ログインTears spring to my ears as someone came to my defence for the first time in a very long time.
Without putting me down, without thinking twice about it. "Please... Alpha King," the girl spluttered, struggling to speak. "Please let her down," I spoke up, scared he'll kill her. He took a deep breath and dropped her recklessly on the ground. She spent a good minute coughing her lungs out before getting back on her feet. Lucian was already at the door when she whispered something that made him pause. "What did you say, Petra?" he snarled, his wolf growling in rage. She crawled up the bed until she was standing again. "I'm just.. she's an omega, Your Majesty, how could she be your sister?" "You're accusing the Alpha King of lying?" I couldn't help asking, the audacity of this girl. "You'll be sleeping in the dungeons tonight," Lucian snapped and Petra went white with shock. Despite her begging and pleading, guards burst into my room and dragged her out, screaming. Before Lucian shut the door, he turned to me. "Lock your door and only open it to the omegas bringing you dinner. We'll be seeing a healer in the morning." "What for? It's just a slap, I'm fine. I've experienced worse." "Wait, she touched you?" He snarled, his nose puffing. "It's fine, Lucian. I'm fine. No need for a healer, okay? I'm just going to shower and sleep." "No, we're seeing a healer because of this whole Omega nonsense. You're my sister, I know that deep in my soul. We share the same birth mark on our necks. We have to find out what happened, okay?" "Oh.. thank you, Lucian. For everything." "Have a good night," he said, shutting the door. Finally having the room and silence all to myself, I gasped. How can I not be an omega? I've always loved my wolf despite everything said about her. Even though I couldn't shift fully. But if I find out we're more than this, I don't know how I'll feel. "No need to count my chicks before my eggs are hatched," I said out loud and headed to the bathroom. *** The next morning, I pulled out my box and found something comfortable to wear before Lucian came for me. "Did you sleep well?" He asked as we headed downstairs. "Best sleep of my life," I replied with a smile. I mean, I did cry for the most part but once I got over it, I slept like a baby. The bed felt very comfortable. People stared as we walked out, the mansion was gigantic but it was just one part of the Kingdom. He told me the Healer's place wasn't far so we walked as he preferred this rather than driving everywhere. I was impressed by how good and kind he is as King and I could see the people loved him too. He knocked at the door of the healer's house and it opened immediately. She must have smelt us coming. "Your Majesty," she bowed, "are you hurt?" "No Maureen, I brought my sister so you could examine her wolf for me." She frowned and I stepped out from behind my brother so she could get a better look. "You found her?" I didn't know anyone was looking for me. "Yes. But I don't know how her wolf is an omega. Can you check?" "Ma'am, can you shift for me?" She asked, stepping out with us. I shook my head. "It's fine, Cara. You can shift for her. She won't hurt you." "Oh, I'm not scared. I just.. can't. I've never shifted before. And I have tried way more times than I can count. Only my nose changed, nothing else," I admitted with shame. Everyone mocked me for it and I thought Antonio's love meant that nothing would ever hurt me again but here we are. No love, no child and still no powerful wolf. The healer's fingers waved into my hair as she took a look at me. She inhaled my scent, her violet eyes changing from the reflection of the sun. It scared me that she might just say this is all there is to me, a weakling posing as the Princess. If that happens, I might be right back in the same state of surviving on someone else's pity. Am I even the Princess if the King has a powerful wolf and I don't? "She's definitely not an omega." Her words breathed life into me. "Really?" I gasped and then frowned Lucian took the question right out of my mind. "Then why can't she shift and why does she smell like an omega?" "Someone bound her wolf. The spell is so perfectly done I can't even trace who did it." "I don't care who did it, how can I undo it? How can I get my wolf to shift?" Her eyes fell, "I'm sorry Princess but.. I have no idea." "How can you have a diagnosis but no cure?" I snapped, my eyes getting cloudy. "Let's not think too much about this for now, okay?" Lucian said, taking my hand in his, "just do some research, Maureen. Figure out who did this and most importantly, how to reverse it, alright?" "But Your Majesty –" "You will be greatly rewarded, just get it done." We left there and I can't tell if I'm glad I'm actually not an omega or getting depressed at the fact that I might never be cured. "Why would anyone cage my wolf? I was just a child!" "Don't worry, I'll get the best healers in the world involved. I'll send your blood samples out. We will find a cure, alright?" I nodded but the fear of failure nagged me all the way till we got back to the mansion. "You know, I think I know what's gonna cheer you up," Lucian said, walking past the entrance to the house. "A job?" He frowned, "no. I want you to meet my friend. Her parents were killed in an attack and I took her in. She lives with the omegas despite me giving her a room upstairs." "Really? Shouldn't I –" "Don't even think about it. You're a Princess and you will live as one. Now come, I have to introduce you both." Hoping she's not as rude as Petra, I followed him to the back. The Omegas lived in a very beautiful Pack house that was even better than the one I lived in with Antonio. Right as we got close, a beautiful lady with her red hair parked up came out of the house. You could tell she wasn't an omega and her aura was powerful and beautiful. Maybe my brother likes her, I