“What time did you get home last night?” Sean asked as he fell into steps with Aliyah on their way to school.
Aliyah shrugged, “well, I threw a couple of stones at your window but how could you hear it when Monica was screaming so loud?”
Sean blushed and brushed into her with his shoulders, “you came back that late, when did you get to sleep?”
“Oh I don’t need much sleeping,” she smacked her lips, “I’m pretty good without much sleep.”
“Yeah, because you sleep away in class,” he rolled his eyes but before Aliyah could respond, three girls walked up to them and he hissed.
“Hey Ali, what’s up?” a blonde haired girl that was leading the other two asked with a smile.
“What do you think, Natasha, don’t I look okay?” Aliyah asked with a raised eyebrow, crossing her arms on her chest.
“Oh you know, I just want to know, you know, with the blood moon coming soon and the fact it’s going to be your fourth mating ceremony. I don’t know, do you think you would find him this time or is it going to be another ‘aww, better luck next time’ kind of day?” she laughed with her girls. “But anyways, just know that I will be praying for you that you will find him, you know. After all, the fate of the Blue Moon pack depends on it. Oh, I forgot,” she covered her mouth for a second and then smiled, “if you don’t have a mate and your father dies, the high table would just appoint another Alpha and that would be the end of the Alpha power in your bloodline.”
“Wow, thank you for teaching us the history we already know,” Aliyah clapped, “but too bad, no matter who would be chosen, it won’t be your Mate nor your brother, how sad.”
“You don’t know for sure,” Natasha said, “Eric is the best wolf in the back for now and no one is going to take his place anytime soon,” she bragged with a smile. “I know it must hurt that I ended up being his mate when everyone rumored it would be you, plus the fate that he is your ex, how sad,” she made a sad face.
Aliyah scoffed, “well, too bad that you haven’t seen through this, no matter how good you think you are, you will always be my copycat. Picking up the things I dumped.”
Natasha growled furiously at her words and furs started appearing on her face in her quest to transform. “Girls,” a voice called and they all turned to the man standing by the tree, “it’s school premises,” he reminded.
“We are sorry, Beta Aton,” they apologized immediately.
Aton nodded towards the school at them and they turned to leave, “not you Sean,” he added and Sean stopped, winking at Aliyah who glanced at him before she walked off.
“Dad,” Sean greeted, walking up to him.
“Did Aliyah leave the clan last night?”
Sean felt his heart miss a beat but he reined his fear in immediately, “no.”
Aton sighed and placed his hand on his shoulder, “son, I know that you care about her but as the future Beta of this clan, the betterment of the pack should be your first priority. There is a reason going out at night is forbidden, don’t forget your role son in order to make your friend happy. You know the consequences if the alpha is to find out.”
Sean didn’t say anything and Aton sighed, turned and left. He watched his father’s back as he left, ever since he was a boy, he had been surrounded with the praises of how good his father is at his job and how he was the best Beta Blue Moon pack had ever had. He could still remember how he had wished to be like him and he still does but if his father should remind him of his duties, it means he is not doing it well. He blew out a deep breath while running his fingers through his deep brown hair. Another sigh left his lips and he stumped his foot before going after Aliyah.

“What are these things?” Edward asked, glancing around at his well furnished living room.
“Oh,” Rasmus smiled, “with each passing century, the humans develops new things, new gadgets. Like this, this is a television,” he took the remote and turned it on.
“There are tiny humans in it, is it an easier way to find someone to feed on?” Edward asked.
Rasmus laughed, “no, your highness, if you break that screen now, you will see nothing but wires. It’s a faster way the humans communicate with the world at large. It’s a transmitter, it transmits visual images and sound and they use it to broadcast programs like entertainment, information and education. Here,” he brought out his phone from his pocket, “this is called a cell-phone, it is just like the television but more portable. But this one comes with a plus, I can pass message to you no matter the distance and you will receive it in seconds. I can even call you, and no matter where you are, we can talk and hear each other’s voices.”
Edward listened with less interest, “I see,” he replied, glancing away from the gadgets and taking in the differences in his house, “it’s strange but okay. I guess I can leave with it.”
Rasmus smiled, “let me show you around your highness. Wait till you see their mode of transportation,” he chuckled and went to a drawer to get the car key of a Maybach and turned to show the key to Edward with a proud smile. “I had acquired it in your name. I stumbled upon your treasure room and changed a few gold bars into cash. It was how I was able to get all these things,” he glanced around the whole living room. “Two or three gold bars are a lot of money now. I hope you don’t mind me touching your treasures without your consent your highness?”
