Brinda's P.O.V

“Sofie, are we done packing?!” I shouted, my voice bouncing off the walls, half excited, half in disbelief.

From the bathroom, Sofie yelled back, “Yes, girl! Finally! All the clothes, baby stuff, your documents—everything! Even that ridiculous pile of shoes you insisted on bringing!”

I let out a breathy laugh while brushing my teeth.

“That wasn’t ridiculous. That was emotional support footwear.” I said.

She stepped in, hands on her waist, shaking her head dramatically. “You an

Brinda's P.O.V “Sofie, are we done packing?!” I shouted, my voice bouncing off the walls, half excited, half in disbelief. From the bathroom, Sofie yelled back, “Yes, girl! Finally! All the clothes, baby stuff, your documents—everything! Even that ridiculous pile of shoes you insisted on bringing!”I let out a breathy laugh while brushing my teeth. “That wasn’t ridiculous. That was emotional support footwear.” I said. She stepped in, hands on her waist, shaking her head dramatically. “You and your excuses. Brinda, I swear, one day I’ll write a book about you.” while I smiled softly. If only she knew how close to breaking I was inside.Sofie dropped beside me, nudging my shoulder. “But seriously… we did it. You’re really about to start over.”I swallowed.Start over. Those words hit deeper than she knew.I placed my hand over my belly, rubbing slow circles. “Yeah… start over.”She stood up suddenly like she remembered something. “Oh! I almost forgot. I’m heading to the mall to grab

  • His Favorite Sin   What have I become

Jason P.O.V I checked the wall clock for the fifth time in ten minutes.7:48 p.m.I exhaled slowly.“She should have been home by now…”Mrs. Abigail was arranging the plates on the dining table, moving back and forth like everything was normal. The food was already plated. The candles were lit. Even the stupid soft music was playing in the background.Everything was ready.Except Brinda.I pulled out my phone again and stared at her contact.Still no missed calls.Still no message.I typed.“Where are you.”Sent.I waited.Nothing.I locked my phone and leaned back on the couch, rubbing my palms together. I didn’t know why my chest felt tight. I tried to tell myself she was probably stuck in traffic. Or maybe she stopped somewhere. But something didn’t feel right.Mrs. Abigail turned to look at me.“Sir… should I keep the food warm?”“Yes,” I replied quickly. “She’ll be here soon.”I wasn’t sure who I was reassuring — her or myself.Mrs. Abigail nodded and walked back into the kitche

  • His Favorite Sin   Quite Era

Brinda's P.O.V The car was too quiet. Not the peaceful kind. The dangerous kind.Nathan’s hands were steady on the steering wheel, eyes fixed on the road like nothing in this world could distract him. Meanwhile, my heart was beating like it wanted to jump out of my chest and run before me.“Think, Brinda. Think fast before things get worse.” I wandered. Every second that passed felt like borrowed time.I folded my hands on my lap, fingers trembling despite my effort to stay calm. My phone was buried inside my bag, screen off, silent—but I could almost feel it burning against my skin.“You’ve been quiet,” Nathan said while clearing his throat. I forced a small laugh. “Should I be talking?”He glanced at me briefly, then back to the road. “You always talk to me Brinda. What's change.” He added. “Nothing has changed Nathan, all I just need is my space beside I love my new quiet Era.”I said. “Is there something you want to talk about.” Nathan asked. My chest tightened.“That was adr

  • His Favorite Sin   Just for you

Jason P.O.V I had never felt happiness like this. Not in years. My chest felt tight, my face hurt from smiling too much, and yet… I couldn’t stop. Brinda was coming home. She was really coming back. Alive. Safe. My world suddenly had color again.I paced around the living room like a man who had been holding his breath for a decade. My phone was still in my hand, but I didn’t care about calls or messages. Nothing mattered except the thought of her walking through that door.“Mrs. Abigail!” I called, my voice louder than I intended. She appeared, hands still dusted with flour, eyes wide. “Yes, sir?”“She’s coming back,” I said quickly, almost too loudly. “Brinda… she’s coming home.”Her lips parted, and for a moment I thought she would faint from relief. “Oh, Lord… she’s finally coming back to us?”“Yes!” I said, grinning like a kid who just stole candy. “Alive. Safe. And she’s coming home. Can you believe it?”Mrs. Abigail’s eyes glimmered with something I couldn’t read. Joy? Relief?

Brinda's P.O.VThe hall smelled of disinfectant and impatience.I stared as people sat in rows, some whispering, some scrolling endlessly on their phones, others staring straight ahead like they were afraid to blink and miss their names being called. My palms were damp, my fingers curled tightly around my documents like someone might snatch my future away if I loosened my grip. This was it.No turning back. When my name was called, my heart jumped violently against my chest. I stood up slowly, my legs feeling strangely light and heavy at the same time, and followed the officer behind the glass door.Biometrics.Fingerprints.Photograph.Short instructions delivered with no emotion.I did everything they asked, nodding, responding when necessary, my mind barely catching up with my body. I kept telling myself to breathe. Just breathe. One step at a time. When it was over, I was asked to sit again.Minutes felt like hours. Then my name was called… again. This time, the officer slid a pa

  • His Favorite Sin   Where is she?

Jason P.O.VThe house was quiet againToo quiet. Not the normal kind of quiet where Brinda would be in the room, sulking or humming softly while pretending not to notice me. This one felt wrong. Empty. Cold. Like something had been ripped out and the space hadn’t learned how to breathe yet.No footsteps. No voice. No movement upstairs.“Brinda. Brinda?” I called out, already annoyed that she had once again managed to unsettle me without doing anything.Silence answered.I checked my watch. Late evening. She should be home. She always was. Even when she avoided me, she never stayed out like this.My jaw tightened.I walked deeper into the house, loosening my tie, scanning the living room, the kitchen, the hallway. Everything looked… normal. Too normal. Like someone had carefully erased her presence.I headed straight for the kitchen. Mrs. Abigail was there, stirring something on the stove, humming softly like nothing in this world was wrong.“Mrs. Abigail. Have you seen Brinda?” I aske

Jason P.O.VTears streamed down my eyes at the thought of losing my brother.I kept pacing thinking about how my life could be broken.“I know that we both have so many misunderstandings, baby brother, but please don't leave me in this cruel world.” I kept on dwelling while going back and forth hop

Jason P.O.V “Arhhg, I feel so stupid right now because give me a reason why I almost broke my hand for a woman,” I thought while getting out of bed. Brinda's P.O.V The news that the operation was successful filled my heart with joy that I didn't notice when I hugged Jason out of excitement which immediately made me feel awkward. “Um, soo sorry, I was just excited about the news and didn't mean to cross any boundaries,” I said in a low tone ho
