At half nine Lee and Michael were already waiting for Davis by the roadside as Davis was reversing the car into the road to pick them up. They arrived at the orphanage in five minutes time as the house was only five houses away but because Davis mother also wanted Abigail to go with them and Davis had to explain to his mother that it was some business and confidential things that the boss was going to do, it took them a little longer.
Lee and Michael knocked on the door, the matron was already dressed to head out and was shocked when she saw them but then became annoyed as she thought that they gave up when she didn’t see them the day before.
“I have some business to take care of, I cannot delay my appointment,” Annabel said.
“It’s nothing much, we are even heading into town and we can offer you a lift, that way you wouldn’t have to wait to get a taxi,” Michael said.
“Fine, but we have to make it quick, so what do you want to discuss?” Annabel asked.<

Lee remained quiet the entire ride into town, every time she was about to say something to him to discuss the marriage between him and Cindy his phone would vibrate and the man would be busy messaging someone. “Boss we have arrived,” Davis said as he pulled into the underground parking lot of a building. Annabel looked around her surroundings, she found the place to be isolated but then every few minutes while they were waiting for the man to say something she would see a few people walking out of an elevator or into it after a car pulled out and another pulled in. “Where are we?” she finally asked. “We have arrived at the building of the attorney that I plan to work with,” Lee said. “Matron I hope you don’t mind we continue the discussion at his office,” Lee said. “Sure, sure,” she said. Only when they enter the elevator did she recognize which building they were in, in this one building had three of the best attorney. She smiled, ‘Ma
“Not for us, the current matron would have a lot of work to do before next week Friday, but we would give her some assistance. Can she use these forms to get their birth certificates at least?” Lee asked. “Yes, but I would have to inform them in advance so that they would know she is coming and to not allow anyone else in during that time. It would be best if she gets the birth certificates today before four this evening,” Derick said. “How long would it take for you to finish the document for her to sign?” Michael asked. “I am almost finished,” Derick said. “Wait there is something I want you to add in,” Lee said and he was about to say something but then Annabel’s phone interrupted them. “Michael, take her outside, make sure she doesn’t let others know and that she doesn’t run away either,” Lee said. “Yes boss,” Michael said before grabbing Annabel’s hand and carrying her in the attorney’s office that was across the corridor.
Anna had to come into town to meet with Jessica as she made an agreement to visit her at work once every week and since she was unable to do it on Monday and Tuesday and knowing that Jessica would be working on that day she decided to visit. Anna also hoped that Jessica's shift would end early so they go to the supermarket together and she could get a few things. However, while was crossing the road a visit broke the red light and scrapped her, she wasn’t seriously injured, she just got some scrapes on her hands and knees, nothing that some ointments wouldn’t heal. She didn’t bother to make a scene and continued towards the hospital. When she arrived Jessica was still attending to the inpatients that had appointments so she waited among the inpatients until Jessica was free. When Anna entered Jessica’s office, Jessica wasn’t too surprised to see Anna with another set of bruises on her skin. “When this happened? And what caused it?” Jessica asked. “Wel
Anna felt the tingling feeling and she wanted to pull her hand away as she was starting to blush, but he had a firm hold on her hand which was difficult for her to get her hand out of. She gave up and when they arrived at the supermarket she said, “You can let go now, I have to push the trolley.” Lee reluctantly released her hand, but he followed her inside. “What do you have to get?” “Just a few things to top up the fridge and some dry food products,” Anna said heading towards the market section first. “Just a few? Why don’t you pick up everything one time?” “The matron only gave me two hundred and I cannot spend it wildly,” Anna said. “Fine, pick up everything you think you need. You will pay with the two hundred separately and the balance I would pay.” “Are you sure you want to pay the bill? I could spend a lot,” Anna said. “Just pick them up, I want to make you all the children have healthy and enough food. Think of i
“Good luck there, but sure,” Jessica said and then gave him her number, she then quickly left them after getting a kiss cake and a Coca-Cola twenty-ounce. She had to change her plan and hurry to the car park and get in her car, just as she was about to open her car door an SUV pulled up to her side. She was about to say something to the passenger but closed her mouth when she saw who it was, it had been years since she last saw him. “Boss we are in the car park,” the man as he gave her an apologetic look and smile, but there was no sign of recognition on his face. It was then that Jessica understand why the man looked so familiar, but still wasn’t sure if it was really him and hoped that they would really meet up on Saturday so he would know for sure. Inside the car, in the back seat, the woman recognized the doctor. ‘This has been the doctor that has been secretly protecting Anna, I wonder if Anna came to meet her today. I should call the house and find out
“Really? Matron, can we arrange a vehicle to talk all those that are fifteen years and older to the ID card office tomorrow? I know the cost must be the problem and that was why you didn’t bring them before, but you wouldn’t have to pay. Think of it as us offering you charity for the orphanage,” Michael said after he realized the trap that his boss had set for the matron yet again. “Gentlemen I would gladly accept your assistance,” Annabel said. Her time was ticking and she had to get her side of the deal done before the seventeenth, she wasn’t aware that it was a trap they set for her, but she accepted it as she thought they were offering her help. They were offering help, but they also wanted Anna to see that the matron was planning something else for her. “You’re eighteen right Anna?” “Yes, why?” “So that means you would also be going tomorrow with us. Maybe, if you don’t go and help around the house the matron might give you a rest day on
That was very good chocolate and he bought that for another woman, she wasn’t happy with that. She has to find that woman and from the way, he said that she choose those must mean that she is from this country and maybe this town. “I signed an NDA, I cannot say,” Davis said, his phone rang at that moment, “Hello…Yeah man…yeah tomorrow…I will come for it now...See you in a bit.” “Was that for the bus?” Michael asked. “Yes, hey boss, we get the bus for tomorrow. I am going to collect it now,” Davis said and was about to walk out the house. “Bus? Where are you going tomorrow? I want to go to,” Abigail said. She was envious of her brother, for the past week her brother had been working and she was stuck home doing nothing. She was hoping that they would have called her to do the house cleaning at least but nothing. She wanted to do something that would allow her to spend time with the handsome men, but it seemed like that wasn’t possible and she h
“You…” Cindy said, she never expected that Anna would know that. “You want to know where all the money, well you don’t deserve to know,” Anna said and was about to walk into the bathroom with another set of clothes that those three have torn. “Where did you get the money for the chocolate Anna?” the matron asked. “That was payment for helping him make the groceries,” Anna said and continued inside the bathroom before locking it. She took out the needle and thread that she hid inside the bathroom and put together all the pieces while crying. Anna had been living like that for years, she had been quietly taking all the bullying they did to her and never complained but today they took away the only thing that really meant something to her. “Matron did you see that, that ungrateful girl who never cares for anyone but herself,” Cindy said. “Did you go in her bag?” Annabel asked. “Yes, so what? It’s not like if the maid needs any pri
