Isabella Green grunted, feeling anxious. She cursed the traffic a million times, for getting clumped up on a day like this. She glanced at her wristwatch and sighed restlessly.
She's going to be late on her first day as an intern Nurse. Eventually, the taxi pulled up in front of the city hospital and she pulled out a rumpled dollar note and gave it to the driver and hurriedly dashed into the hospital. She was late already and this was supposed to be her first day as an intern student. She walked briskly into the reception and presented her letter for resumption. “The conference hall, take the turn by the left and use the elevator,” the receptionist directed. Isabella nodded and thanked the receptionist before storming off. As she arrived at the top of the elevator, she heard her name “Isabella Green” she swallowed a lump in her throat as she quickly answered “Right here sir” She was breathing hard and fast. She didn't expect that she would arrive at the nick of time, she raised her head to glance in the direction her name was mentioned and their eyes locked: Isabella's facial expression immediately turned pale. She shivered and her fingers trembled. For some seconds, she lost her composure as she glared at him, dazed. Him? What is he doing in a hospital coat? Is he a doctor? “First day at work and you're already late?” He asked, sneer and resentment laced his words. What is she doing in his hospital? He didn't know her name otherwise, he would never have approved her application for internship in his hospital. “I…I…I'm sorry sir” Isabella stuttered. She couldn't compose herself. Her palms became sweaty and she stared at the floor, completely flushed. “This is going to be the first and obviously the last time, you will be pardoned for late coming" he declared and turned to whisper a few things into the ears of his subordinate before walking away. As soon as he left, the matron turned to Isabella “My name is Adele Dai and I am the head of the Nurses department in this hospital and I specifically welcome you to City Hospital” she smiled and shook hands with her. The other employees did the same and introduced themselves. This woman Isabella Green must have carried a favour on her personality to have been pardoned by Dr. Rian. He doesn't accept lateness not in the slightest form, such an employee is immediately fired. To have pardoned this intern student meant, he woke up on the other side of his bed. Isabella appreciated everyone and said she looked forward to having a great time working with all of them. As soon as she was shown her cubicle in the nurses station, Isabella sighed for relief. She felt she had developed a migraine already. But how is he a doctor too? Dr. Rian stride into his executive lounge when Dr. Rodrigo stepped in after him. He watched as Rian pulled off his hospital coat, and sighed softly, massaging the bridge between his eyes. Despite turning his back to him, Rodrigo knew something was up. What's there about the intern Nurse? He saw everything and if nobody else knows, Rian knows he has eyes for details and he can tell something is off by a single glance. “Is there something I need to know?” Rodrigo asked, walking over to the refrigerator and pulled out a canned fruit juice. He smirks, feeling some hesitation in his friend. “Know? Like what?” Rian Whiteson shrugged, trying to act calm and composed. He didn't sell out anything about his encounter with that intern Nurse, right? Rodrigo turned abruptly and faced him “Don't act dump with me Rian. I meant, you should tell me about that intern Nurse” He bluntly declared. “There's nothing to say except that we have another intern Nurse in this hospital that goes by the name Isabella Green “ Rian snapped at him and frowned. He wish there was no past or history between them. “You've never been a good liar, Rian. Why do you feel you can become one now? What's up between you and that intern Nurse that made her obtain your generous pardon on the first day at work? Why the exception? Why didn't you send her back immediately? You've always been strict and arrogant, why do I feel when you saw her, there was a moment of hesitation in your eyes, tell me Rian?” Rodrigo demanded, fixing his gaze on him. “She’s the woman!” Rian informed and gnashed his teeth. There are some actions that one gets involved in and later regrets everything. That's exactly how he was feeling at the moment. “The woman…” Rodrigo trailed off, did a mental calculation and continued “your one night stand?” He asked and Rian nodded. A smile spread across Rodrigo's face. “Do you feel uncomfortable with her working with you?” He asked, a Megawatt smile on his face. He loves the looks on his friend's face. “Working with me is nothing compared to the level of resentment I felt towards that woman. Don't you understand what I am saying, she's a prostitute, a whore. How can I keep such a woman working in my hospital” “Common off it, dude. At that moment when you were drugged and your dick was hard and erect, fully controlling your mind and desire, you didn't realise the woman you were going to drive that dick into was a prostitute, did you?” Rodrigo reprimanded him. “I already told you, that was a mistake. I needed a cunt to relieve myself and I got one. I paid her handsomely than what she can earn in an entire year, but getting fucked by everything in trousers…is a filthy, dude. It's never going to happen again but her presence resents me greatly” Rian spat out in disgust. He was drunk, but more like he was drugged, otherwise he would have gone for a more decent woman in times of need and not a public hole. “No matter what has happened, respect her professionally and don't let the past affect your working with her” Rodrigo advised and stepped out. As he stepped out, he walked towards the nurses station, Mrs Adele Dai was busy sorting out the surgical materials for sterilisation when Dr. Rodrigo walked in. “Dr Rodrigo…” Mrs Adele said trailing off. “Mrs Adele, I want the intern student to be working with Dr. Rian and myself for now” he instructed with a smile. He needed to study this woman that Rian has developed so much resentment for. She'd already been assigned to Dr. Rian for this week. From next week, she'll be working with you directly” Matron Adele explained. Rodrigo nodded, and left. As soon as he left, Matron Adele sighed softly, what's there about this intern Nurse? Are the doctors already crushing on her?“How can you claim to be the father of my kids when you bluntly denied them in their embryonic stage? When you called me a whore who doesn't know that I should use a protection when being fucked by my clients? Or have you gotten that you insulted me by saying I opened my cunt for every man and because of the high bidding I didn't protect myself, advising me to go find the man who planted his seed into me, have you forgotten? How can you come today and say to my face that you are the father of my kids? Have you no shame? What kind of scoundrel have you become? Besides, didn't you remind me that you used a condom that night when you forced your way into me? Do you want me to keep recounting all the things you said and did to me? From bribing Paul to get me drugged and raping me in my vulnerable state? Do you?” Isabella demanded, her voice filled with pain and resentment. “No please, no, don't talk about it anymore…” Rian pleaded. Why was it affecting him this way? W
