Chapter 19

My nerves were on edge. I would finally be free and let go after today. I hope King Ezra really shows up tomorrow and lets me out of here. We all woke up earlier than usual for some final preparation and touch-up. The castle was very busy this morning with slaves moving up and down hurriedly. The male slaves were loading some chopped wood into the wagon and moving them to the fields.

We gathered more fruits from the royal garden and carried them into the kitchen where Nabir was instructing some girls on how to arrange them. More fruits were purchased from the markets too. I haven’t seen Grey today and I know he must be busy working in the fields. I finished up going in for breakfast with Sheila. None of the male slaves were in the hall. It was just some of the girls that finished early. I sat down in our usual spot with Sheila beside me.

“Are you okay? You’ve been quiet since morning” Sheila asked, digging into her food.

“I’m okay. Kind of, I’m just a little bit nervous and worried”

I wonder is it Sheila or Petra? I can't wait I hope Sheila doesn't hold it against her for not saying anything. I don't dive a damn about Petra ahe can eat lemons.
