Chapter No 4

“Everything is done?” asked Aunt Eliza. She nodded. They helped to get admission to one of the top colleges in the city. She never thought that she was going to study at such an expensive college. She was happy. Eliza had prepared everything from a new uniform to bags and books.

It was Sunday today, and Eliza was cleaning the house. There were a lot of servants in the house because money was no problem for Gardezis.

“Madam, Master’s room on the top was locked, and I was unable to go in,” said a servant. She was cleaning the couch by vacuuming the dust with the vacuum machine. She turned a bit to look at the servant.

“No, don’t touch his room, you know what tantrum he brings when someone touches his things,” said Eliza.

“But mam, you said the room needs cleaning,” he said.

“I know, I know, okay, you go and clean the kitchen, Saliha dear, will you go and check properly,” said Eliza. She was busy with the list of broken items.

She unlocked the room with the keys Eliza provided her and entered his room. She looked around the room in order to check if it needed something new.

His huge portrait was hanging on the wall above his bed staring back at him. His round small lips were closed, and his blue eyes were looking at her from the corner of his eye socket. His straight brown hair was falling on his forehead and partially on his eyes. He did not change all these years, but, indeed, he became more muscular.

His room was well decorated with a beautiful waterfall of wallpaper around the wall. She was looking around in amazement and astonishment when she felt something cold and shivering at her back. Her sixth sense was alarming her. She turned instantly. He was standing there in front of her. His cold eyes were directly staring into her hazel eyes, giving her chills down her spine.

“What are you doing here?” he asked. She gulped. He looked so eerie and scary at that moment. Her words were buried somewhere in her own head. Her lips moved.

“Have I not said that I need no servant in my room? Have you not got this?” he asked in a cold voice that could turn fire into ice.

She felt her legs were shivering as if she was feeling cold.

He walked closer, and she took a few steps back until her back touched the cold wall behind her. He held his forearm hard.

“I need an answer,” he said, angrily. His touch had burned her skin.

She was feeling instant pain because he was holding her too tight. “I, I was here to clean your room,” she said, afraid.

He looked at her with slight interest in his eyes, but he had perfect command of his expressions.

“Out,” he said in a whisper-like voice. He let go of her hand softly, but his expression was as cold as before.

She ran as fast as she could. He was staring at the empty door.

“Saliha dear, hurry up,” she screamed from behind. “I am coming, aunt,” she said from her room. She packed her bag and books and now was adjusting her uniform. After a while, she ran. An ant was serving breakfast to her husband and son. She looked at him from the corner of her eyes. He was not looking at him, but she could feel his gaze when she was not looking at him.

“Saliha, honey, finish your breakfast,” said her Aunt. She nodded. Uncle Imran was talking to someone on the phone. She was eating breakfast silently. But his presence was affecting her.

She tried to look at him, but she was afraid that if he was looking at her, she would get caught. She had finished eating breakfast and was now checking her bag.

“Okay Eliza, I am leaving. I will be home by 5 in the evening. Be ready, we have to visit Mr. Hamdani,” he said while getting up. She smiled and nodded.

She got up and walked towards the door. She could feel his eyes on her back, cold and furious.

“Saliha, where are you going?” asked the Aunt. “To college?” she said, awkwardly.

“No dear, you are not going alone. I mean you are new here, and I can’t risk it,” said Aunt.

She looked at her awkwardly.

“Roman, go and drop her,” she said to him, who was now staring at his phone.

“I have something very important to do,” he said without putting his gaze away from his phone. She felt her cheeks turn bright red.

“Roman,” his mother glared at him. He sat like that for a while, and then he took a deep breath and walked out, passing her. After a while, she heard the car’s horn.

“Go and I will ask him to pick you up, and I have to prepare a few things for the evening, best of luck,” she said, smiling.

She smiled forcefully and walked out.

She was gulping because she had to face him again. He was sitting in the car expressionlessly. She slowly walked toward the car and opened the door for the passenger seat. She was about to sit down when she heard his deep, arrogant voice.

“What am I? Your driver?” he asked while looking at her from the back of the mirror. His blue eyes were furious.

She looked at him confused.

“Come and sit ahead, I am not your bloody driver that you are sitting behind,” he growled. She gasped. She was always a sensitive girl, a slightly angry tone could lead her to tears. She closed the door and slowly walked ahead and sat down.

He started the car while clenching his teeth.

Her long curly hair was blowing due to the cold air as she took a shower this morning. It was uncontrollably silky. She was trying to handle them. He looked at her from the corner of his eyes. Her hair was falling on her face and she was trying to control it.

“You are going to college, not some fashion show. Could you not tie them up?” he said, angrily.

She had tied her hair but due to, air, it was getting untied. She held her hair in her hand so that it would stop blowing.

He was looking ahead while clenching his teeth. After a while, they reached college land. He parked the car.

She opened the door when he called her. “Listen,”

She stopped and turned. She was not looking at him but down at her feet.

“Look up,” he ordered. She did not dare.

“I said look up,” he said, angrily. She looked up instantly.

“Don’t you dare to tell anyone where you are living what your relationship is with m….us.” he said, avoiding the word ‘me’. His blue eyes were furious.

“Did you get what I said? If you don’t want to face my wrath, shut your mouth,” he said. She nodded and got out of the car.

He stared at her leaving and started the engine.

She felt her heart drop. He ruined her first day at college.
