INICIAR SESIÓNJason P.O.V
I stare at my reflection wondering if I should back out of this event, but I know that it is not in my place to make such a decision. This was a once-in-a-lifetime event where you meet men with standards, with a mixture of wealth and power. Men known to change destinies with just a flick of their fingers. “I can't believe that I have to carry that whore with me,” I muttered, rubbing my forehead…searching for answers that didn't exist.
I stormed to her room and pounded on the door “Brinda! Open up.” I knocked repeatedly.
Silence.
“Ugh! You know what? If you're not ready when it's time to leave, you're on your own, bitch!” I snapped, my voice laced with anger, with clenched fists, struggling to keep myself from exploding, but yet no answer.
I returned to my room, pacing like lion in a cage. What gave her such guts to ignore me? I was Jason Adams. No one ignored me. “I can't believe the mess I got myself into, and I can't wait to get rid of her once she delivers.”
The time struck 9:30 pm, and I knew it was time to put up a fake performance for the crowd at the event.
I stood in front of the mirror, knotted my blue bow tie while adjusting my black jacket with my other hand adjusting my black leather belt.
“I hope this girl is ready because if she isn't, she’ll see another side of me, I swear,” I muttered, storming toward her room.
As I neared her door again, the sound of music slipped through. And her voice — soft, almost haunting — stopped me cold.
I peeked in.
She stood there, brushing her hair back, in a long black maxi gown. A goddess. Dangerous.
My heart skipped. What the hell was that?
“Gosh, Brinda is beautiful, no doubt — but I won't let myself fall for this illusion.” As I made my way downstairs for dinner.
“Good evening, Mr. Jason I prepared your favorite meal, chicken sauce with a side of rice and beef salad to complement the meal,” Mrs Agatha said calmly.
“Thank you, Agatha. I sincerely appreciate all you do,” I said, taking a spoonful. Today was perfect for a meal like this — it brightened my mood.”
“Agatha, call Miss Brinda down this instant. Tell her she has ten seconds — if not, she'll regret it!” I snapped as she dismissed herself.
It didn't take long, and I saw Brinda entering the kitchen wearing a black maxi gown with light makeup and her hair rolled in bun, which was stunning.
Every step she took into the kitchen amazed my eyes, which urged me to compliment her, but I held it within.
“Why the hell do I care how she looks? She's a problem, not a prize. Still… damn.”
“Finally. This is Mrs. Agatha, the housekeeper. If I'm not around, dump your issues on her.” I said sarcastically.
“Mrs. Agatha, meet Brinda — our special guest,” I said, raising the cup of tea in my right hand.
The look she gave me instantly after calling her special was marvelous, but yet I don't know why a part of me still felt it was wrong.
I saw her exchanging pleasantries with Mrs Agatha, who was so homely and unlike the girl I was expecting, but I remained silent.
“Sir, the driver is here,” Mrs Agatha said calmly, and I knew that was my cue to act my part.

Welcome to LA VA business convention, where every prestigious family graces to show off their wealth and attract more wealth.
This was a yearly function, and I knew all eyes would be on me once the lay eyes on her, which I have to caution her before entering the main hall.
“Brinda, just smile and act like we're madly in love. Let me do all the talking — got it?” with a quick tone, but all I got back was a displeased look.
She looked like sin dressed in silk, and that alone could undo me. But I pushed the thought away, focusing on the guests.
As I immediately saw Mr Felix and his colleagues, I knew that it was my cue to make a good impression “Don't leave this spot. I’ll come get you.” My tone was sharp, not up for debate.
She acted indifferent, but I told myself it wasn't my problem.
“Hey!!! Mr Felix, you look so good, and trust me, you always look younger every day,” I said in a respectful manner, and Mr. Felix burst into a hearty laugh.
We all engaged in conversations with some colleagues when I noticed a disturbing stare glaring at me from a corner, which got me feeling uncomfortable when I noticed it was Mrs Cash.
“What the hell is this witch doing at this event, which I know it could only be trouble,” My hands kept fidgeting.
“I’m so sorry, Mr Felix, but I have to excuse myself but would be back soon,” which he gave me a worried look, but I smiled to assure him that everything is under control.
