Marietta’s POV

Why do I feel so drawn to him?

I wanted to kiss him so badly. But why can't I?

He's also a part of the Sterlings. And Jackson's brother.

What if he is lying? What if all these are staged?

With my eyes boring into his, and his gaze on my lips.

I pulled back a little. I'm not this cheap.

I won't sell myself to these people because of my present situation.

“I can’t do this,” I said.

Taking another step, I shook my head in fear.

“I'm sorry. I can't do this.” I heaved a sigh.

Trying to reach for the door. His next words made me stop in my tracks.

“I've always loved you since High school.”

Did he just say he has been in love with me since high school?

Highschool?! Here I was following Michael and giving him all the attention.

“Why didn't you say anything?” I asked.

Taking my hand off the doorknob I bit my lips softly.

“Why did you love me?” I whispered softly.

“Because you are the only one who cares about me while everyone treats me like dirt!” He yelled.

  • His Regret: Winning Back Her Heart   Chapter 369

Marietta’s POV “What do you say?” He asked again. I was about to respond when I heard Bella’s footsteps. I quickly hung up and pretended nothing happened. I was shivering so badly that Bella had to get me some of her clothes. “Here,” she stretched the cup of coffee towards me. “Thanks,” I gently placed the cup of coffee on the table while I changed into a new set of dry clothes. I watched Bella aim for the room, and the next minute, she was back with a hair dryer. “Your hair is wet.” She broke the silence. “Thanks,” was all I could say. The silence continued for a long time. And only the air dryer alone was the sound that filled the air. “Marietta,” “I'm listening,” I answered bluntly. I'm not sure what my feelings are right now. But I could tell I was losing interest in everything. “We are at risk,” Bella started. A conversation I wasn't ready to listen to. I felt so angry within myself. But I knew someone had to say it. I've got nothing to lose but Bella still has

  • His Regret: Winning Back Her Heart   Chapter 368

Marietta’s POV“And your mother?” I asked quietly, needing to be sure he wasn’t just trying to reassure me with empty words.Granny Lorette had once promised me—years ago—that I’d marry Michael. And I did. But it never felt like love. It felt… arranged. Forced. Now, I’m terrified of repeating the same mistake.“I need to know you’ll stand by me, Aiden,” I said, my voice shaking. “Your mother… she doesn’t even like me.”“That’s because Michael threatened her,” Aiden said, his voice low. “He tried to kill her.”My breath caught. A gasp escaped before I could stop it.This—this is exactly why I’ve been trying to leave.Michael’s become someone I don’t recognize. Someone dangerous. I don’t even feel safe anymore.“Wait,” I whispered. “You’re saying… Michael actually tried to kill your mom?”“Yes.” No hesitation in his voice. Just cold truth.I ran my trembling hands through my hair. “Then what do we do now?” I asked, eyes searching his face, hoping he had a plan. Something. Anything.

  • His Regret: Winning Back Her Heart   Chapter 367

Marietta’s POVA soft knock at the door jolted me awake, leaving me feeling groggy and weak.“Who is it?” I grumbled, turning over restlessly in bed.Last night had been incredible—one of the best nights I’d had in a long time, even if Lena had tried her best to ruin it. Bella, Aiden, and Lawrence had more than made up for her drama. Especially Bella’s fiancé, who had shown up just minutes after she’d announced their engagement to me. We laughed, we celebrated... and now, I was paying for it with a throbbing hangover.“It’s Rita,” came the reply from behind the door.“Come in,” I muttered, my eyes still shut, my body tightly wrapped in the duvet.Rita entered, bowing to me. “I’m sorry to barge in, Miss, but the master has requested we get you ready,” she said as she briskly drew the curtains open, letting a flood of morning light pour into the room.I groaned, pulling the blanket higher over my head.“Rita, seriously?” I muttered, kicking at the air half-heartedly as I spotted the

Marietta’s POVI can’t believe my ears right now. I’m here barely holding my life together. And the only person my daughter wants to see is her father?“Are you a joke?”“You have to calm down, Marietta.” Bella cautioned.“She’s just a child,” she added.“A child?” I repeated.Turning towards Clara. “Search Valerie’s room,” I said.Wiping off my tears, “Search it thoroughly, and take off anything that can serve as a means of communication!” “Yes ma’am.” Clara bowed.Taking my jacket, I headed downstairs.“Where are you going?” Bella asked.I could still hear Valerie’s cries from her room. But it was the least of my worries.“I’m going to find Michael,” “Are you sure you don’t want me to come with you?” Bella questioned.“No, I’ll be fine,” I replied.“Get me my car keys,” I commanded one of the guards.Quickly, I took over the driver’s seat. Ordering the guards to stay back. I made my way down to Michael’s house. My heart raced faster as tears trickled down my face. For the first

Marietta's POV "Etta, wait!" Jackson called after me. But I wouldn't dare to wait.Sliding into my car backseat, I ordered the driver to move."Take me home," I ordered. The reporters all ran after my car, asking different questions. But I was done. I was done with everyone. Jackson, Michael, Granny Lorette. Every fucking person!Suddenly my phone rang, jolting me out of my thoughts."Etta, where are you?" Bella called."Bella, I-""Shh. It's okay. I couldn't leave." She started."I heard everything that happened. And I figured out that you and Valerie would need me," she explained."Valerie! I totally forgot her teacher called me to-""Don't worry about her. She's safe here with me," Bella answered."Where are you heading to right now?" Bella questioned."Home, Bella. I don't know where else to go." I answered in tears."Have you seen the news?" Bella asked."No, why?" I wiped off my tears."You can't go home right now. The reporters are waiting for you," Bella chimed."Reporters?

  • His Regret: Winning Back Her Heart   Chapter 364

Marietta’s POV Just as I did that, I quickly withdrew from him in fear. I didn't know why I did that. But maybe it's because I wanted to know if what I was feeling was real. “Aiden, I didn't mean–” He didn't even allow me to finish my statement when he kissed the words off my lips. His hand was behind my hand, making sure my head didn't hit the door behind us. I held his clothes tight as he pushed his tongue into mine. “Mmm,” I mumbled in between the kisses but he wouldn't even stop. I could feel the hunger, the passion. I brought this upon myself. I shouldn't have done that, but why does this feel so okay? What will the media say if they hear about this? I broke off the kiss, but Aiden wouldn't give up. “I'm sorry Aiden. I feel like a terrible person right now.” I replied before aiming for the door. He tried to pull me back, but I was lucky to escape. Knowing fully well that I wouldn't be this lucky next time. “What did I do?” I whispered to myself as I kept walking wit
