Michael’s POV

I felt so humiliated in front of not just those who work for me, but in front of the whole of America.

I’m the second candidate contesting for the post of president. And for the sake of love, I found myself kneeling in front of Marietta.

And as I watched her ignore me, stepping into the car without any hope that she was going to take me back. I decided in my heart.

“Should we follow her?” Donovan had asked, but I signaled him never to.

“The reporters are watching,” I whispered. I had used them in my favor, thinking Marietta would give me a chance, but it appears that her mind is hardened.
