Chapter 34

I stood still, staring at him like he had grown another pair of limbs. He was in love with me? I knew I needed to say something but my brain had gone blank. He blushed brightly, waiting for me to say something. I opened my mouth but he cut me off.

“You know what? Please forget that I ever said that” He said before storming off.

“No wait. Grey” I called after him but he didn’t stop.

I would never have guessed this was it all along. I thought Sheila was only teasing me when she told me about it. Grey was one of my favorite people and I like him a lot but I don’t think I feel the same way about him. I wanted to tell him this but he didn’t give me a chance to do so. Didn’t stay long enough to hear me.

I returned to the castle, a little mazed from what Grey had dumped on me. He didn’t show up for dinner and did his best to avoid me the next few days. I told Sheila what had happened and she wasn’t surprised. She advised I let him be, he’ll come around soon.
