33| Something is Fishy

Thank goodness it was a national holiday so I could sleep and recover from the fatigue of the previous few days.

I was still in bed at 1:00 p.m., dressed in my most comfortable clothes ever, a loose T-shirt and Bermuda shorts. I was so hungry that I dragged myself away from the bed and into the bathroom to brush my teeth and splash water on my face. Should I mention that I was searching for a Ghost, as I always do? But, hey, I'm at home. I went downstairs for a snack. Because, as we all know, food always takes precedence.

I heard a laugh as I stood in the middle of the stairs. I must say, it's a strange laugh. I stood there listening to see if I could figure out who was speaking, but all I could hear was my father speaking to someone.

Who is this person? We don't have any relatives in this town, as far as I know. Perhaps a colonist. I kept lowering my feet.

I became paralyzed as I approached the hall.
