“Hey.” I said to Allicent as she looked up at me from behind the cell.

“Hi.”

“How are you holding up?” I asked her.

“Chained” she said as my smile faltered.

“Deserving of course.” She added before standing and approaching me.

“Yeah.”

“So what happened in court?” She asked me

“Well, I gave my statement honestly…Victor threatened me” I replied as she gasped.

“What?” She asked in surprise.

“Yeah…crazy, I know” I said.

“In court?” She asked with disbelief written all over her face.

“Unbelievable” i stated.

“You’re scared of him aren’t you?” She asked me as I gave a light shrug.

“I thought seeing him face to face liberally would help…but I think it made matters worse” I told her as she nodded in understanding.

“It takes time I guess. I’ll give you hint…he’s just some deranged cousin of mine” she said to me.

“Is that why you aren’t scared?” I asked her as my brows furrowed in confusion.

“One of the reasons I guess” she said as she chuckled softly.

“Makes sense” I said .

  • His Prize    Chapter 55

As I ate my dinner slowly,, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awkwardness around Leo. The dream I had about him had left me feeling shy and reserved, and I didn't know how to process my emotions.Leo noticed the change in me immediately. He would catch me looking at him, my cheeks flushing with embarrassment, and he would smile knowingly.I offered to clear the table, despite the workers doing so just to give my self some distance away from him.I followed the chef into the kitchen with the dirty dishes before realizing Leo was right behind me with some plates too.Leo turned to me and asked, "Sophia, is everything okay? You seem a little...distracted lately."I blushed, feeling a little self-conscious. "I'm fine, Leo. Just a little...tired, that's all."Leo raised an eyebrow, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Tired?" he repeated. "Or maybe just a little...preoccupied?"I looked away, feeling my cheeks grow even hotter. How did he figure it out exactly? But Leo just chuckled and t

Leo noticed the change in me immediately. He saw the way I looked at him, the way I smiled when he was near. And he smiled back, his eyes crinkling at the corners."Sophia," he said, his voice low and husky. "I've missed you."I felt a shiver run down my spine as he took my hand, his fingers intertwining with mine.“Leo…” I began as he placed his index finger on my lips.“Sh…don’t say anything.” He told me as I stared into his hazel eyes.“Just…hold me…please.” He added softly while he pulled me closer to him.I slowly melted into the hug as my hands snaked around his body while his hands stroked my long hair slowly.I closed my eyes and breathed in his woody and spicy scent. It had been long since someone held me so tightly and I missed the feeling of such warmth.Leo slowly pulled away and cupped my face with his strong masculine hands while his eyes roamed over my features, as if engraving them into his memory. He used his his thumb to rub against my lips.We maintained eye contact

“We are having a family brunch.” Leo informed me as I sipped my lemonade.“Okay?” I asked softly.“Well, I want you there with me.” He stated as I smiled.“I don’t know…” I began cautiously.“You don’t know what?” He cut my sentence off with his question.“Being around your family and you know…socializing.” I said to him.“Well, they aren’t so bad. I promise, it won’t be like the last time.” He assured as I frowned.“The last time?…what happened the last time?” I asked him curiously.“Oh. Nothing, it’s a long story.” He brushed it off.“Okay. We have all the time in the world.” I insisted.“This isn’t the right place.” He said with an awkward sip of his black coffee.“Nowhere is ever going to be the right place for you.” I told him.“But ~” He began as I shook my head adamantly.“Please, I need to know. Help me remember who I really was.” I plead.“It’s just…I fucked up then.” He said.“You’ve said that before. I’m sure I messed up in other ways too.” I said in consolation.“Not reall

I couldn't help but feel a flutter in my chest as I got ready for my date with Leo.He had been courting me for weeks now, sending flowers to my class, inviting me for brunch and even talking with me before I slept. It was all so...surreal. Unlike him I might add.As I put on my favorite red dress and did my hair, I couldn't help but feel like a princess. Leo had a way of making me feel like I was the only person in the world, and it was a feeling I couldn't get enough of.When he arrived at my doorstep, he looked dashing in his black suit and tie. He handed me a bouquet of one of my favourite flowers, tulips, and smiled at me with those piercing hazel eyes."You look stunning, Sophia," he said, his voice low and husky.I blushed, feeling a warmth spread through my chest. "Thank you, Leo," I replied, taking his arm as I held my purse in my other hand.As we walked to the car, I couldn't help but notice the way Leo looked at me. It was like he could see right through to my soul, like h

“He tells me he loves me, but I don’t know what I believe.” I said to Paris on the phone.“How do you feel…what does your heart tell you?” She asked me as I scrunched my brows downwards.“That I can trust him, his affection seems familiar but…I don’t know.” I told her as she chuckled lightly.“You don’t know what?” She asked me.“Like…what about Jayden?” I asked her with a heavy sigh.“What about him?” She asked me.“He’s been there for me…I actually remember most of our moments together.” I reminded her.“Well, it won’t be fair to him, if you like Leo and you’re still in a relationship with him.” She bluntly stated.“So what now?” I asked her.“Do what’s right.” She said to me.“Which is?” I asked in frustration.“I don’t know, Sophia.” Paris answered.“But I need to know.” I said with a loud groan.“You alone know what you want…what makes you happy.” Angela chimed in.“More like who makes her happy.” Paris added.“You’re right. I’ll think about it later.” I stated.“Procrastination

I told everyone about the new findings and we all decided to play smart about it.Leo and the police officer took care of majority of the case while I recuperated. As it turned out, Allicent later had a conversation with Victor in the holding cell.Victor had been trying to negotiate a plea deal, after we gave him the information that Allicent had been trying to reduce her sentence by passing the major blame on him,but Allicent had realized that he was trying to save his own skin by betraying her.In a fit of rage, Allicent had confronted Victor, who had sneered at her, telling her that she was just a pawn in his game.Allicent snapped, realizing that she had been played all along. In a desperate bid to take control of the situation, Allicent decided to confess, to take the spotlight away from Victor and shine it on herself. It was a bold move, but one that ultimately sealed her fate.As the trial came to a close, Allicent's lawyer stood up to make her final statement. But just as she
