CHAPTER 16

“THE DEAL”

LUCCA’S POV:

I could feel my heart fluttering in my chest as I raced back to the Hotel, Enzo was on a mission to reach our mate before anything could happen to her. This would be the last time I ever left her alone, ever, without being protected. I was furious with myself; how could I be so daft! Enzo raced through the forest as our mate’s life was dependent on it, however I had no idea if Bridgette needed us or not being we had still not established a mind link. I felt myself beginning to panic as the urgency to reach out to our mate began to rise, however I could feel myself begin to calm. I could sense Bridgette struggling to cease my panic. Although it was futile on her part, as my speed didn’t diminish, nor did the urgency to reach her.

As I arrived within the city limits, I was careful not to be seen. A large black wolf would certainly panic the local population. I heard a giggle in my head, which forced me to pause as I reached the
