MasukMIAXavier strolled in like some hero who had just finished a mission, breathing heavily, sweating profusely, looking like he had truly just come back from hell. “How on earth did you get here before me?”I scoffed. “Don’t ask.” “Why didn't you come with me? I looked for you around but I couldn't find you. I really thought you were behind me.”“Well, I actually stayed behind to clean up. It would be easier if it took them time to find out that we were there.”Putting the air purifier back together was no easy task because I didn't know what I was doing but I went ahead and just tried to not make it look like the mess we left. After that, I had to find my way home. It was not an easy task. “Do you think the bracelet is going to do any good? Do you know what to do with it?” To be honest, I didn't. Not even in the slightest, spells were not my wrong suit.“I guess I'll have to wait for Magma to return. Until then, I'll keep this pretty close to me. I can't lose it on my first day o
XAVIER“If we move the safe, do you think it will trip the alarm?” The truth was that we will never know unless we did it. Did I want to risk it? Come on, Xavier. Think. Think of something else. “Mia, check if there's an outlet close to the safe.”I remained still as she walked over, looking around and not finding anything at first. “There’s not- Found one!”Quickly, I grabbed the air purifier and ran over to the outlet. “Okay, you need to open up the back cable of the safe. Careful though because any movement would trigger the alarm and this whole thing will be toast. You have to go around it.” That was basically impossible because the safe was facing a wall. There was little to no space for me to see anything. But I just had to try. Inside my bag, were tools I knew I would need dealing with something like this so I got our my screwdrivers and my headlight. Laying on the ground so I could get a better view, I looked around the back for the opening but there was nothing there.
XAVIER“Black, I might need your help again. We need the code to the door. I need to get in there.” I knew I was stressing him but I didn't know they'd need my help inside. “Shit, we have to wait. The present code will expire in thirty seconds. I'll need at least sixty seconds to get the new code so we have to wait for this one to expire.”Are you seriously kidding me? But we didn't have a choice. We waited, my heart beating loudly in my chest for the time. “Okay! The thirty second is up. I'll be getting the new code soon.” I looked at my wait, counting the seconds. Mia was pressed up against the glass, staring out and waiting patiently with me. “Twenty more seconds, Black. We need that code anyway.” “Boss, I'm working as fast as I can. I'll have it…now! 233496!”My hands shook as I imputed the code into the lock, the uncertainty wavering in my mind. What if it didn't work? What if he missed a number? Once I heard the beeping sound and the door unlocked, I smiled for the first
XAVIERThere were guards coming up the stairs. We could hear their footsteps and conversations. Mia and I looked at each other with widened eyes. We needed a place to hide. There was no way we could go back outside to the roof because the door made a lot of noise due to the old hinges. “We need to do something, fast.” Their voices were getting closer. We were stuck. We couldn't go back and we couldn't go forward. Then Black came to the rescue. “To your left, there's a door. It's an old janitor's closet. Get in, you can change into a uniform. Just make sure your face is hidden.”I grabbed the door handle, yanking it open and shutting it slowly behind me. The closet was small, almost claustrophobic but now wasn't the time to think about all that. I grabbed the closest uniform to me and pulled it over my head, not thinking about the musty smell. The guards were right outside and they were very close to the door. I pulled the cap over my head, covering the lower half of my face wit
MIA“Are you ready? You can't back down now.” Elara gave me a look and sighed. “I should be asking you that. What if you get caught? What will we say?” That won't happen. That can't happen. I won't allow it. Xavier surely won't allow it either. The plan was simple. Get in and get out. As simple as ABC right? Let's just hope that on the field, we don't get any surprises. I can't deal with surprises right now. Xavier was waiting for us outside along with his uncle. They looked ready to go. “Hey.” He greeted me with a smile. Magma had finally been able to cast one spell that let him see me but it wasn't going to last very long. That's why we had to do what we had to do now. If we wanted any more time, we would be at a loss. “Are you sure you want to come with us? You don't have to.” There was no turning back. Besides, I wanted to be there to pick up my bracelet myself. “It’s okay. I can handle it.” He turned back to his uncle and gave him a nod. Xerxes in turn placed his ha
XAVIER“What-what are you telling me? What does that even mean?”My brain wasn't processing thoughts right now. And certainly not what she was saying. She remained silent, staring at me like she hadn't just said words that confused me. “I’m saying…she's here. Mia. Well, not her.”The frown on my face was getting deeper because I looked around and I didn't see her. “Please tell me what you mean because you're not making any sense. Where is Mia?” She took a couple steps back and looked beside her. “She’s here. Her soul. Her soul is here.”I looked at the bare ground, trying so hard to not look stupid, knowing that there was no one there. Was Magma playing a prank on me? But she knew the severity of the situation and she wouldn't do something like that. “She said she knows you'll doubt so she said I should tell you she knows about the birth mark on your butt that you're ashamed of.”I didn't know when I started laughing. My baby was here. Not in the flesh but right here. The urge