Edward waved him off, “I have no use for those gold bars anyway. Your forefather and his mates helped me to acquire them back when we were still in action. We just store them since we have no use for them,” he shrugged, “let’s go, I’m interested to see this ‘transportation’ of yours,” he stood up.
Rasmus smiled, “of course my Prince, please follow me,” he did a curt bow and then led the way outside. Edward squint his eyes when he came in contact with the sun, but right after he had gotten used to the light, he took a good look of the scenery surrounding him. He had built his castle on a mountain but everything has changed now. It was still on the mountain no doubt, but the scenery had changed and he had no doubt it had to do with Rasmus, the man was making him like him more with each passing second. He turned behind him to talk to him only to see that the man was still standing in the shadows of the house, “what is the problem?”
“This is the one thing we envy the originals for, the ability to walk in bright sunlight. Only the direct descendant of the originals can walk in the sun but even they would be wary in walking in such a bright sun,” Rasmus explained.
“I know of the decrease in power with each new birth, but I didn’t think it would stop you from going into the sun at all. We naturally prefer moving at night because our senses are heightened by then, I guess that’s why I never took notice of the changes in the newer generations,” Edward said.
“You have been asleep for a long time my Prince, a lot of new discoveries has been done about us but it all points to the fact that we can never be like you, ‘the original’. Your senses are sharper than ours and you are ten times stronger than we can ever be. Without you in the picture, the strongest of our kind is the direct descendants because your blood is stronger in them than the rest of us that comes after. They are the rulers of our kind now, they are known as the high council and they govern over every Night Walker council in the whole world.”
Edward nodded, “I see, a lot of changes have been made.”
“Indeed my Prince,” Rasmus concurred, “in my quest to show you the new world, I have forgotten the time. If my Prince could be patient enough for a few more hours to go by, as the third generation, I can walk under the evening sun without the fear of being burnt, I can show my Prince around by then.”
“Very well Rasmus, but I would like to take a little run, my powers haven’t fully returned but I have missed running in these woods.”
“Of course my Prince, while you are away, I will take the time to send news to the high council that you have awakened.”
“Not now, Rasmus, not now,” Edward said.
“But my Prince…” Rasmus was saying when the whooshing of the wind stopped him, telling him that the man was long gone. He sighed, staring at the spot he was standing only but a second ago before he turned and went into the house.
“This is called a car, but this is an S class, it’s model name is ‘Maybach,’ there are a lot of cars but different models and the better the model you choose, the higher the price,” Rasmus explained proudly to the nonchalant Edward that was standing in front of a sleek black Maybach. “I got this one for you because I know you would love it.”Edward ran his slender fingers on the car, a little bit of interest revealed in his midnight blue eyes when he opened the door and saw the car interior and he could say he liked it more because of its dark color. “How is the speed?”“Perfect,” Rasmus bragged.“Can it go faster than me?” Edward asked as he sat behind the wheel.“Well, we can only find out, my Prince.”“How do you move it?” Edward asked, running his fingers on the wheel before turning it left and right. When nothing happened, he glanced at Rasmus with a raised eyebrow.“First of all, you will start it,” Rasmus demonstrated by starting the car, “and you control the tires with this wh
The club wasn’t hard to find, Aliyah could see the humans hanging around and some waiting in line to get into the club. She saw the men that Sean called the bouncers and knew they would want to see her ID before she would be let into the club but she didn’t come with that and then she remembered the trick Sean had used the last time they were there. Being a wolf, she can be very stealth, so creating a little distraction; she slipped into the club without the bouncers noticing. She chuckled at how smart she was and followed the music till she got to the open room where sweaty bodies were dancing against each other. The music was louder than she could remember and it wasn’t helping if her wolf senses made the music louder than necessary. She felt her wolf was distressed with the music but there was nothing she could do; after all, she was the one that made her come to the human realm in the first place. She walked over to the bartender and flashed him a smile, she had forgotten to come
Aliyah kept running in the streets, she wanted to transform but she couldn’t do that with the humans walking around. She glanced behind her a number of times and she couldn’t see him but she knew he was chasing her because his scent was lingering around and her wolf was still reacting in that strange way to him. When she finally saw the woods coming up, she sighed in relieve and increased her pace, she knew the only reason he hasn’t caught up to her was probably because he was trying to avoid the human stares as well. Everyone knows that nightwalkers are pretty fast and there was no where she could outrun him with her human legs.As she ran, she wondered why he was chasing her in the first place, she didn’t cost him any trouble and the treaty clearly states that if there was no problem then there was no reason to attack. She had figured out what he was and had minded her business by leaving the club for him, what does he still want with her now? Immediately she approached the woods, s