will ask later. "Seraphina, I told you about my sister." "Oh my goodness, she's so pretty," she gushed, taking me for a spin. I couldn't help giggling, "please stop." "Can you take her shopping for some clothes?" "What's wrong with my clothes?" I frowned, looking at the brown gown I had on. "Nothing," Lucian blushed red, "but erm.. we have an Alpha gathering this weekend and I'll be announcing your return." "Oh," my eyes widened. "He's right, we have to get you something that brings out those beautiful gem stones you have as eyes," Seraphina said with a smile. He handed her his card and keys and she pulled me forward. The second we got into the car, my phone beeped with a message. I took it out, thinking Lucian was trying to talk to me but to my shock, it was Antonio. What does he want?Tears spring to my ears as someone came to my defence for the first time in a very long time.Without putting me down, without thinking twice about it."Please... "How did she manage to get the Alpha King to come here?" Gary asked his fellow guard. "I don't know but we need to tell the Alpha!" I didn't care for their theatrics so I walked past them, and He took my box from me. "Wait! You can't leave without the Alpha's permission!" Gary yelled behind me. "It's the royal badge, Gary, that rule doesn't apply." "Still, I've sent Alpha Antonio a mindlink about this. I'm sure he's on his way." I scoffed, "That's if Aliya lets him out of her sight." Lucian, my elder brother shook his head at the exchange as he put my box inside the car and came to open the car door for me. "I'm glad you decided to come back home, Cara. This place isn't deserving of you." "Thank you," I bowed to him, still struggling to accept this new reality. Not my situation with Antonio, I have accepted that, but this new identity. I'd been treated like shit all my life and when I met Antonio, things were a bit better but I didn't have an identity and everyone tre
I don't know how long I lay on those cold tiles, bleeding and crying in pain before Alfred, the Alpha's butler came out and rushed me to the hospital.I'd blacked out before the nurses got me out of the car. When I woke up, I was still in pain but it wasn't as bad as before. I looked around the room, I was all alone. Antonio didn't even notice that I was injured and didn't make any effort to check on me. The reality was difficult to accept, it was just three months ago that he'd told me we could adopt a baby if I wanted one so badly. He was dedicated to doing anything to make me happy. So what was it about Aliya wanting him all of a sudden that changed everything? I was still trying to grapple with the situation when the door opened and I looked up to see the doctor who I'd seen earlier walk in. When he'd given me the pregnancy report, he had been smiling broadly, but now, sadness filled his face. "Doctor? What's wrong with me? Did I break something?" He shook his head, "Yo
I rushed to his study, he had just come back from a battle and I'm sure he needs to write the reports and make arrangements for a lot of things. That's why he wasn't back to bed. So with the pregnancy report clutched to my side, I knocked at the door. "Antonio?" I called out as I pushed at the door and then tried the doorknob. There was no response. My heart plummeted as I realised he wasn't here. I didn't want to believe he was with her, it made no sense. Not after he'd stood by me despite all these years of searching for a child, not after all the promises he made to me, not after all my sacrifices to be with him. No way he's with that deceitful woman. But still, I headed to the Alpha's wing on the Eastern side of the Pack house. It was big enough that the twins both lived upstairs and we didn't have to move out when Damian became Alpha. Everyone praised Antonio for not being jealous of his brother and supported him in being Alpha and Damian in turn for not treating his b
I watched for a long five seconds as the kiss unfolded, Aliyah's body merged into my mate, her hands touching him where only I have the right to.But the part that broke me the most was Antonio's reaction. He didn't push her away; he didn't tell her that this was inappropriate; he just... accepted. While I stood behind them, my pregnancy test results in my hand. When she finally pulled away, she stared up at him with tears in her eyes."Damian, you must not leave me again," she whined, rubbing my mate's chest."I'm here now, don't worry alright?""You were gone for so long, our Pups missed you," she continued in a tone that I'd never heard Aliya speak in.Like a needy child. She grabbed his hand and placed it on her stomach. "They have missed their father.""They'll be strong pups," Antonio replied proudly."What are you doing here anyway? Let's go to bed.""What?" I couldn't stop the word from escaping my lips.Aliya didn't even look at me, she acted like I was invisible, like it was
I looked down from the small balcony of my room, watching the tarred road that led out of the Pack.Wolves were returning from the human towns and some, from hunting. But none were him.My Antonio. It's been two long, cold months without him, and I ached for his return. My hands instinctively went to my stomach as I remembered the last night we spent together before he had to leave. It was the most passionate he's ever been, like he was scared he wouldn't make it back home. This war had lingered on for too long and I had high hopes that this time, he and his twin, Alpha Damian, would finish off our enemies.I couldn't wait for him to come back, not just because I missed him but because the moon goddess had finally answered my pleas. We've been trying for this baby for five years now, and finally, our baby was on the way.The mockery and insults I'd endured all these years were about to come to an end.The barrenness jokes, the talks about being cursed.. none of that would happen again
