Brinda's P.O.V

I kept looking at the ceiling, wondering what connection Jason had with Miss Cash, but my head kept going blank, which only got me more frustrated than ever.

“God, I hate my life right now.” My mind kept thinking of the worst, as always, but I knew that I needed a distraction to redeem my brain back to normal state.

I stretched my hand under the pillow and checked the time — 7:11 p.m and I felt like time wasn't on my side today.

“Brinda, love, you've got to get a hold of yourself baby, you got this.” My brain kept saying in a tiny, faint voice, but I knew I still needed something to relax my system.

I crept out towards the door hoping that I won't get a sight of Jason because I know it would never end well.

“Ouch” my foot hit the wall forcefully, creating excruciating pain. “Can today get any worse?”

I slowly found my way down to the kitchen, hoping to get some alcohol to calm my nerves. I looked around at how expensive his kitchen gleamed and wondered if he did anything here. “Gosh, his kitchen is so beautiful, it's just a pity… too bad the owner isn't pretty on the inside.” While ransacking the wine cabinet.

“Finally — my favorite. Merlot. It's been long. I remember how I fell in love with you, and it's so good to see you again.” which my lips got talking to the non object but it gave me peace.

I poured a glass, desperate for that first calming sip, only to behold a dark shadow from the corner staring at me, which almost gave me a heart attack. “H-hey, who's there, show yourself and face me like a damn adult,” with my hands still shaking while holding the wine in one hand.

I kept bracing myself for anything to happen, and I wasn't going down without a fight. “Do you know how to fight, girl?” my mind kept floating on which was the worst time.

As the figure kept moving towards me, stepping into the light area in the kitchen — I embrace myself for a battle.

His steps were quiet, deliberate. Like a predator stalking prey. I should've run — but my legs, my heart, refused to move.

As my hands got ready to strike, I was astonished at the broad–built figure in front of me with his biceps calling my name. “It's insane how I still crave him… despite the emotional chaos he brings.”

“What are you doing here?” He said while staring at me with his ocean eyes locked on my body, lingering shamelessly on my radiated lingerie while his hand slid down my shoulder.

He kept on staring at me with so much lust that for a second I felt I saw hunger written in his eyes for me.

“Well, if you must know, I came to drink and I don't know how it's any of your business,” pouring the wine into the glass cup.

“Drinking now, huh? Pathetic. Just like the choices you make.” with his hands inside his pocket like he owns the world.

“Your cruel words don't faze me anymore, Jason. Besides, if you want a drink all you could have done was ask instead of playing Mr you know it all,” while sipping the wine slowly to irritate him even more.

“So my words don't have any effect on you. Amazing which I need to know more,” while he kept coming closer to me.

I could feel the tension arising between us, but I refuse to give into his demand, “If he's playing with fire, I'll be the wildfire.”

As I kept on sipping the wine, my mind lost track of his movements, only to see him standing an inch away from me, which made my heart skip.

“Why does it seem you are ignoring my look?” He said, swiftly raising my chin in his direction, which made my pussy drip.

“Why the hell are you showing him you want this? Get a grip, Brinda.” but I knew deep down that I wanted him to rip off my dress.

He kept looking into my eyes like I was his, and the whole world fell still when his scent invade my senses, making my body betray every restrained emotion.

I wanted to fight him, but a powerful force kept me standing still, waiting for his next line of action, which was getting me restless.

He looked at me, only licking his bottom lips while whispering in my ears, “If you weren't a whore, I would have eaten you up, but you are just like every public girl I met.”

His words broke my heart into pieces, and I immediately slapped his hands off my chin while taking the last sip of wine to soothe my restless night.

“I hate you so much, Jason, and I can't wait to get you out of my life for good,” while storming my way up to my room not caring what he had to say.

Trust me, Jason. I’ll find out who you really are — and once I do? It ends with my winning, Jason. You'll see.

Jason P.O.V My phone vibrated violently, the screen lighting up with a number I didn’t recognize. But I didn’t think twice.“Hello?” I rasped, my voice hoarse. On the other end, there was only heavy, broken breathing, frantic and shallow. My stomach twisted. My chest felt like it had been ripped open. That breathing… it sounded like hers. Brinda’s.“Brinda?” I shouted, my voice cracking. “Brinda! Answer me!”Nothing but the same ragged inhale. Panic surged. I couldn’t wait. I didn’t even ask questions. I traced the call immediately. The location pinged, just a few streets away.I bolted out the door and my hand gripping the wheel like my life depended on it. It did. My mind raced. “She can't be gone. She can't… I can't lose her. Not now. Not ever.”Every red light I passed felt like torture. My eyes darted everywhere, scanning the streets. Every corner I turned, every shadow… my chest tightened. “Is she there? Is someone hurting her? Finally, I skidded into the location. My heart st