How much she desperately wants that beautiful woman to resume with her son and more than that, a chemistry should spark between them. They already have kids together, they don't need to worry about making more babies if they want. “Yes, she did and even signed a contract to work with us for two years and that is renewable when due…” Rian gave a full detailed explanation. The only people he could conveniently talk about Isabella with. “That's beautiful honey. Have you had a talk with her, apologised to her and asked her to forgive you?” Alessia asked further and her son's question made her brow furrowed. “No I haven't. She's been avoiding me?” Rian responded. But he will tread gently with her. He will be gentle with her until she grants him an audience. “You should keep trying, son. It might not be as easy as we expected it to be, but trust me, it will work out well…” Alessia advised. Oh heavens, how she wishes things fall into place for the both of them. He
“I think you should sit down first,Rian,” Aiden casually advised. He sat comfortably back in his seat and fixed his gaze on him. He wants him to know that despite feeling sorry for his predicament, his sister's wellbeing is important to him. Rian sat down and he glared at his friend. This isn't who they are to each other. They've been friends for decades and now, because of what happened between his sister and himself, his attitude just changed? “What would you like to take?” Aiden asked, reaching out to take his glass of Whiskey. Even if they have something so important to talk about, he is sure he still needs to have something in his belly. “No thanks, you have invited me, can we go straight to it?” Rian asked, his countenance firm and cold. Aiden had embarrassed him a while ago. He cannot sit back and order a meal or drink. Aiden chuckled softly and asked “Are you upset or feel uncomfortable being with me?” A smirk spread across his face. He is unhappy with him
He glanced at Rodrigo and he had his gaze on him as well. They didn't exchange words but eyes locking with each other had sent a message. Rian was the first to leave. As he passed, he saw Isabella talking excitedly with Dr Ben and a swarm of jealousy Sting's his heart. He simply walked away to his office and sighed helplessly. He stood by the window and glanced at the busy road. People going and coming. No one cares about the other's business nor where he was heading to. Some in a hurry, some walking carefully, but everyone moving in their various directions. His heart was in turmoil too. Others are happy and cheerful but he isn't. He's got mixed feelings but more than that, he was sincere when he said he was happy to see her. He knew she would be coming to see him soon. Rodrigo walked in and saw Rian standing by the window of his office, looking outside. He obviously was not looking his best and he seemed to ignore him. He sighed softly and glanced at Isabella who
Since Isabella knows nothing, Charles didn't think it was important to disturb her quiet moment alone. The chauffeur soon drove into the parking lot of the X-city hospital. As if she knew where the chauffeur got to, Isabella opened her eyes at the once familiar environment. She smiled, five years had passed and a lot has changed indeed. There new structures were erected. The parking lot had been increased and the place was filled with patients. She alighted, dressed beautiful and gorgeous, her hair straightened and styled. “You can call me if anything goes wrong, I'm off base today” Charles instructed. He knows nothing is going to happen. Isabella is a Graham and Graham's are not afraid of anyone or afraid to confront any challenge ahead of them. Besides, she's the mother of Rian's kids. She has an edge over others. No one messes with the Graham's and gets away with it. “I'll be fine” Isabella assured as she walked into the large exquisite space used for the re
Everlyn waited for her daughter to come downstairs until Aiden did. She saw him dressed, ready to take the kids to kindergarten along with the chauffeur. She was going to apologise to her daughter for enforcing her idea on her. “Where is your sister, Aiden?” Dustan asked his eldest son. He doesn't look surprised at all. But he saw through his wife and knew she was kind of worried and a feeling of uneasiness was clouding her conscience. “She's stepped out with Charles to see her foster parents at their tomb” Aiden responded, placing his glass of coffee on the table and straightening his necktie. “She should have told us,” Everlyn complained. Her daughter's well-being is paramount to her. How can she just step out without saying a word to her? “I expected her to have told you and dad. But then, you don't have to worry about it. She's fine and Charles is with her” Aiden coaxed and kissed his mum on her chin before saying goodbye to his parents. He held hands wi
For a long time, Rian didn't say anything. He just glared at his friend. Mangal latex condom was his best choice always and it has never failed him in the past. His hand on the glass of wine, tightened against the glass firmly. “We've been friends for years,Rian and I know little things about
She sighed softly. She knew something might be rolling up the old man's sleeve. Otherwise, how can he willingly agree to help her Papa without a string attached. “He said he wants to marry a young, beautiful virgin in exchange. He would make her happy and give his entire property to her…”Jane
On the drive back to the hospital, Rodrigo's mind was on what Isabella told him last. She's Aiden's Graham's sister, the only sister amongst the three brothers. How unpredictable. Aiden and Rian are best friends, if he heard correctly, from childhood. He's sure he hadn't known who Aiden'
“Dr Rodrigo?” she blurted, her hands still holding to her kids and she felt like walking over to him and giving him a hug. He is a great guy. He was nothing like that friend of his. He treated her with respect for the few weeks she worked with him. “Mummy, is he our daddy?” Eliora asked, she