I immediately walked to Brinda to get some answers, only to be nowhere close to the spot I instructed her to stay. “This girl is really getting on my nerves, “Argh,” I muttered, still holding myself together.
I was about to take a step, roaming through the hall for Brinda, when Mr Felix called me to the stage to make a speech.
My hands trembled — something felt off. Still, I forced a smile.
“Good evening everyone, and welcome to the annual LA VA business convention. My name is Jason Adams, and I'm so pleased to see you all gracing this wonderful event hosted by our very own Mr Felix the owner of the Flip oil and gas,” and the crowd erupted into applause at the mention of Mr. Felix.
Before I could continue, the speaker screeched with feedback — then came moans. Loud. Filthy. Raw. My voice, hers— on repeat.
Gasps. Murmurs. Laughter.
I stood frozen.
“Turn it off! Shut it down now!” I barked, but the damage was done.
Everyone looked at me with so much disgust when the audio got louder of me having sex with a woman with different angles of moaning pouring out.
People began murmuring to each other about how I was such a big disgrace, while others used their phones to record the horrific night that shattered me.
The media personals couldn't disconnect it, which made me dash out of the stage, running through the hall like a defeated man.
“How dare she do this to me, especially at an event like this ran a hand through my hair in frustration?
“How would I explain to Mr Felix about this disgraceful act, and I have toiled day and night waiting for this moment now ruined?”
I reached into my pocket for my phone, scrolling through, hoping to end this once and for all.
I never meant for it to reach this stage, but she has left me no choice my mind kept venting when the caller picked the call.
“She humiliated me. She tore my reputation apart. I built my empire brick by brick — so yes, end her. No traces.” Which I cut the line immediately to avoid suspicious eyes.
You played dirty.
Now I’ll play darker.
Thank you all for engaging In my book📖😩😘
Brinda's P.O.V The taxi slowed to a stop in front of a dimly lit building.I lifted my head slowly and looked through the window.A cheap motel. The sign flickered weakly, half the letters barely working. For a moment… I just stared at it.This was it.“Ma’am,” the driver said gently.I blinked and turned to him.“We’re here.”“Oh…” I swallowed. “Thank you.”He hesitated, his eyes studying me through the mirror.“You sure you’re alright?”“The question caught me off guard and for a second, I almost laughed.”“Alright?” I muttered.“I had just run away from my life, nearly got killed, gave birth, left the man I loved and landed in a strange city with a new born baby and no plan.”But instead, I forced a small nod.“I’m fine.”The lie came out too quickly.Too easily. He didn’t look convinced.“You don’t look fine,” I repeated, a little firmer this time.Silence filled the car. After a moment, he sighed softly and stepped out to get my bag.I hated that.I hated that strangers could se
Jason P.O.V My phone vibrated violently, the screen lighting up with a number I didn’t recognize. But I didn’t think twice.“Hello?” I rasped, my voice hoarse. On the other end, there was only heavy, broken breathing, frantic and shallow. My stomach twisted. My chest felt like it had been ripped open. That breathing… it sounded like hers. Brinda’s.“Brinda?” I shouted, my voice cracking. “Brinda! Answer me!”Nothing but the same ragged inhale. Panic surged. I couldn’t wait. I didn’t even ask questions. I traced the call immediately. The location pinged, just a few streets away.I bolted out the door and my hand gripping the wheel like my life depended on it. It did. My mind raced. “She can't be gone. She can't… I can't lose her. Not now. Not ever.”Every red light I passed felt like torture. My eyes darted everywhere, scanning the streets. Every corner I turned, every shadow… my chest tightened. “Is she there? Is someone hurting her? Finally, I skidded into the location. My heart st
Brinda's P.O.V “Sofie, are we done packing?!” I shouted, my voice bouncing off the walls, half excited, half in disbelief. From the bathroom, Sofie yelled back, “Yes, girl! Finally! All the clothes, baby stuff, your documents—everything! Even that ridiculous pile of shoes you insisted on bringing!”I let out a breathy laugh while brushing my teeth. “That wasn’t ridiculous. That was emotional support footwear.” I said. She stepped in, hands on her waist, shaking her head dramatically. “You and your excuses. Brinda, I swear, one day I’ll write a book about you.” while I smiled softly. If only she knew how close to breaking I was inside.Sofie dropped beside me, nudging my shoulder. “But seriously… we did it. You’re really about to start over.”I swallowed.Start over. Those words hit deeper than she knew.I placed my hand over my belly, rubbing slow circles. “Yeah… start over.”She stood up suddenly like she remembered something. “Oh! I almost forgot. I’m heading to the mall to grab
