, Daniel shrugged Jessica's hand off his shoulder, causing her to fall on the floor, sliding along the tall door. How much he hates unnecessary touches and conversations but it was his ruse for which he had to bear such torment.

Easing the muscles of his shoulder, Daniel brought out a cigar between his fingers and crouched down to Jessica's level while lighting it up. Just a few days and a few conversations, counting scarce words, were enough for the man to study the situation.

At the event of the official announcement, Jessica's father, Antonio Romano made one foul mistake. As his wife confirmed to him that the news of their marriage was sourced to Jessica, Daniel could smoothly process the level of desperation the Romanos were bearing. So desperate ... that they took that point one per cent chance of Daniel's marriag

She dared not probe deeper into it... It was hellacious. And, worse than that - it was Mili's breathing as she struggled to inhale at a steady rhythm. Her hands were locked behind her head, palms flattened against the wall as she willed herself to stay upright. But even with her eyes squeezed shut, she couldn't erase him from her mind. "My baby... My little seductress," he drawled indulgently. But his hands were not indulgent as his one hand braced beside her head and the other rubbed her skin exactly where the slit of her dress revealed her upper thigh for the whole time she was at the party. Her heart pounded violently against her ribs, her breath uneven. His unhinged self was ridiculous. Unreasonable. Mili gulped urgently... A tainted moan escaped her lips as he thrust a bit more h

She answered the question with another question. "I saw you looking at him during lunch," Miliani said truthfully, her voice soft but insistent. Emilia rolled her eyes at Mili's concern and laughed it off lightly and said, "That? That's what any girl in my place would do, trust me. You're reading too much into it." Miliani's shoulders relaxed slightly at her spontaneous answer, but she could not decide whether to take it in a negative way or a positive way! "Look...," Emilia added, casually leaning back against the vanity. "I know you know that I kind of liked him in the past. With that face and physique .. who in her right mind wouldn't? So, I won't lie about it. But a married man?" She made a face. "Eww! Not my thing, Miliani. But..." She paused, her eyes narrowing in thought and then said,

A large desk stood in one corner, cluttered with documents, cigars and a half-empty glass of whiskey. The bed in the distance was massive, draped in black silk sheets - the kind that seemed to swallow light. Everything about this room made her feel like she was stepping into his shadow, where nothing else existed but him. She felt small. Unexpectedly vulnerable. Out of place. "Are you going to just stand there, or are you coming in?" His voice cut through her thoughts like a blade. Her gaze snapped to him. Daniel stood by the floor-length mirror, carefully adjusting the cuffs of his suit. He was already dressed for the party, wearing a black three-piece suit that hugged his broad frame. He looked too perfect to be true. Miliani stepped inside closing the door behind her. He didn't speak at first; he just wa

  • His Ensnared Innocence   65| Visiting the family

Quick info:- Adam Brown had two daughters from his first marriage: Rosalia (married to Daniel's older brother, Kevin Knight) and Emilia Brown. Later, he married Miliani's mother, a visually impaired woman with a son from her first marriage named Luca (he is now deceased), in Italy (solely for legal advantages because he was starting to work with the Romanos behind the Knight's back). Miliani's mother was unaware of Adam's previous marriage or family. She fell into his trap and married him; that's how Miliani was born. Later she died when Mili was around seventeen years old. Adam first served as the general physician for the Knight family. However, when the Romanos conspired to murder Daniel's parents, Adam played a significant role by poisoning Daniel's mother. Afterwards, he fled permanently to Italy under the Romanos' protection to save his life. Eventually, the Knights captured him, and he is now imprisoned in the basement of their mansion. ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪

That's why she responded, "B-but, there's one condition- you cannot touch me." Her boldness caught Daniel off guard for a brief moment before his smirk returned, sharper than before as he liked it. He scooped her up into his arms effortlessly in a firm grip. "Oh, poverina," he mocked in an intimate, raspy tone, "You won't be able to walk after I win." (poor thing) Mili's cheeks flushed due to his mere voice but her resolve remained strong. She was certain she could win if he did not touch her. It was all because of his proximity, his skin to skin contact as she decided to believe. Daniel placed her on the bed gently. "Bunny...," he leaned backwards, his lips inches from her ear without actually touching

Last time she was this much frightened - it was the day of her wedding. Across from her, Enzo exuded raw authority, his piercing gaze never leaving her face. Even for a moment. His presence filled the room like a storm cloud, suffocating and electric. "It was all your ploy, wasn't it?" He asked coldly. Tulip nodded feebly. Her dry throat tightened as she agreed, "Yes." "You still do have a lot of nerve, my dear wife," His lips curled into a humourless smile. Enzo leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table. His dark eyes were screaming with a dangerous intensity. "Do you have any idea what you've done?" he hissed. "Don't you understand the consequences of your actio
