When Emily woke up the next morning, she woke up with a banging headache, a strain in her eyes, and the realization that she had been kidnapped, but why were they still alive?

Why did the kidnappers return them safely? It didn't make sense to her or were they keeping tabs on them? where they watching them seeing if they would run to the police.

She didn't know she found herself checking the window every time she thought about it but when she looked she couldn't find any car or any suspicious movement it bothered her that it had taken so long for her to remember, she knew she couldn't have been drunk, she wasn't much of a drinker and even if she was she always knew her limits.