Jason P.O.V I checked the wall clock for the fifth time in ten minutes.7:48 p.m.I exhaled slowly.“She should have been home by now…”Mrs. Abigail was arranging the plates on the dining table, moving back and forth like everything was normal. The food was already plated. The candles were lit. Even the stupid soft music was playing in the background.Everything was ready.Except Brinda.I pulled out my phone again and stared at her contact.Still no missed calls.Still no message.I typed.“Where are you.”Sent.I waited.Nothing.I locked my phone and leaned back on the couch, rubbing my palms together. I didn’t know why my chest felt tight. I tried to tell myself she was probably stuck in traffic. Or maybe she stopped somewhere. But something didn’t feel right.Mrs. Abigail turned to look at me.“Sir… should I keep the food warm?”“Yes,” I replied quickly. “She’ll be here soon.”I wasn’t sure who I was reassuring — her or myself.Mrs. Abigail nodded and walked back into the kitche
Brinda's P.O.V The car was too quiet. Not the peaceful kind. The dangerous kind.Nathan’s hands were steady on the steering wheel, eyes fixed on the road like nothing in this world could distract him. Meanwhile, my heart was beating like it wanted to jump out of my chest and run before me.“Think, Brinda. Think fast before things get worse.” I wandered. Every second that passed felt like borrowed time.I folded my hands on my lap, fingers trembling despite my effort to stay calm. My phone was buried inside my bag, screen off, silent—but I could almost feel it burning against my skin.“You’ve been quiet,” Nathan said while clearing his throat. I forced a small laugh. “Should I be talking?”He glanced at me briefly, then back to the road. “You always talk to me Brinda. What's change.” He added. “Nothing has changed Nathan, all I just need is my space beside I love my new quiet Era.”I said. “Is there something you want to talk about.” Nathan asked. My chest tightened.“That was adr
Jason P.O.V I had never felt happiness like this. Not in years. My chest felt tight, my face hurt from smiling too much, and yet… I couldn’t stop. Brinda was coming home. She was really coming back. Alive. Safe. My world suddenly had color again.I paced around the living room like a man who had been holding his breath for a decade. My phone was still in my hand, but I didn’t care about calls or messages. Nothing mattered except the thought of her walking through that door.“Mrs. Abigail!” I called, my voice louder than I intended. She appeared, hands still dusted with flour, eyes wide. “Yes, sir?”“She’s coming back,” I said quickly, almost too loudly. “Brinda… she’s coming home.”Her lips parted, and for a moment I thought she would faint from relief. “Oh, Lord… she’s finally coming back to us?”“Yes!” I said, grinning like a kid who just stole candy. “Alive. Safe. And she’s coming home. Can you believe it?”Mrs. Abigail’s eyes glimmered with something I couldn’t read. Joy? Relief?
Jason P.O.V “Arhhg. I should have known.” I screamed while pacing up and down. “I knew that she lived such a life before but I thought that she has finally changed.” I said while pacing up and down. “It is so painful that I felt that things could change between us but I should have known that sh
Jason P.O.VI stepped into Nathan's ward only to find Brinda with a strange woman, which surprised me. She was her friend, and they were talking. I tried to find the right words, but my phone rang, so I excused myself.I stepped out to a corner in the hallway waiting for a positive response. “Bos
Jason P.O.VTears streamed down my eyes at the thought of losing my brother.I kept pacing thinking about how my life could be broken.“I know that we both have so many misunderstandings, baby brother, but please don't leave me in this cruel world.” I kept on dwelling while going back and forth hop
Brinda's P.O.V “Bri, what am I supposed to be seeing here?” she asked, looking through the window. “You didn't see any man.” I asked. “Which man, Bri?” Sofie replied. “There must be something fishy that's going on here because I could have sworn that I saw a man staring at Nathan's window.” I t
