Carlos

I huffed in annoyance, watching Mia fake a few drops of tears as the doctor informed us about my uncle’s condition. She was a good actress. She didn’t give two cents about her father. In the past; maybe, but now, it was merely a competition for the Hernandez wealth. I exhaled, lowering my head to the floor.

“Don’t worry, Carlos. He’ll be fine.” Marco reassured, patting my back. I laughed sarcastically, raising my head.

“Do I look worried?” I asked sarcastically, glancing at my uncle lying unconsciously on the bed, “He got what he deserved.” I muttered in despair, clenching my fist on the side.

“And what’s that supposed to mean?” Mia’s mother snapped, interjecting into the conversation. The doctor excused himself from the room, sensing the tension building up.

“You know what I mean, Margaret,” I responded with a forced smile. “Must be karma, huh?” I shrugged and she lunged forward for an attack as though she could hurt me with that fragile body. Mia pulled her back, shaking h

Ivan “Are you hungry?” Carlos asked with a smile, leaning on the doorframe. I shook my head, letting out a sharp breath as I held my father’s hand. I didn’t get why he wasn’t awake yet. It was already the fourth day and still nothing. I was getting worried. Worried he would stay in coma for long, but much more concerned about his reaction on waking up. Would he understand why I did it? Or would he hate me without asking reasons behind my actions? My dad might be a strict man and sometimes, aggressive but I didn’t want him dead. A lot of people didn’t understand my connection to my dad and often thought of it as an act to win him over to get his wealth. However, they didn’t know the reason was that he saved me from that fire outbreak seven years ago. The same fire outbreak that took my mom’s life and many other people living around us. As to how the fire started was still a mystery yet to be known, but it was ruled out as a kitchen accident. Funny how that way was supposed to be the

Cristiano “Is Ivan home?” I asked, strolling into my villa. I loosened my tie, falling on the sofa tiredly. I was in my father’s company throughout the day and all that paperwork on my desk messed with my brain. Signing contracts and going through designs for art projects weren’t what I enjoyed. It was more suitable for Luca. “No, Boss,” Lorenzo responded, standing by the side. “But I’m sure he’ll be back soon.” He added with a reassuring smile. I chuckled, throwing my head back. That little shithead wants me to track him down and bring him home, huh? I warned him not to stay away for long, however he loved pushing my limits. He must have thought it was another empty threat, but he was in for a shock. “You’re sure you dropped him at the right hospital yesterday?” I pressed further.“Yes, boss. I showed him to his father’s room before leaving.” He confirmed and I nodded in understanding, waving him off. He must like me chasing after him each time. Too bad it won’t end well for him t

Ivan I let out a deep breath as the door creaked open. Even with my back turned towards the entrance, I could tell who was standing on the doorframe. I didn’t know how long I’ve been lying on the bed, wetting the sheets with my tears and starving myself. Thankfully, Cristiano didn’t show his fucking face to me during that period. Only god knows what the fuck I might have done to him if he did. I only needed a sharp blade to plunge it into his flesh. “You can’t keep starving yourself like this, Tesoro.” He commented with a sigh. I scoffed, glancing at the dishes left on my table hours back. That was the fourth meal they’d brought into this room, and like the others, this was going to the trashcan. The aroma was enticing, but it wasn’t enough to make me hungry for food. “Ivan, look at me.” He commanded in a stern voice. I rolled my eyes, shutting my eyes as I heard his footsteps nearing. I felt the bed sink low from his weight, and his warmth rubbed on my body. I held my breath, ball

Cristiano I hated nagging, especially when Ivan wasn’t the one doing it. I rolled my eyes, my legs crossed as my father lectured me on the hundreds of wrongs I had done. I was more amused by how fast he got the news about Ivan’s father. It had barely been an hour and he showed up at my house with his damn wife and that fucking traitor. “Are you even listening to me?” He screamed in frustration and I hummed in response, meeting his eyes. He shook his head in disappointment, swinging his fist forward to hit me but his wife held him back. “Calm down, honey,” Matilda muttered, rubbing his back soothingly as she glanced at me. “I’m sure he regrets his decisions.” “No, I don’t.” I countered with a shrewd smile, “He burnt the casino and only got what he deserved.” I defended with a shrug. Luca scoffed, gritting his teeth as he stared into my soul. “How would you feel if I forced you to shoot father?” He asked with an arched brow. I didn’t know where he stood sometimes. One minute he wa

Ivan A lone tear rolled down my cheeks as I watched blood seeping out of his stomach. I couldn’t move, my body tensed from the judgmental stares on my face, especially from Marco. He wore a look of disappointment, but didn’t voice a word. He didn’t have the right to. They all stood and watched me pull the trigger without trying to stop me. Their duty was to protect the family yet they let me to hurt their leader because he didn’t order them to attack. He wouldn’t have asked them to kill me which only made me feel worse about what I’ve done. If I didn’t hate Cristiano then, I do now. I despised him.My stepmother held him in her arms, screaming at them to prepare the car. Carlos hurriedly carried him out of the house with Mia and others trailing behind him. I choked back a sob, lowering my gaze to my trembling hand. My eyes blazed in rage as I felt the bastard’s hand move inside my shirt. I chewed on my inside cheek, clutching the gun in my hand. “Let’s go home, Tesoro.” He muttered
