“Where is Kane?” Cherry thundered the second she and Mia entered the packhouse. She knew she should not have bought Mia back to the packhouse but she had had no choice. Her mate was nowhere to be seen and he was ignoring their mindlink. Cherry was furious and banged loudly on her mother and father in laws door. There was no answer. Cherry scrunched her hands into angry fists and punched the door so hard it left a dent. She did not care about that. Mia was fascinated by the strength this girl had. Not only had she fought off five rogue wolves but she also left a fist print in a door. Mia wondered if she would have the same sort of strength. She shook her head and pinched herself. No, she was not dreaming. “Hey you, Omega.” Cherry yelled to a servant girl who was passing by. The girl shook with fear as Cherry strode over to her. “How can I help you?” The servant girl stuttered nervously. “Where is the Kane?” She demanded to know, ignoring how uncomfortable the girl look
Kane had managed to stop Cherry going after Mia. He knew that Jacob was starting to see sense and he needed to talk to Mia alone. Cherry sat down on the bench and was about to go back inside for a drink but was interrupted by Abigail. “There is no way she is his mate!” Abigail sighed causing Cherry to turn around and scowl. “What and you are?” Dana laughed. Abigail did not seem to impressed with their sarcasm towards her. She was not going to argue with them. She decided that they were not worth her energy. Cherry could not stand the girl. She watched her walk off and clenched her fists. Danielle noticed her friends frustration. “Mia will be fine.” She told her. Cherry looked up and smiled. She gazed into the forest and sighed. She hoped that her friend was ok. “You can’t fight the mate bond. They need to get on with it.” Selene said handing her a bottle of water which she took gratefully. She knew her friends were right but it still did not
Dawn was so mad and upset over everything that was said and done between her and daughter. How could her daughter be so cold towards her? She knew she had not been there for her but she was only doing what she had felt was right at the time. She wished that she could have done something, anything to make things right. The Lycan king, Antonio and queen Clara would have disowned her if they knew she had become pregnant so young and by a human who had no wolf at all. What sort of child would they have had together? She would never be able to take over as a Lycan queen. They would have been so disappointed in Dawn. She hated that she had had to lie for so long. It was time she told the truth. No matter what the consequences of her actions. Mia was the one being punished for her mothers actions. Perhaps they would find out another way, it was better to come from Dawn rather than someone else. As soon she entered the palace gates, a guard bowed to her and greeted her kindly. S
Antonio was far from impressed to find that he had a granddaughter that he had missed out on growing up. He wanted and needed to know as much as possible about her. He and his wife, Clara were disappointed in their daughter for not telling them the truth. He felt that her excuses were lame and a waste of precious time. He had ordered for his men to find his only granddaughter since he was not sure how much longer he would be breathing for. His daughter was clearly ashamed of her actions but that did not change anything that had happened. “We should not be to hard on her.” Clara told him the next morning. Dawn had refused to come out of her room. Antonio felt that she was acting like a spoilt brat. “She is a woman now. She needs to face up to her mistakes. Our grand daughter is out there somewhere and I demand her to be bought here, immediately.” He raised his voice and slammed his fists down on the table. His wife let out a sigh and dropped her shoulders. It was not easy fo
It did not take long for Mia to shift into her wolf, it was painful and she wanted to cry out to make it stop but it was soon over with. Zoe had told her to strip to just her underwear and hide her clothes. She did not want them to end up all torn and unwearable for when she turned back. Mia was amazed at how beautiful her wolf was. She was medium sized with lovely dark fur and a white line from her nose to just between the eyes. Mia loved Zoe from the very first instant. After going for a run and taking a long drink from the stream, Mia shifted back into her human form and got herself dressed into her clothes. “I will be here with you always, Mia.” Zoe had said causing Mia to smile. She felt so happy and excited. She had decided that she would not return to the pack-house. She was not ready to face Jacob, Kane or Cherry. She needed time to process everything that had happened, but more importantly she wanted to get to know herself and Zoe better too. Mia found hersel
Jacob hated to be in the same room as the ones who had hurt Mia. Being away from her was driving his wolf crazy and he was having a hard time keeping his wolf at bay. If he took over then anyone who got in his way would be ripped apart and dead within seconds. His sorry arse excuses were just jibber jabber to Jacob. Kane stood back and watched as his brother got into the prisoners face. “Please spare me.” The man cried. His bloody nose dripping with blood. Jacob laughed and laughed. How pathetic this human was to think he could get away with such treatment to his mate. Mia did not deserve to be treated so cruelly, of course Jacob knew he had disrespected his mate but this one has caused far more damage. Jacob was going to spend his life making it up to Mia. “I will rip your disgusting body apart limb by limb.” Jacob snarled in his face. “I’m so sorry for whatever I have done.” He choked through tears. Kane chuckled in the background. “You hurt my girl.” Jacob growled
“Excuse me?” Two massive burley middle aged men got out of a shiny black jeep with blacked out windows. Mia did not think she could be any more afraid than she already was. The man who gripped her waist pulled her closer to him. “What do you want?” He challenge the two men bravely. Mia kept quiet. “Hand over the girl.” The other burley man demanded as he stepped forward ready to crush the pathetic man. Mia wanted to scream and run but he had a very tight grip on her and she was afraid he would snap her in half. She did not know who these men were or what they wanted. “Who the hell are you?” The man laughed at the burly men. In a second he was lifted off the ground forcing him to let go of Mia. She was saved from a nasty fall by the other burley man. He gently picked her up and placed her in the car. Then they proceeded to punch him as he begged for his life. Leaving him in a heap on the pavement they got in the car and sped off. Mia was scared sh
Mia was paralysed to the spot. She looked at the three smiling faces in front of her but couldn’t find any words. “I’m so happy to finally meet you, Mia.” The older lady gushed excitedly grabbing Mia and hugging her so tightly that Mia thought she might suffocate. She had no idea who these people were but her mother seemed comfortable enough with them. “This is your grandmother and your grandfather.” Dawn explained to her confused and scared looking daughter. Mia studied her mothers fade and thought back rk the altercation back at Fiona and David’s place. She had felt so alone and abandoned by this woman. How could she treat her own child that way? Dawn must have read Mia’s mind because the next second she was hugging her and sobbing hysterically. “Oh, Mia. What have I done. I’m so sorry that I left you. I should never have been ashamed of you. You are my baby.” Mia was taken aback by her mothers sudden reaction to her but she decided to embrace it. She locked eyes with her grand