Aliyah shut her eyes and raised her hand that had shifted into a paw again, ready to strike him once more in defense at how swiftly he came to her and how tightly he was holding her but he grabbed her paw before she could even lay damage on him this time. He glanced at her paw and then at her, “haven’t you figured out already that your little claws won’t do a damage on me?” he whispered in soft tone that messed with her mind and her body reacted violently to it. His voice was soft compared to the anger held in his words. She opened her eyes and saw that he was staring at her neck but rather than react in fear knowing that a nightwalker only stares at people’s neck when they want to feed on them, she was actually expecting the bite, wanting to feel his fangs on her.She gasped in shock, her eyes revealed her fear as she wondered what the man was doing to her. She has learnt about the compelling spells of the nightwalkers, how their beautiful face and sweet voice attracts their prey. Bu
“So, why didn’t you answer my call earlier?” a red haired girl licked her lips while pushing the boy softly to fall on the bed. She climbed on top of him and licked his face softly, “do you know how much I have been missing you?” her hand slowly went down his chest to his groin.Sean sighed and grabbed her hand to stop her, “Monica, please, I’m really not in the mood for this.”Monica looked up at him with a frown, “what is wrong Sean, first you refused to answer to my mating call, then you didn’t answer your phone. And now I’m here, you still don’t want to look at me.”“I’m sorry okay, I just have a lot in my mind right now,” he tucked a tendril of hair behind her ear and made her sit up on his lap while he sat up as well. “I just don’t know what is taking her so long. She should have been back by now.”“God, don’t tell me that this is about Aliyah again. Sean, I’m your mate, I’m the one you should be worried about not her!”“I know, I know, okay and I worry about you, I love you. Bu
Aliyah curled up on the ground wincing softly in pain. Turned out it was a hunter after her kind that left the trap because now there was poison in her wound. Only wolf hunters poison their traps so that it would stop them from healing fast and running away. She was already drained off strength and knew that if she doesn’t get home soon and have the poison detoxified, she will be too weak to fight off the hunter when he comes or even be dead, judging by how weak she was now.The drug’s effect had worn out a long time ago and she really wished she could go home but if she should shape shift with how weak she was, the poison would spread faster and if she doesn’t get treatment soon enough, she might die. So being in her human form helps to conserve a little energy to endure and wait for help to come. She tried using her mind link to reach home again but like it has been doing since, it bounced back, reason being because she was wounded and far from home. The mind link getting blocked wh
Edward ran home and refused to think of the stupid thing he did. Not only did he kill the human because of her, he also stayed and guarded her till she was claimed by her people. Is he growing soft or what? How could he seek revenge for a howler and also protect her? That was impossible. He hates them to the bones, he hates their ancestors. Although it has been so long and he hardly remembers most of the things that happened when he was human, he has still not forgotten the hatred that burns deep in his bones. So no matter the form they take, he hates them and he will always hate them. So why, why did he do what he did tonight? At first, she had hurt him and rather than kill her, he helped pried open the teeth of the trap for her. And as if that was not enough, he killed an innocent human because of her. No, he shook his head, he didn’t kill the human because of her; he killed the human because he was taking advantage of innocent women, that’s all. He only wanted to rid the humans of
Aliyah opened her eyes and groaned to the stinging pain that rushed from her leg throughout her body. “You are okay, you are okay,” she heard Sean whispered as he grabbed her hand. She tightened her hand on his and her eyelids slowly fluttered open. He smiled at her seeing she was awake. “How are you feeling?”“Like a lorry ran down on me,” she replied huskily.Sean chuckled. “Well, considered what you have been through, to a human, it must surely feel like they have been run down by a lorry.” Aliyah smiled and tried to sit up but Sean held her down, “not yet, you are still too weak.”“Come on Sean, what am I, a human?” she rolled her eyes and insisted on getting up but when she moved her leg, a sharp pain shot through her and she shivered in the pain. Sean rushed and held her, helping her to lie back down. “It was a dangerous poison right?” she hissed due to the pain.“Yes, but don’t worry, Catherine is doing her best to detoxify it. You will be good to go in no time.”Aliyah nodded
