Alpha Keanu’s POV Noir sat sprawled out in my office. More letters seem to have occupied my desk since the last time I was here. We were out all night and the day before looking for more hideouts of the rogues. We traced some of their scent to Ezra’s village which was still not attacked. Villages farther from the woods are being attacked but his was still bustling. It’s clear as day that Ezra has a hand in this but I can’t do anything without evidence. And if the human king was involved then there must be another high-ranked wolf, there was no way rogues would take orders from a human. I looked at Noir who was about to doze off on the couch. “You should get some rest before the celebration”“Don’t you think it’s time yet?” He yawned, stretching his body. I cocked my brow at him in question.“Time to visit the witch. Slowly, I opened my eyes, squinting instantly at how bright the room was. I blinked a few times before my eyes adjusted. It took me a while to recognize that I was at the infirmary. I tried to recall what led to me being here but my memory was blank. My body felt too heavy to move like a dead weight was placed on me. My throat was patched and itchy. With a little strength I gathered, I tried to sit up but a sharp hot pain in my stomach stopped me. Hissing, I lay back down. What happened to me? I peered down to see a white cloth wrapped around my stomach with blood stains on it. What is this? How did I get this? I twisted my head enough to the side to look around the room. Alpha Keanu’s POVFor the past three days I’ve been by her side, and not once did I step out for any reason. Neither have I slept a wink. Lore was almost running mad. Aztec managed to force me out of the infirmary today, promising to watch over her while I take my bath. Took me a lot to leave her side. I can’t believe how I feel right now. Alpha Keanu’s POVJade was still asleep when I woke up. My eyes were glued to her throughout the night. I had moved her to the bed and draped a blanket over her as soon as she fell asleep and I slept on the couch. She was such a stubborn little human. Watching her sleep peacefully stirred different emotions in me and it wasn’t helping that Lore wanted to touch and hold her all night. It took all my strength to restrain him. I need a long ass run to clear my head of her scent that has been clouding my head since I walked into this room. It was still very early as I stepped out and walked down to the woods outside the castle. Changing to my wolf, I sprint out on a run. We ran for hours and Lore was yet to tire out. I stood outside the door of the new room wondering if the Alpha would let Sheila come see me here sometimes. I watched as some girls finished up with their cleaning and changed the sheets. I honestly felt bad watching them do it and judging from the huge scowls on their face, they weren’t the happiest either. I would have chosen to clean it myself but just like yesterday, I woke up very late again. The softness of his bed elongated my stay in dreamland and by the time I woke up and walked in here, the girls were rounding up.I returned to the Alpha’s room to eat and then shower because I didn’t have any supplies I would use in the new room. He sat and ate with me only taking a small amount of food. He finished up fast and before he could leave the room I stopped him.“Can my friend, Sheila come up here sometimes?” That room was very big, maybe not at big as his but still it was too big and lonely. I was already used to spending my day and night with Sheila. “This wing is off limits”

“Excuse me?” I almost yelled.“What do you mean she would be staying in my room?”“Can you please give us some minutes?” He turned to her.“Sure, I’ll step out” She stood flashing me a wicked smile as she walked past me. “That room was a guest room used to welcome special visitors” He continued after she closed the door.Oh, so she is special. This is ridiculous. Is he chasing me out for her to stay in the room or is he expecting me to share the room with her?“And where do you expect me to stay? For this special visitor of yours to take the room”“My room. Where you were supposed to stay” He deadpanned.“You know what? He hastily walked into his closet, appearing seconds later with a shirt on and unbuttoned.“Who did that to you?” I was still in shock. His eyes darted back and forth between mine, taking in the horror on my face.“It’s none of your business,” he said before walking out of the room. I stared after the locked door. What kind of monster did that to him? The scars were fully healed but his back has been destroyed. I waited for him to return but he didn’t and so I went back to sleep. Waking up next, I noticed he wasn’t still back yet. I walked out of the room, wondering where he slept. I didn’t have to wonder for too long because I met him downstairs heading outside the castle with Amice beside him. Did he sleep in her room? I was confused about how they were together this early. Upon getting closer to them, I heard Amice ask.“Can I see the greenhouse? Do you still have it around here?” Her voice was soft like she couldn’t hurt a fly, but I know better than that.“Yeah, I’ll show you,”