Brinda's P.O.V “Sofie, are we done packing?!” I shouted, my voice bouncing off the walls, half excited, half in disbelief. From the bathroom, Sofie yelled back, “Yes, girl! Finally! All the clothes, baby stuff, your documents—everything! Even that ridiculous pile of shoes you insisted on bringing!”I let out a breathy laugh while brushing my teeth. “That wasn’t ridiculous. That was emotional support footwear.” I said. She stepped in, hands on her waist, shaking her head dramatically. “You and your excuses. Brinda, I swear, one day I’ll write a book about you.” while I smiled softly. If only she knew how close to breaking I was inside.Sofie dropped beside me, nudging my shoulder. “But seriously… we did it. You’re really about to start over.”I swallowed.Start over. Those words hit deeper than she knew.I placed my hand over my belly, rubbing slow circles. “Yeah… start over.”She stood up suddenly like she remembered something. “Oh! I almost forgot. I’m heading to the mall to grab

  • His Favorite Sin   What have I become

Jason P.O.V I checked the wall clock for the fifth time in ten minutes.7:48 p.m.I exhaled slowly.“She should have been home by now…”Mrs. Abigail was arranging the plates on the dining table, moving back and forth like everything was normal. The food was already plated. The candles were lit. Even the stupid soft music was playing in the background.Everything was ready.Except Brinda.I pulled out my phone again and stared at her contact.Still no missed calls.Still no message.I typed.“Where are you.”Sent.I waited.Nothing.I locked my phone and leaned back on the couch, rubbing my palms together. I didn’t know why my chest felt tight. I tried to tell myself she was probably stuck in traffic. Or maybe she stopped somewhere. But something didn’t feel right.Mrs. Abigail turned to look at me.“Sir… should I keep the food warm?”“Yes,” I replied quickly. “She’ll be here soon.”I wasn’t sure who I was reassuring — her or myself.Mrs. Abigail nodded and walked back into the kitche

  • His Favorite Sin   Quite Era

Brinda's P.O.V The car was too quiet. Not the peaceful kind. The dangerous kind.Nathan’s hands were steady on the steering wheel, eyes fixed on the road like nothing in this world could distract him. Meanwhile, my heart was beating like it wanted to jump out of my chest and run before me.“Think, Brinda. Think fast before things get worse.” I wandered. Every second that passed felt like borrowed time.I folded my hands on my lap, fingers trembling despite my effort to stay calm. My phone was buried inside my bag, screen off, silent—but I could almost feel it burning against my skin.“You’ve been quiet,” Nathan said while clearing his throat. I forced a small laugh. “Should I be talking?”He glanced at me briefly, then back to the road. “You always talk to me Brinda. What's change.” He added. “Nothing has changed Nathan, all I just need is my space beside I love my new quiet Era.”I said. “Is there something you want to talk about.” Nathan asked. My chest tightened.“That was adr

  • His Favorite Sin   Just for you

Jason P.O.V I had never felt happiness like this. Not in years. My chest felt tight, my face hurt from smiling too much, and yet… I couldn’t stop. Brinda was coming home. She was really coming back. Alive. Safe. My world suddenly had color again.I paced around the living room like a man who had been holding his breath for a decade. My phone was still in my hand, but I didn’t care about calls or messages. Nothing mattered except the thought of her walking through that door.“Mrs. Abigail!” I called, my voice louder than I intended. She appeared, hands still dusted with flour, eyes wide. “Yes, sir?”“She’s coming back,” I said quickly, almost too loudly. “Brinda… she’s coming home.”Her lips parted, and for a moment I thought she would faint from relief. “Oh, Lord… she’s finally coming back to us?”“Yes!” I said, grinning like a kid who just stole candy. “Alive. Safe. And she’s coming home. Can you believe it?”Mrs. Abigail’s eyes glimmered with something I couldn’t read. Joy? Relief?

  • His Favorite Sin   Visa approved

Brinda's P.O.VThe hall smelled of disinfectant and impatience.I stared as people sat in rows, some whispering, some scrolling endlessly on their phones, others staring straight ahead like they were afraid to blink and miss their names being called. My palms were damp, my fingers curled tightly around my documents like someone might snatch my future away if I loosened my grip. This was it.No turning back. When my name was called, my heart jumped violently against my chest. I stood up slowly, my legs feeling strangely light and heavy at the same time, and followed the officer behind the glass door.Biometrics.Fingerprints.Photograph.Short instructions delivered with no emotion.I did everything they asked, nodding, responding when necessary, my mind barely catching up with my body. I kept telling myself to breathe. Just breathe. One step at a time. When it was over, I was asked to sit again.Minutes felt like hours. Then my name was called… again. This time, the officer slid a pa
